I was roaming around the mall in search of a place that would feed my empty stomach, and then I found… ricenroll. Personally being a Korean food addict my self, I was really excited to find this place, since you don’t normally see Asian food besides Panda Express at mall. The pictures displayed at the front of the store showing the bibimbap looking so yummy so I decided to order it(9.80 including tax) I waited 10 – 15 minutes with some expectations and it completely was the opposite of what I expected. 1.) First off the egg. The egg was cooked a different way then the one displayed on the picture. 2.) They literary drizzled on that gochujang on like it was ketchup. You couldn’t even taste anything besides the sauce. 3.) The presentation didn’t look that appetizing also. My mom ordered one too, and I noticed that she got mushroom and I didn’t…man I wanted those mushrooms :/

They serve a bowl of ramen for $ 5. Good deal right? Unfortunately a lot of unknowing shoppers probably think so. The ramen they serve is actually the popular Shin Ramen that you can buy at the Asian grocery store for 50 cents a packet. It’s delicious of course but to charge customers 10x more than what they can easily get at the store is a joke. While I know restaurants tend to mark up their dishes, this is just a blatant ripoff.

Ordered udon, got the attached — generic flat noodles in a watery broth. Talked to the server and was told that it was their udon noodle followed by a blank stare. Terrible.

Came in on my lunch break because I just transfered up to Bellevue Square and was hungry. I walked in and looked at the menu and realized that for a ‘fast food’ restaurant(how they are catoregized in the mall map) the prices were that of a nicer stand alone take out place.(Also $ 5 for shin ramen? It’s $ 2 at safeway) When I finally ordered I just went with something safe, that no teriyaki/south east Asian place could mess up: chicken yakisoba. I paid and the other lady working up front went to the cashier and was speaking in spanish, I heard the word yakisoba brought up alot as they frantically used the cashiers phone to looked at something. They looked very concerned and then would look up at me and back at the phone repeatedly. I felt pretty uncomfortable. They then took the phone to the back where I assume the cook is. Now I only get 30min for lunch, 10min in and my food still hasn’t come out, hardly fast. After 15min they brought out my food and I thanked them and hurriedly shuffled back to my work. Now the actual food: I opened the box to find the saddest looking yakisoba. It didn’t smell right, it didn’t look right. I got pieces of chicken, noodles and a few large, burnt pieces of cabbage amongst some random carrots. It was missing a few ingredients. But I was hungry, but the flavor. The chicken was almost… sour? Like a vinegar taste. The cabbage also had a weird flavor. It all tasted very off and kind of gross, but I paid $ 8 for it, I had to eat it. I don’t think I’ll ever come back, service was slow and awkward and the food was honestly gross.

I really have nothing bad to say about this place. So far everything I’ve had was pretty good, a bit pricey but good. My favorite so far is the Spicy pork and kimchi. My fave!

Once I had their pork tonkatsu and it was pretty good. Since then I’ve come back about five times and it’s been horrible, in different forms. Paper-thin pork. Tonkatsu cooked in not hot enough oil(super greasy). Grisly tough pork. Flavored of shrimp or some seafood. I kept thinking the pork would be as good as the first time but now I give up and recommend you not go there… The rest of the food is all just OK.

I ordered the yakisoba with«chicken».? at the Bellevue Square location. Some of the worst stir fry ever – even worse than the grocery store chinese deli! That’s ok, it was really expensive so that helped offset the bad taste in my mouth!

