The Laser Tag is cool. But the people that are hanging around that place are whom you don’t want your kids to be around. Fight broke out both times we’ve been there. They need to hire security and if they don’t I see the customers not wanting to pay to have their kids in a violent place. LOVETHEBISTROTHEATERS!!!

I’m 31 years old, and I love playing laser tag. It’s a good thing the largest indoor laser tag arena in the country(or so I’ve heard) is here in Belleville — Laser Rock at the Edge. The Edge is a family fun center that has a bar, a birthday area, an arcade, mini golf and the laser tag arena. It’s somewhat run down, though they improve things every few years to make the place look better. The laser tag arena is definitely the main draw, and well worth the money, especially if you go on all-you-can-play nights. Each player is equipped with a vest and gun. The indoor arena is a giant maze with a forest theme. The game can get pretty chaotic, but those who take the time to learn the basics can usually do very well. Scoresheets are available following each game. The maze itself is multi-story and spans a fairly large area. They change it around regularly to keep the layout from getting stale. What I like about laser tag is that it gets you some pretty good exercise without ever feeling dull. The people who play are generally a good mix of little kids, parents, teenagers, college kids and military folks. Games typically last for 15 minutes, which is the right amount of time for a round. Games are staggered, so when you sign up, you’re given passes for games that have scheduled breaks in between. That gives you time to cool off, get a drink, and sit down for a minute. Because the maze uses lots of UV lights that make white fabric glow blue, I recommend wearing dark clothing and shoes. Adults can hang out in the bar(D.S. Vespers) while the kids play. The bar has trivia and is a popular hangout for sporting events. Sometimes, the bar is more crowded than the laser tag arena. Laser Rock is a popular place to go, but definitely a lot more fun than a lot of the other activities in the area. It’s also a little bit more expensive, so be prepared to shell out around $ 20 a person for a few games. Fortunately, it’s totally worth it.
