I went into Main Street Music because their sign shows that they sell used music gear, and I need to sell the alto saxophone I played back in high school. The employees were friendly, and let me know that I needed to come back at a time that the owner would be working since he makes all the decisions regarding buying used instruments. So, I went back a few days later with my alto sax and my boyfriend’s tenor to find out what they were worth and if the owner was interested. I might have caught him on a bad day, but I found the owner to be very rude. He didn’t have the time to speak to me politely, and gruffly offered me $ 75 for my saxophone(it cost $ 1000 when my parents bought it). He wouldn’t even look at the tenor. Altogether, my experience in the store was pretty awful. No, I am not a musician so I probably wouldn’t go back to purchase anything there, but I was so turned off by the owner’s attitude that I would not recommend this business to others.
