Smokey Joe’s

Liked the sauce. The problem… the ribs were so covered with sauce… maybe put some on and put the rest on the side. Then, the ribs were a little on the tough side… overcooked. Ordered potato chips that were good, homemade, but twice as expensive as the homemade fries. Did not realize when ordering but then when told the price of the meal, questioned why. They were really expensive chips!

Stopped by today. Didn’t realize it was their first day… They should not have opened today… They were not ready. Everything was complete chaos, cash register didn’t work, credit card machine didn’t work. We ordered a special of ¼ chicken, 1 pork chop, and a side of beans. Each item came in it’s own boat… no plates here, just plastic utensils. My husband broke his fork cutting the chop, had to get another plastic utensil. I received a pork steak instead of a chop… very hard to cut, not very tender. We tried to tell the waitress that this was not a chop, but a steak, but she said, well that is what they gave me. All the meat was swimming in sauce… hot sauce… no one asked us what kind of sauce we wanted. The chicken was just lukewarm under the sauce. The beans were prepackage in a styrofoam bowl with a lid, cold right out of the refrigerator. My son ordered a burger with fries with cheddar cheese. The fries came first, no cheese, we sent them back. FInally the burger and fries came, still no cheese on the fries, I told my son to forget it. By this time the fries were cold and swimming in grease. Needless to say, this is the worst «BBQ» place I have ever eaten at. The chicken did have a smokey flavor, but they are just using regular would in a smoker grill outside instead of using any hickory, mesquite or Apple wood. I hope they can get their act together in the future. There were several people waiting for food and everyone was getting impatient because it was taking forever to get your food. They also sell Pizza, but I did not try the pizza.
