As a navy spouse I have spent weeks at a time living in navy lodging. I have never had the sort of problem I did with this place. My mom spent over 30 minutes looking for building 469. What on earth. Buildings would occasionally have small labels but they were not properly labeled, I had to keep getting out of the car to figure out which building was which. It was impossible. My mother and I both have masters degrees and we aren’t stupid people but we couldn’t find this freaking building. To me that says that there is a problem. A hotel shouldn’t be a maze. We finally went back and asked the girl who gave the poor directions for help. After driving for twelve hours we just wanted to get in bed and eat our(now cold) hamburgers. Very unimpressed.

One of the nicest lodging hotels we have ever stayed at. It is always a hit or miss with military lodging. You really never know what you will get. I was quite pleased whenever I got settled in here. It is clean and spacious. We only payed 70 $.

We’ve stayed in Navy Gateway Inns all over the world, but this is the pick of the litter. Great location reasonably close to New Orleans. Very clean. Recently refurbished rooms. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Very quiet. Bottom line: All the usual benefits of good pricing and value, plus the peace of mind that comes from being in a very safe and secure location within a not-so-safe metro area like NOLA.
