Main course was average for the price. $ 44 for two and no alcohol before tip. I had a sausage dish in a red sauce and there was two small pieces of potatoes and maybe 5 pieces of vegetables. No pasta. Also the salad was ice berg with Parmesan cheese and dressing only. My wife had chicken Marsala and hers was served same way. We were part of a large group and our server did a good job but we will not return.

I can’t believe this place has 4 stars. The service was GREAT but the food, drink, and atmosphere was definitely a 1 star. I’m sorry, Angelo’s. I’ve been wanting to find our go-to Italian restaurant but your Italian food was not very good. The food is overpriced for the lack of quality and flavor. The bread that came in the bread basket was slices of hard and stale bread with sesame seeds on the outside. We were expecting warm, soft and chewy sourdough or french bread. The tomato sauce on the pasta didn’t have much taste. The store bought marinara in jars taste better. I’m sorry to say. The place is old and the atmosphere isn’t very nice. Definitely 5 stars for the service though. I had to give a 1 star review because I was disappointed in the food.

I’m just going to come out and say it. Based on the reviews, Angelo’s is one of the biggest let downs I have had on Unilocal in quite a while. For the price of three,($ 75) we really could have done so much better. We ate here on Monday, the 18th. Arrived at 5:45, the restaurant at this time was about ½ full. Initially, we were seated promptly by the hostess. She brought out bread and water. Things were looking good. Well, this is where things started going south in a hurry. Our waiter, after giving us a few minutes to look at the menu, disappeared. He was gone for a good 10 minutes. I’m a patient guy, and decided to let that go. He finally, returned and we ordered. The guy was maybe a freshman in college and I’m not sure if he was new or what. His service needs some work. This comes into play later. So now we go into waiting mode. Let me tell you, it was a long wait. At this time, 6:40, the place is full, and it is clear there was not enough staffing. However, you can’t have people waiting 55 minutes for an order of three. Totally and completely unacceptable. To top that off, no one checked on us once, asked us how the food was(which was pretty average for $ 75) or filled up our water. The hostess came back about five minutes before we left and left us a carafe of water. At this point, we are all pretty pissed about how the meal went down. What did we order? I had the spaghetti w/the House meat sauce and some Italian Sausage. My wife ordered the Piccata and my son had the Sausage & Peppers. I will say, my order was above average. My wife and son’s were just a C. The Piccata was ok, the Sausage & Peppers tasted like they were cooked in too much wine. I wanted to like Angelo’s. I really did. But after dealing with the above scenarios, the likelihood of a return visit is extremely unlikely. You have to take care of the people when they come to your establishment. I have worked in the food industry and know that you can have nights like this. However, you have to be able to ensure that every person is taken care of and feel like they are part of the close family atmosphere that Angelo’s is trying to provide. Unfortunately, I felt like we were let down.

Angelo’s has delicious Italian food and big cozy booths — great for date night! They’ve always got great specials in addition to the yummy menu, so we can keep coming back for more and trying new flavors. Great service, delicious and authentic recipes — one of my favorite restaurants in Bellevue.

We went to Angelo’s for my Mom’s birthday dinner. Angelo’s had a fun, retro vibe — madmen-esque. Good selection on the menu. We had clams and mushrooms in white wine sauce for an appetizer. For dinner, I had the filet mignon marsala and it was delicious and a pretty decent size portion. For dinner, mom had tiramisu that we all shared and cleaned the plate! The place was super busy, so I’d suggest reservations. If you want one of their fun booths — mention that because they are all reserved when you get there otherwise. Service was a tiny bit slow, since the place was so busy — but friendly! I’d come here again.

I’m torn about Angelos. I like the retro Italian vibe and great bar. Their service is also excellent. However, the food needs a major upgrade on quality and portions for the price. On multiple visits I’ve tried veal Marsala, chicken piccata, fettuccini Alfredo, filet, and cannelloni. They are all ok but very small portions. The desserts are dated and pretty poor. If you go, order a pasta dish or just drink in the bar.