It was borderline acceptable, mostly because I was really hungry. The ramen isn’t extremely flavorful and the kimbap was just okay– which is really all you can expect from fast food in a mall…

I am a fan of eating sushi and ramen and all but this place is a no for me. The Shin Noodles isn’t good at all. You can easily go to the store and get your instant noodle at grocery store for a much cheaper price. It’s not the real kind of ramen I was looking for, sadly. I know way better sushi and ramen places than here. The kimbop was alright but save your money at another place…

This place is awful. I work in the mall so I went there for lunch a couple of times and both times felt disappointed and ripped off. The first time I got the veggie«delight» roll and the second time I got the tofu curry. It’s pretty hard to mess up a freshly-made veggie roll, but they did it. It was bland and the rice was flavorless and soggy. Also there were mushrooms in the sushi. No. The tofu curry tasted worse that something that would have come out of the microwave and it was lukewarm at best and cold at worst. The service is even worse than the food. I had to try several times to get the lady behind the counter to acknowledge my presence as she was looking down at her cell phone. When she finally realized I was there she gave me a confused look and didn’t say anything. I will never go to this place again. It is such a ripoff. If you want food of similar quality, save yourself five dollars and buy a lean cuisine.

When I approached the register to order, the cashier looked up from her cell phone for a second, but then had to finish her text before asking me what I wanted. I ordered and paid and got my food and took a seat. A couple of others came to order, but the cashier was no where to be found. Two girls waited a couple of minutes and then gave up, another girl waited a couple of minutes before leaning over the counter to say«excuse me» a couple of times, but no one came out. Then after five minutes, she leaned over and again and in a louder voice said«excuse me, can I order?» and someone finally came out. After that girl ordered and got her food and left, the cashier called someone on her cell phone and wandered back into the back and disappeared to chat again. The food was good, but the service destroyed the whole experience.

This place is located inside the mall. They have sushi, ramen and a few other items. With only one person working that day, the service was very slow. I ordered the Spicy Kimchi Ramen and tasted fine but it was basically an instant ramen noodle topped with kimchi. Seating capacity is 3 so most people just got their food and found seating elsewhere. One thing I thought was odd, they didn’t have a garbage can in their area. I had to throw away my trash in one of the mall bins in the concourse.

I work in the mall and I decided to try something outside of my work place. A co worker and I had went together. We got to the counter and we’re going to order separate. The cashier took my friends order and walked away. We were still standing there for a few minutes when she looked at us and asked me if I wanted to order too. I was able to order my food and I ordered the chicken and beef combo. We sat down just outside and waited for the food. They called my number and I picked up my food and my co worker had to wait for hers. She had ordered yakisoba and that was prepared to order I guess. Mines wasn’t I guess. We took our food and went back to work to eat. My co workers food was hot and flavorful, wish I would have gotten that instead. I ate the beef first and it was also good and hot. When I went to eat my chicken I was shocked! The chicken was ice cold like they had taken it out of the fridge and cut it and put it on top of my rice. We had both heard that they were a slow establishment but we went anyways to try it. Mistake! I didn’t take it back because my lunch was over and I didn’t want anything else from them. I don’t know if I’ll try it again maybe sushi instead of a hot dish.

After ordering our food I decided to check Unilocal.Which was my mistake. I saw all the low star reviews and then instantly regretted my decision. To make a long story short: –Service was ok at best. –Food was surprisingly decent. I’m glad I didn’t get any of the horror stories that are featured in other reviews. All in all I might go back if I really had to.

