I was one of the bridesmaids for my best friends wedding. She was so upset at the end of her reception and felt so helpless that I am taking it upon myself to write this review. Ellie during the entire planning process and execution was difficult to get a hold of and keep on track. She deliberately ignored the brides wishes to keep the buffet open for a full hour so guests running late to dinner would not be able to eat. She did not advise the staff in serving sizes of the cake. Who serves 4“x4″ pieces of cake?! She did not provide water, tea, soda to any of the guests until well into an hour into the reception and when approached by many guests for water, she told them it would not be served until dinner was served. She then directed them to the bar for beverages. The reception hall only has 4 high chairs in stock and when we pulled them from storage, they were covered in dry food. If you have children coming to your reception, make sure they bring their own booster seats because they have none. I was also informed during the planning process of how they charge things and how the contract is for couples. She will promise you that you can select your own beers and wines to be stocked at the bar dependent on their 3 distributors. But once you sign the contract AND do the final head count, she will tell you she never agreed to that and tell you only Budweiser would be stocked along with Box Zinfandel(Franzia). You better know a full year in advance also if you want to stay with them because the Responsibilities of payment section is very one sided. If you cancel the reservation 4 months before the set date, you owe them $ 45/person for the minimum number, which is 175. She will also tell you the total price per person will equate to $ 45/person due to a sales tax and Operations fee of 20%. But actually is $ 56/person. With this information, I hope future brides will not be taken advantage of nor feel their special evening is ruined by a callous site manager.

I was invited to give a presentation for a luncheon. Bellecourt place is an old Baptist church, that the new owners have renovated into a banquet center. The downstairs is divided into two meeting rooms and the upstairs is open to one big room that can be used for a small private weddings etc… The people that own this place also own the Pie Pantry. So that means they have wonderful desserts, which is great because the main course was not so good. That is why they got 4 stars and not 3 stars. We were served homemade cream of mushroom soup, some kind of pasta dish and chicken parmesan. The cheese on top of the chicken looked rubbery, and according to the lady sitting next to me it tasted rubbery as well. The pasta was crusty and not very tasty. Thank heavens for the chocolate meringue pie.