Ended up here after striking out at all the Bellevue Square places on a Sunday night with a party of 12. Our large group was quickly seated and there was enough variety to meet everyone’s various food restrictions(gluten free, dairy free, doesn’t like pasta… you know the drill). This is a homey place with solid Italian fare — nothing to knock your socks off, but decent all around. The dishes are well-prepared and frankly, much better than I would have expected for the random strip mall location; they come with a side of soup or salad as well. They even had some interesting specials like a squid ink spaghetti, which I ended up ordering and was pretty good. They avoid the overkill that a lot of Italian chain places suffer from and stick to the basics. A-OK in my book.

Nice, family feel, casual, and cozy. It reminded me of our home town Italian family place at first. Then they only had Italian wines only, no regional wines at all, the bread was plain with no olive oil or basalmic vinegar to dip it in, and the butter was so so as well. Service was good, all smiles, pleasant to talk. Food, plan and just ok as well. The pesto and linguini had just enough flavor to be one step above store bought. I’m used to Sauce! Flavorful, Robust, Tasty, add some garlic and real parmesan cheese for a change. I didn’t spit it out or ask for something else because it was edible just not fabulous. So sad, I was hoping to post a really good review. Bummed out…

Well… After reading the reviews on Unilocal, and getting there to find the parking lot full on a week night, we were pretty excited about this place. The fact that it is next door to The Seattle Wine Company got me excited about the wine potential… But… Starting with the wine list: ALL of their wines are Italian. Being from California we both find Old World wines to be pretty one dimensional and dull as dish water… And they were. My wife ordered linguine with pesto sauce and a Caesar salad. The salad was not a true salad in the sense that it was a blend of vegetables, it was a pile if iceberg lettuce with mediocre dressing. The salad issues have been covered in other reviews of this place. The pasta dish was sorely lacking sauce. My wife called it linguine with a hint of pesto. I ordered the seafood canneloni and Italian bean soup. The soup was good, but it really wasn’t any different than the bean soup you got in the cafeteria when you were a kid. It was good but there was nothing about it to make it stand out, and that would be so easy to do. The seafood canneloni was SWIMMING in sauce. I mean as much sauce as they put on it you could have stuffed the pasta with bologna and no one could have told the difference. I’m sorry, but there was just nothing about this place to make it memorable other than its mediocrity. I’m giving it 3 stars because the staff was great, other than that I would go with 2.

I have been going to this Restaurant for years. Family owned by the Ricci’s, started by Angelo my good friends grandfather years ago in Burien. I am lucky enough to be family friends with the Ricci’s that live in Bellevue and run and own the Bellevue restaurant. I have never had a bad experience here. Traditional Spaghetti and Meatballs is my go to meal with the Roquefort Salad. Chicken Marsala, Manzo Salad, Seafood Cannelloni, among many others are also excellent. If you are lucky and they have Prawns in their specials for the night YOUHAVETO ask them to to make their Sambuca Prawn Appetizer, hands down my favorite thing they make here! Ask for it! Also their Clam Chowder which they only have twice a week is to die for! Highly recommend this place.

Great find– after disappointing dinner the night before and awful lunch experience in Woodenville, we were pleasantly surprised. Greeted by a friendly host we requested a booth. We did bring our own Brunello as the wine list on their website is very poor. Only to have another surprise– the wine list they provided at teh table is great– as I love Italian(Tuscan) wine was amazed they had Brunello Di Montalcino from Castiglion del Bosco– where I actually stayed on their property last year. This was like a miracle! The caprese salad as app was fantastic, nice mixed greens as well along with tomato and fresh mozz, nice balsamic reduction. The house salads that came with the meals were not that great– very dry and forgettable fro sure. However, they were flexible enough due to my dietary needs that made me a special pasta which was not exactly what I asked for(vodka cream sauce) but did teh job and was good. The chicken Marsala sauce was one of the best I ever tasted and surely the veggies were fresh as well. The portions are generous, the staff very friendly, the bathrooms clean and the prices very reasonable. Will definitely come back the next time I am in Bellevue area.

