We had been apart of this gym for 5 season ending with this past season. In that 5 seasons we saw a drastic change in the overall quality of the gym. When we started, the gym was always full of kids, teams had strong tumbling and cutting edge routines. Gradually over the next few seasons the numbers started to dwindle, crossovers between teams were out of control, some kids crossing over to not one or two teams but three and four teams, and not generally something they volunteered for. Coach turnover rate is incredibly high, in our time we would see three coaches come and go over the course of one season. The owner is incredibly arrogant and gives you the feeling that he is an expert in the field but realistically he is so far out of touch with what is considered new and fresh in this industry that you just can’t trust anything he says. The ‘national champion’ titles they are advertising were won in a division that they were the only team competing in. I have not seen any team there take 1st place in several seasons when they were up against other teams and more times then often take the bottom three of their division. The final straw for me was dragging 3 losing teams all the way to Hawaii for a competition. We had consistently lost all season locally and the idea of forking over any more money into this gym to lose made me want to wrap this season up quickly. Brian, the owner/coach picks national competitions that are way beyond the scope of what this sleepy little gym should be competing at. Start strengthening your teams so they have a good showing at the larger local competitions and then start branching out. But subjecting these girls to NCA was a disaster we all saw coming. Instead of competing in local competitions he drags them out of state several times a season so the travel costs are by far more then any gym in the area. I get the strong feeling that Brian has done a lot of local parents wrong so he takes his teams so far out of state to avoid interactions between him and past athletes parents. Please double check any information he gives to you. He is NOT the cheapest, he does not have the biggest facility in Western WA, he should not be coaching children. Period. My girls run the opposite direction of him when we do see him at competitions. They are so scarred from the way he treated them. Now that we have joined another local gym, I am beginning to hear more and more horror stories about others’ experiences with Action. Already I have seen changes in both my girls tumbling, flying and self esteem. There are several other options in the area and I would encourage others to explore those as well before settling with Action. If your childs end goal is a worlds or summit team, please be aware this gym has never received a bid to either in the 12 years that they have been in business. Proceed with caution.

We have been at this cheer gym for 6 years now. Both of my girls love it! Coach/Owner Brian Antich is the best! With competitive cheer, hip hop and a tramp and tumbling team the Action Athletics Gym is a winner.
