If I could give zero stars, I would. Totally overrated and very expensive. When you look at the menu, prices seem OK. When you get the actual food, the portions are way too small. The salad size is a total joke for $ 8 – 9! I’ve never had a salad this small! They try to get you full on the crappy cheese, stale bread, and apples full of GMO. When you get the tiny entrée, you feel like you’re full. Total ripoff. Beware of the extra hidden fees. If you don’t order the 4 course meal, they tack on an extra $ 9 per person for extra cheese in the fondue. We didn’t know until we got the check. Luckily, manager was nice enough to take off that charge but refused to do anything about the salads, even though, we made it clear to waitress that the salad was the dinner. It wasn’t even a size of a side salad. More like an after thought. I’ll never go back. Can’t see how this place will last. Save your money, time and your sanity, go elsewhere. If you like to waste money, flush it down the toilet. At least, you won’t get constipated from the crappy bagged shredded cheese they pass off for the fondue. Ughhhh So aggravated I wasted so much money on sh*t! I like to spend on good food but not to waste on this. This was awful! Never again.

Beware when you make reservations for this place. We had never been to Melting Pot and finally decided to give it a try last night. Made a reservation through Open Table and once we arrived at the restaurant, we were informed by the hostess that the reservation time was for a later time even though Open Table showed it confirmed for the earlier time. We were extremely disappointed that our options were either to wait 30 minutes or walk out. The hostess said that they didn’t have enough wait staff to accommodate us on a Thursday evening. It’s obvious that the restaurant changed the reservation time without notifying us or Open Table. Needless to say that I won’t be trying Melting Pot at this location. I wish I could give them a great review but with this bad experience at their door, I’d caution others to be careful when making reservations online.

Love the idea of this restaurant! 4 — course meal consisting of a cheese, broth, and chocolate fondue(and also a salad somewhere kn the middle). While this was a great experience and I have been here a few times now, I recommend skipping the«main» broth fondue and doing cheese and chocolate. it’s a lot of food! If you want all 4 courses, just prepare to be there a while and go ok an empty stomach! Service is great– waitress friendly and mindful. Also the manager came over to check in on us. super sweet :)

Ok so my last review was from a visit that went«less than perfect» and because of that review I received a note from the Owner recently. She was VERY nice & apologized for not having been contacted sooner and that she wanted me to come back to give the Melting Pot another shot… So instantly you know where my mind went. DATENIGHT — No Kids, IMTHERE!!! So tonight we went(and Open Table allowed me to reserve — so I also got points!!!) Showed up a little early(ooh and we got dressed up — for us, and I wore Heels!!! LOL — To know me would have you giggling) Showed up and the Owner(Cate) instantly came right out to greet us & walked us to the Table… Which was so cozy, they are like little booths in cocoons and you are allowed such privacy that its just a real cool setting(at least these little seats) I have noticed that there are other booths that are more out in the open… So we had Hannah as a waitress and she might have been the best waitress I have had in a A LONGTIME — ANYWHERE!!! Had we had Hannah(or someone even remotely like her) on our last trips we might have been coming more often. She explained everything, Referred things, Made suggestions, Knew the menu, Knew her stuff and it just made the evening so much more enjoyable. Cheese comes & now Keep in mind for years I have never been able to get the BF here because it «takes too long» according to him… But he was on board & willing to go… Cheese comes & hes already a fan, Ate the whole bucket of bread while I picked at some veggies. We ordered several meats & seafoods/fishes so we had a great variety… There was ample amounts of everything for us to share & pick at, Got the Mojo which was SOOOOO Good… The Coq Au Vin just wasnt my fave from last time & Im sooo glad we got the Mojo, It went with all the food SOOWELL and it was really delish. There were so many sauces, but honestly they didnt need any because the broth was just that good. There was even lots of meats left because you think you need TONS but really you are eating for so long that what looks like just small portions is MORETHANENOUGH! Ooh and the BF tried like every drink on the menu — I sipped on a great wine! Then the chocolate comes &OMG… He had to pried away from the Fondue fork… He might have stuck 4 Rice Krispies in his mouth at once at one point… He needed to be relieved of his plate by the end. The fruits, the Cakes, its all just soo good. We got the Original with PB& Caramel(Per Hannah — she said it was like a Snickers) and it truly was delish… Am glad that I was invited back & had a great time, because I truly do like the experience, I like the fun –ness(yes thats a word) of the dinner, and who doesnt love to just dunk stuff!!! The BFLOVEDIT& wants to already come back(which is ALOT for him — he never likes anything) But we both agreed it might be better to come with another couple next time & just have a fun night!!! But we def plan to come back real soon, Thank you again MP for everything & you totally earned all the stars this time. I pride my reviews and most of my thinking is based on Customer Service, Cate & Hannah went well above & beyond being great hosts tonight & I recommend if you are going to the MP to ask for Hannah(You wont be sorry)

