How discusted I feel that people are judging an ER, I give 5 stars to ALL the staff as you have a traumatic job! People writing these reviews are just peasants to you.

Once you make it through the ER you are golden. Words can not describe how horrible it is to work your way through the maze of their ER. The staff was nice and doing their best to accommodate you when you are suffering. I presented with chest pains and vomiting. I was put in a chair, not a bed because they did not have one. Have you ever had chest pains and you sit upright, yeah they get worse. The staff was trying their best to make me comfortable. After four hours I finally got a bed. I was finally diagnosed with a bad appendix and was quickly on my way to surgery. The rest of my stay was amazing. My nurses truly cared for me, and I felt like I could recover without any more incidents.

Unfortunately my husband’s doctor from Barnes called memorial assuming this is where we would want to go in case of emergency. Not true at all. He came in via ambulance 40 minutes ago and is still not checked In. Thus I am being held in the waiting room and. I have yet to see him. He had arrived at memorial via ambulance and his cardiologist called ahead with diagnosis and treAtment orders. He needed blood immediately! He didn’t get admitted for 7 hours and only then started to get the blood. When I arrived the next day here’s what I found:
He was in the same gown he got in the emergency room 24 hrs earlier
The commode was dirty
His IV was leaking
Dirty linen on the floor
He was never offered a basin of water to clean up
It took 3 requests to get ice chips
His room was a mess; used drinking and medicine cups. His clothes were sitting in a messy heap on the bedside stand.
Then a demented screaming individual was admitted into his room. He gathered his belongings IV stand and a chAir and sat in the hall because the noise was intolerable. After a long delay he was moved to another room. Generally horrible experience.

Absolutely horrific experience here in the ER. The nurse was completely clueless and made some mistakes. The doctor had a terrible attitude, was snooty and literally made us wait an hour in between updates, something as simple as making a phone call to another specialist took an hour and then once that was done we were totally ignored. At 3 AM you would think people could be a little more considerate. We could have left but instead were made to sit in the room for two hours.
Avoid this place if possible. Would have gone to a totally different hospital if had known it would have been this bad.
