This is where I buy European licorice. I haven’t seen anywhere else except online. I wish they carried Black Tire Track Licorice and Haribo Pontefract Cakes, too. You can also pick up asian dishes and utensils. I picked up some little dipping sauce dishes for my sister, to use when we eat sushi. They sell interesting tables and chairs. You can also buy nice glass vases. They sell asian themed furnishings. If you want to feng shui your house, you can buy certain knickknacks here. It is a fun store.

I love you World Market! I am addicted to the imported from india quilts/blankets. The pillow cases I bought from there are the best i’ve ever had. They wash well, they are imported from India and the dye never fades. You can get 2 for $ 14.99 and they even have matching duvet covers. The pricing various and they always have some sale, coupon or special going on. Check the website for the latest sales. The customer service has always been great, and they are normally easy to find in the store. They carry: Furniture, bedding, lamps/lights, garden stuff, wall décor, imported clothing and jewelery, and kitchen items.

Refund Policy, Customer Service So I love the store and going in there and finding lots of unique things. Great selection. HOWEVER, this time I found the aisle for clearance items. I found some licorice that was ½ price. Normally a $ 3.99 small bag. Odd company name, and thought if it is this expensive, it must be good. The godiva of licorice if you will. Well unfortunately it was horrible. I had bought 2 bags, 2 flavors. Yuck. I thought it was me so had family members try it. It had a horrible chemical taste and consistency was horrible. I’ll stick to the red swizzle at HEB. I decide for the heck of it to take it back the next day for a refund. I was told open packages don’t get refunded, or store credit. I insist. Then the next excuse is that all clearance items are non-refundable. I give up. I come home and read in the entirety the receipt and it says I can get a refund as long as I have a receipt. I had walked back to the store clearance areas and NO where did it say clearance items are non-refundable. I contact WM online and receive a prompt, we will respond to you shortly. Well I never got a response. And I threw the candy away. While I may just be out a few dollars, I was alarmed at their customer service. Probably because I was going to buy something much more expensive and larger and when I had originally asked the representative, I said what if I go home and put it together and realize this isn’t what I wanted. No this was not an edible item. She replied, we have a full refund policy with receipt. So just be warned in advance, they pick and choose their refund items. Fine print somewhere. 07/21/2015: Update. I finally got an answer from Stephanie the store manager on this. Apparently for almost a month my complaint went different places. In fact for a week I had an email from Corporate asking for the specifics of the situation. Since the candy had been thrown away and surely the receipt to, I did not respond. But today I did find the receipt. I sent it to Corporate, and this afternoon, Stephanie contacted me. We discussed the situation and I truly believe it was perhaps a new associated that was not clear on policy. Situation is resolved, I’m going back to World Market soon. Stephanie’s empathy has restored my faith on a business taking the time and reaching out to their Customers.

Stephanie at this location is just awesome. I’m in Houston and was trying to locate a discontinued item, and she picked up the ball and ran with it. Fast and far. She took the initiative to contact several other stores and coordinated a call between a store in AZ and my local store. Who does that? I hope someone in management reads this and gives this girl a huge raise. I don’t know whether my quest will have a happy ending or not, but my experience was stellar, thanks to her help and great attitude. If I lived in Austin, I would totally buy her a beer or three. Thanks, Steph!

I fell in love the moment I walked in the door. I was able to score some hibiscus tea I had been searching for, violet mints, amazing chamomile lavender body wash and lotion and gifts for my friend. The best part was Kim who helped me find what I was looking for and gave me recommendations for other places around town where I might be able to find lavender soda and lavender treats. She was so passionate and really made my trip memorable.

So I ordered on the 5th, called to cancel over a week ago, and today, the 25th, the sofa is sitting on a dock somewhere in Austin and World Market has never called me back as promised. What a mess!

I love all the random things I can find here. I usually stop in for wine, international hard to find candy and snacks for parties and leave with random other items like throw pillows, toys, a kite, a shower curtain, Vegemite or a new pair of earrings. They have some amazing deals on wine and often have in store wine tasting AND you can return a wine if you get it home and do not like it. Membership is free you just have to sign up and you get discounted prices plus 10% off if you purchase 4 or more bottles. I always find new wines here that are down right cheap — most recently I picked up an Opera Prima ’10 Tempranillo for only 3.49 and a new favorite Rex Goliath Cabernet only 5.29 plus 2 old favorites Genesis and Norton Merlot. They also have a great selection of international candies heavy on the gummies(Haribo and Kasugai) and chocolates. I LOVE their WM brand Chipotle Chili Dark Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Espresso Beans and I rarely leave without a bag of Haribo Raspberry Gummies! The employees are always super friendly and helpful and I always leave happy.

I can’t help it, I love this store. However, since I live in a RV, there’s little room for all the fun stuff they have. I mostly use them for an interesting choice in beer and wine and for my Illy coffee beans and coffee syrups. The staff is always very helpful and willing to search if you can’t find what you are looking for. BTW, the Bunderburg Ginger Beer they carry is outstanding. Try it… but leave some for me, OK?

If you grew up in the 80’s, you might remember how cool Pier One used to be. World Market gets close to that these days. Interesting selection of international cho-cho, inexpensive home furnishings that aren’t the cheapest made pieces of garbage on the market, and some interesting food selections. I don’t shop the wine or beer for the most part though. No particular reason, but I never see killer deals and they don’t have a cooler for the beer. Coffee and teas are available here too, but again, infrequent deals to rival Sun Harvest or Spec’s don’t drag me in.