I love this place. It’s so much fun. I went for the girls night out and had the awesome menu. Cheese fondue, chocolate fondue, salt and drink for just $ 25. The only reason I gave 4 star is everytime I go there I feel we are waiting at the table little longer time than most restaurants. But it’s a great place.

This place is great and caters well to large parties! I had a larger company dinner of 20 people to put together and the management was incredible! They answered all of my questions and helped me put together a menu so we could just come in and enjoy the night. The large party room in the front was a great fit. We had a buffet table of cheese set up and then sat for the rest of our courses. The waiters were awesome! They walked us through everything and were very friendly, helpful and took great care of us. I recommend this place to anymore looking for a new experience, great atmosphere and awesome food!

This place is awesome! Fondue is always a good time but this place really does it right! They are extremely professional but also know how to have a good time and create a fun atmosphere. I’d highly recommend the chocolates, may favorite was the dark chocolate YUMYUMYUM PROTIP: The owner says they get booked 50x over for Valentine’s day so book in advance… LIKENOWBOOKITWHATAREYOUWAITINGFOR

I have been to the Melting Pot a number of times. I love fondue. I brought my sister and nieces for cheese and chocolate. When the manager called to confirm the reservation earlier today, I explained I did not see the Fiesta Cheese Fondue on the menu. He said that it was no longer on the menu and they might bring it back in the future. I made a comment that it wouldn’t help my nieces tonight. I knew my nieces were going to be disappointed. When our server Abby came by to greet us, one of my nieces asked about the fiesta cheese. Abby said that is wasn’t on the menu anymore but the manager went out sometime during the day and bought what was needed to make the fiesta cheese fondue. Isn’t that incredible? We had the fiesta cheese fondue and the baked potato cheese fondue. The baked potato fondue sounded like it could be really good or really miss the mark — well it was delish! For chocolate fondue we ordered 3 smalls(there were 5 of us). The flaming turtle — which is made with milk chocolate, caramel and pecans and is flambeed table side; the crème brûlée which is also flambeed table side and lastly the Orignal(chocolate with peanut butter). it is supposed to be milk chocolate but we always substitute white chocolate. It was great. It tastes just like a white reeses peanut butter cup. Our server was fantastic and the owner of the restaurant stopped by the table to see how everything was going. When I mentioned how the manager went out of his way to make sure we had the cheese we wanted, she said they will do that whenever it is possible. This was a great night out!

Went to a «girls night out»… Had a great night… Staff is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about their menu(which is a big plus anywhere you go). This may not be your typical sit down and order a fully prepared meal to be served to you kind of restaurant, but that’s what makes it unique and fun. I would go back again and recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new.

