La Palma Mexican Restaurant

Pretty general Mexican food in a small city… however, I had a rock in my rice. Yes, I bit down and crunch. How? I don’t know but yes, a rock in my rice.

AWFUL service. I’ve given this place plenty of tries just thinking maybe they had an off day. But every time I’ve been it’s been terrible. I have had a different sever every time I’ve gone, and they have all done the same exact thing. Now, I have been at busy times, but have also been at very quiet times as well. They would take forever to get our orders. Never fill our drinks. Not ask us how our food is. And when we are done, I’ve waited almost 20 minutes for the check and a box for leftovers. Also, they tried to argue with me about my check once, which was wrong (food that we hadn’t ordered or received) and would have cost way more. The food is actually really good, but I will not go back due to the service.

Super fast and VERY friendly service! Pretty standard Tex/​Mex, with a couple of surprises (SHOULD have tried the molcajete, or maybe one of the two or three options with pineapples…) but was just here for a quick late lunch/​early dinner on a Sunday and just went with a steak quesadilla, which was fine. Mr. M&P enjoyed his taquitos and ENORMOUS Negra Modelo draft! Why do LARGE drafts in Mexican restaurants always make you look like you’re drinking out of a vase?!?
Happened on this place while out on a Sunday afternoon road trip «up north…» Looks like it used to possibly be a Frisches/​Big Boy (still has the drive thru!!!) and there’s tons of space for big groups or smaller tables… They’ve REALLY out-​done themselves with the décor! The booths are all beautifully hand-​painted wood from Patzcuaro, Mx. (not cheap!!), there’s a lovely talavera sink in the ladies room (wish I could have grabbed it and taken it home with me!!) and lots of colorful artesania/​knick-​knacks scattered through out without being too tacky… I lived for five years in Mexico and while this place (and others like it) are far from «authentic» or whatever food snobs are pretending to think is «real» Mexican, it’s more than good enough for a «homesick» quick fix!!!

We enjoyed our food a lot there were tons of choices! But the margaritas weren’t strong enough even after we asked for more tequila. Service was good, we would come back.

VERY good food, incredibly fast preparation, friendly wait staff. It all added up to making me glad I chose La Palma over one of the many chain restaurants on US 68 in Bellefountaine.
The chips and salsa to start were excellent, and my order was taken promptly.
I had the beef chimichanga, which came to the table quickly and hot. The guacamole was good, which isn’t always the case at small restaurants.
Scanning the rest of the menu, I was impressed with both the variety of entrees as well as the modest prices.
All in all, a pleasant find — I’ll be back.

This is one of the best if not the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to! We have never gotten bad service or a bad meal at LA PALMA in Bellefontaine Ohio.

I like this place don’t really have any complaints I’ve been here several times service is always pretty fast and the food is not bad I like the chips and salsa! and combination fajitas

Some of the best mexican food I have had in a while!!! Loved the salsa, I prefer a milder salsa. Good portion size and fast service.

Decent Mexican food. karaōke is very very weird

I like this place. I meet my family here (as Bellefontaine is halfway between our houses).
This place is never overly crowded in the afternoon. The staff is real nice, always smiling.
The food is what you’d expect from a typical Mexican restaurant.
Spacious seating, room for lots of people.