Not a single employee upon my arrival was visible from the customer-side of the counter but I could hear a conversation behind a wall. So I said, «Hello!» and someone came out. This person(the cashier) used good English pronunciation but lacked comprehension as I needed to repeat myself more than once throughout the order. My order was out in short time and it wasn’t long before I realized it was incorrect. So I politely returned to the counter with my Big Bento box to explain the error and the cashier politely asked me if I would like a correction and I affirmed that I would. At this point the chef who had come out from the kitchen behind the wall, spoke to the cashier in a language other than English and appeared to be scowling. I politely spoke to the chef in an attempt to learn if something was the matter and that person ignored me while continuing to speak with apparent anger to the cashier in a language other than English. Sensing the cashier was being distressed I pressed on politely and with a smile to the chef who was visibly upset, in attempt to explain the miscommunication in the order. The chef finally turned towards me and exclaimed, «Too much money!» while waiving one hand in the air and then walked back to the kitchen. The cashier smiled politely throughout the ordeal and assured me that the exchange was okay. I then asked the cashier if there was a problem and I was told that the correct order should be charged a dollar more than I paid. I politely paid the extra dollar and returned to my seat to wait for the correct order. As before, my order came out in short time. Not long after beginning to eat it, I noticed one of my pot stickers was wrapped in two human hairs. They were 1 – 2 inches each in length and seemed to match the hair color and texture of the chef’s hair. Now the two employees were chatting with each other in a non-English language as I politely approached the counter again with my Big Bento box to point out the apparent mistake. The chef ignored me once again but spoke to the cashier. The cashier asked me if I would like a replacement and I affirmed that I would. The chef then spoke to the cashier again in a non-English language, then laughed, and then returned to the kitchen. I returned to my seat to wait once again. While waiting I returned to the counter and leaned over to see if the hair-covered pot sticker was still in my Big Bento box which was placed behind the counter. I noticed the cashier sweeping the floor and picking up objects from it with bare hands. I asked to see my box and the cashier, without washing hands and without wearing gloves picked up my box with a thumb inside and placed it on the counter for me to see. The cashier then told me that the chef took the hair-laced pot sticker back to the kitchen. I returned to my seat to wait some more. The order came out and as I sat down to eat it, I thought: 1. Where’s the courtesy, the service? 2. Why am I paying for this? 3. Why am I eating this? 4. What was the chef saying to the cashier and why did the chef laugh? 5. Were the new pot stickers fried in the same oil and cookware as the hairy one? 6. Was the hairy one just cooked again without the hair? I looked at my food, gagged, and left without eating it. For the price, the little food I did taste wasn’t bad, especially considering the convenience of eating in the mall. However I do expect service, decency, and courtesy which were lacking.

DISGUSTING and a rip-off. Never come here. The quality of food is like something you’d eat if you were doing time for your sins in hell. Dirty, unorganized staff that barely speak english, and $ 5 for ramen? I don’t even know how this store is still in the mall and thriving. Don’t even get me started on their«drinks». Just …just no.

Zero stars? The menu boards are confusing, there’s tape covering some items, there’s a ridiculous product display board to give the place a bazaar feeling(iPhone cases, anyone? Used ricenroll dishware?) The servers are clearly beleaguered, probably understaffed, and at the end of the story — I got a substantial plastic box that should be re-usable, filled with food. Well, you know what? A bento box isn’t a bunch of food items crammed together, is it? It would be a stretch to call the food, «Good.» In fact, it would be hard to call any part of the experience, «good.»

Ricenroll is an alright place if you’re looking for cheap sushi in Bellesquare mall. I would stick with the rolls, don’t get too fancy. So: * No soup * Teriyaki is ok * Rolls are about the same or better as grocery store * Nigiri is so-so I’ve been there on weekends where the staff is alright, and on weekday lunchtime where they just seem really depressed. Sad sushi? I’m giving this three stars because the place is ok, but a lot of the«whatevs here’s your food, I’m a sad mall employee» side. I would come back here if I wanted just rolls, and was in Bellesquare mall. You do get quite a bit of food with your money, especially if you get a bento. Otherwise, maybe I’d venture to QFC for similarly priced sushi. If you go to the other neighboring competition(Blue C) you will pay quite a bit more.

On 7.23.13, I visited Rice N Roll regarding your complaint of lukewarm sushi and dirty soybeans. At the time of my visit, I observed five rolls of premade sushi stored on top of the cold holding inserts cold held at 48F–58 °F. The other ingredients to make sushi that were properly stored directly inside the cold holding insert were: The shrimp spring rolls in the lower reach in cooler was 42 °F. The surimi and tuna fish in the cold holding inserts were 40 °F. The Food Code WAC246 – 215 requires potentially hazardous foods such as rice, and seafoods to be cold held below 41 °F, with a one degree leeway. The temperature observed tells me that the cold holding equipment was operating according to regulations; however, the food worker should have stored the sushi rolls directly inside the refrigerator so that it could reach below 41 °F
