If we could swing it, we would probably be here every weekend painting something new. With the tea and sandwiches and one cool bowl and a little ceramic fox, it was about $ 50.
It gets very crowded on the weekends, so go early if you want any service at all. It was really slammed and it was our first time there and we had no idea what we were doing.
That being said, we loved the process and the final product and will be back.

This place is seriously addictive, and the staff are really sweet.
Far too easy to spend a bunch of money here though!

We just went here last night. We had a great time. I have been to two other studios like this, and I think this one was a step above the rest. First of all, the ambience is wonderful. It is very calm and soothing. Everything is extremely clean and organized also. The painting studio is up the stairs in its own little area while all the pottery and paints are below. We didn’t get to try the tea room as it was closed since we came late, but it looked delightful. Next time.
You pick your own pottery. There is a mix of just for fun pottery and useful items. We tried to do something useful, so we made two pet bowls since you can never have enough of those.
My husband was a little apprehensive because he said he was not creative, but once he looked at the idea book he really got into it.
For those of you who aren’t sure what to paint, there is lots of guidance from these cool little books that show you how to do all these wonderful techniques. They also have little stencil like things to help if you want to make intricate designs. I though those were great.
The last paint your own pottery studio I went to, you were on your own. Sometimes the items didn’t come that great either. Here there is everything you need to completely independently paint your own pottery or paint with a little help.
They also have lots of brushes and so many beautiful paints. They even show you how everything will look after one to three coats. Lots of attention to detail, which I greatly appreciate.
The prices aren’t dirt cheap, but I thought they were reasonable. It was $ 20 for my pet bowl. This includes all materials ie paints and staff time. The staff also have to glaze it and fire it, so the prices make sense since you pay for more than just pottery. By the way, it takes five days for the pottery to be completed. Don’t expect to take those home right away.
I thought the staff was lovely also. They were very kind and they helped me whenever I needed it. Don’t be afraid to ask them for help/​ideas. This is a great place to take the kids, go on a date night, or hang out with the girls. I did see quite a few boys enjoying themselves too. :) Give it a try. I don’t think you will regret it.

Absolutely love this place! Both times I’ve been there has been an amazing experience. Today however while we were in the pottery room, there was a woman working in the tea room who very loudly dropped the «F» bomb. Since this is a family place I didn’t expect such profanity to be uttered especially more than once and quite loudly.

Super fun place to paint anything from a shot glass to a cookie jar. They provide all the supplies (including aprons) and have inspiration available if you need ideas. You can also order coffee or tea to enjoy while you’re painting. It’s not the cheapest hobby around — for two people is a challenge to get out of there for less than $ 40. Still a fun experience once or twice a year.

Wonderful little place in fairhaven! Sit down and have some delicious tea with a scone and craft awesome handmade gifts for friends and family. Just recently I painted some pottery that totally made mother’s day for my mom. I’m pretty sure I’m her favorite child now. Great staff, friendly and knowledgable. Especially Angie, who I am pretty sure could help me make the perfect gift for any occasion! I can’t wait to go in again to make my Pops something for father’s day, or maybe just play with a fused glass project. They have many inexpensive options, or some bigger and really cool pieces. Great for kids, adults, family night, or a fun crafting date. Highly recommended.

Although I haven’t sampled the tea or food, my 9 year old and his friend had a GREAT time selecting and hand painting ornaments and we had a fun time/​group effort creating a personalized gigantic dog food dish. There is a variety of useful items to choose to decorate, not just *dust collectors*, which I appreciated. Overall this is a fun way to spend an afternoon… would definitely go again and take more time exploring the different techniques advertised. We just winged it, and since we haven’t picked up the finished project yet I’m not sure how it will turn out.

I visited both Creativitea and The tea room and had a fantastic experience!
Ordered the Afternoon set which came with 3 decent sized sandwiches, a palm-​sized scone, cream and jam, and a dish of fresh fruit. A pot of tea of your choice is also included. Everything was delicious and well made, but for the price ($ 13 a person for one set) you’re definitely also paying for the atmosphere. But as the only place in Bellingham, or even anywhere near Seattle, that does British style high tea, THIS is the place to go!
For creativitea, the staff were friendly and space was available. But they were lacking brushes to use so I had to go hunting for more. Tracing paper was also not restocked. Prices of pottery were double the prices of other places like in Bellevue crossroads ($ 14 – 18 for a mug instead of $ 6?) but you get a huge paint choice, materials, stencils, embossing tools, etc.
The pick up date is quick and fast! If only things were cheaper.