Visited Angelo’s for the first time since I was a kid last night. We were greeted promptly upon entering and shown to our table. The service staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the seafood cannelloni and enjoyed it very much. I am not very highbrow when it comes to dining — I am usually looking for food that tastes good and is served promptly. Both of those were met. The menu is fairly limited with a few items in each category(fish, meat, chicken, pasta) but I kind of like that. I hate when I go to a restaurant and I am handed a novel of a menu. My least favorite part was the salad. It was pretty underwhelming. I actually like the dressing(house dressing) but the salad itself was damp iceberg lettuce with a smattering of purple cabbage. I ate it — it didn’t really taste too bad, but was a pretty pitiful showing for a dinner salad. I will definitely return to Angelo’s for more good food.

Came here for an impromptu dinner. The service was great but the food was just okay. It’s more like a family style diner with Italian food. The bread was cold, and it was not until we asked that the waiter heated it up. The pasta was good, but not impressive.

I love this hidden Italian restaurant! The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The old school bar is GREAT! Love the vintage look, but would like to see old Italian photos on the walls rather than the blasé’ decorations. Julie, the Bartender was hilarious and very friendly. She made great old school drinks and kept us entertained the whole time. It was like being at Cheers. Will now be a regular at this bar.

This is my go to for Italian food. I had the special which was a smoked salmon pasta dish and it doesn’t get any better. This is also the type of place where the service is genuine and friendly. You can tell that Angelo’s has quite a few loyal customers, many keep coming back.

First time going here. The setting is beautiful in the also beautiful city of Bellevue. I got the Chicken Alfredo and it was very good. It was a very nice place to sit and enjoy dinner, however, the bread with my pasta was just sour dough with butter which I thought could have completed my dish for a 5 star

I know it has history and the older crowd likes this place. But sorry, most of the dishes are average at best. Last time I got the clams linquini and they were obviously frozen and rubbery clams. Most of the sauces taste about like Prego. Bread is about like they got it at a store, took it out of the bag, and served it. My wife got the penne with proscutto and peas last time. It was oily, there was barely any proscutto, and it didn’t have much flavor. It wasn’t awful, but not worth the 15 plus dollars. There isn’t much around Bellevue for Italian but Maggianos is better and Firenze is also better.

Walking into Angelo’s felt like a «welcome home!» Tracy let me choose my seat and immediately brought some ice water. As I looked around, I noticed an older crowd instead of the corporate yuppies that frequent the restaurants nearer to my office. I ordered prosciutto penne with peas, but a few minutes later, Tracy came back and explained she had forgotten to tell me the specials. She recommended the chicken manicotti and clam chowder. Sold. I went to wash my hands, and noticed someone’s huge makeup bag, taking up most of the room on the counter in the bathroom. I flagged down Tracy and she told me the bartender keeps her makeup bag there for frequent touch-ups. I thought that to be a bit strange and borderline unsanitary, but it was just testament to the«family vibe» of the restaurant. The indoor air temperature was a bit on the chilly side, so it cooled off the warm food very quickly, but the flavors were on point. The manicotti was a perfect thickness; tender, and the bolognese and béchamel sauces were bursting with flavor. The clam chowder had dill and basil in it, giving it a very fresh flavor. Yummy! I remember having dessert, thinking it was underwhelming. I almost felt badly for not loving it after Tracy’s enthusiasm over the food. I can’t remember what it was that I ate… which may be a good thing because it wasn’t that I’d note to never order it again :) The food was decent to above average, overall, but the best part of the experience was the service. Tracy is bubbly, energetic, has a sweet disposition, and ensured my water glass was full and my requests were fulfilled promptly. She is also very knowledgable about the business’ history, the dishes on and off the menu, and the ownership. I also noticed that she was a tremendous multi-tasker, ensuring all patrons were addressed warmly, while serving hot food and also acting as the hostess, working and conversing simultaneously, making everyone feel like a VIP. Impressive.

I’ve been dining here with my family at least twice a month for over 5 years. I read the glowing and the poor reviews and I think it comes down to what you value. Yes, there are Italian restaurants with better food, better presentation, and more authenticity but only one one the Eastside that I’d say is consistently better. However, we are regulars here because we’re treated like family, we can order off the menu, they happily deal with our custom orders, our kids love it, and the wait staff are always friendly. This is akin to the hole in the wall bar that doesn’t have a mixologist but the beer is ice cold, the tunes are just right, and you feel at home.