I apologize in advance for a long review, but it isn’t easy to sum this experience up in only a few words. This is one of the weirdest places I have ever been too. Walking into the Melting Pot is like stepping into some completely different universe. It has a weird vibe which is hard to explain, but it is somewhat awkward and unwelcoming. Perhaps it is because the restaurant is partitioned off by walls and booths are separated by large dividers. There is no open concept here in this building and it feels a bit confining. The staff is pleasant enough, but seem somewhat phony as if all their lines have been rehearsed. I have been to Melting Pot twice now. The first time I was very excited to experience the unique concept of this restaurant. I learned quickly that it is the perfect place for a very small pot of melted cheese and chocolate, but do not expect much otherwise. The menu is pricy and selections are rendered very complicated by forcing diners to choose between four-course meals complete with cheese, salad, meat entrée, and dessert or opting to skip the entrée. The four-course meal at Melting Pot is rather pricey. On my first visit I was with a group of friends who were content with skipping the entrée to save on the cost. I was feeling completely ravenous, but went along with the group decision anyway. Since the food is cooked at the table as a group everyone basically has to be on the same page when it comes to food selection. The server comes over and gives a very canned speech about the menu choices and how the whole melting process works. The waitstaff was quite friendly and attentive on both occasions, but I just find their whole presentation very«cheesy» haha!(Yes I did really just say that.) The show continues as the server throws all the ingredients in the little bowl in the middle of the table. Everyone at the table watches the cheese melt in eager anticipation. Who doesn’t like melted cheese right? Well, it’s good, but not great. I’ve tried a couple different cheese mixes thus far and thought both had a rather odd taste. They really skimp on the bread and veggies for dipping, but they will bring more per request. The salad is just basic and nothing special. Dessert is definitely the best part because you just can’t go wrong with melted chocolate. The cheese and chocolate portions are just too small though and don’t seem adequate for a table of four. So, after striking out on my first visit and dropping lots of cash on cheap melted cheese, I actually returned. My second visit to Melting Pot was with a good friend who had been wanting to try it out despite my bad review. I was reluctant to go back, but decided this time to try the entrée. Boy was I sorry I did! It’s one thing to melt the cheese at the table, but I thought the meat would at least be prepared in the kitchen. To my surprise the bowl on the table is filled with oil and you are served a tray of seasoned, but raw meat, chicken, or shrimp selections. The oil bubbles up on the table and then it is time to stick the raw meat in the oil on skewers. This is where it gets crazy! I became very concerned about undercooking the meat and as much as I love cooking at home, I did not find this process enjoyable at all. Chunks of meat were becoming lost in the oil and they would have to be fished out. Oil seemed to be splattering and it was just a slow and messy process cooking the pieces of meat two at a time. The only redeeming factor again of this whole dinner was when they took away the oil and reappeared with the chocolate. So, long story short– the cheese and chocolate are decent, but portions are way too small for groups. Do not come here hungry or you will be hitting up McDonalds on the way home. I find it very«gimmick-ky» and honestly I am surprised this restaurant is still in business. Melt a bowl of cheese at home in the microwave and save yourself both lots of time and money.

Both the food and service were pretty good but it is very pricey. Going to The Melting Pot is more of an ‘experience’ and kind of something you check off your list once you finally get there. I can see myself going back there for the cheese or chocolate fondue but highly unlikely we will go back for another full meal. The first time is fun as it is something new but for that kind of money I’d rather sit back and have my meal brought to me cooked.

I’m pretty sure our server was hired directly from Friendly’s…she seemed inexperienced and did not explain the menu well, which didn’t get us off on the right foot. I told the hostess when I made the reservation that we had two people with birthdays(in our party of four) and the server was either uninformed or forgot… so much for celebrating! Next time maybe I’ll just go to Friendly’s…

went again last night with my love for the St Paddys Day special menu. Basically you get a deal by ordering this way. Still not cheap but did save AND took our chocolate fondue home– we were stuffed!

Went there for Valentine’s, and went in there knowing what to expect based on Unilocal reviews. Service was good, we got drinks fast, we got waters re-filled. Bathroom was beautiful, Ambiance was nice, place was clean. The 3 stars are for the food itself. I cannot say that what we had was delicious except for dessert, we had the milk chocolate which was absolutely DECADENT. Salads were good too, we had the house salad with ranch dressing. For Entrée we had the oil cooking style which offered batters and sauces that did not hit the spark. It was the fastest cooking style though, food was done in 2 minutes after dipping it in the hot oil. The cheese fondue we had tasted too much of liquor. Overall I think I would be coming back for Dessert and maybe try a different cheese fondue. Price-wise it is expensive, we spent about $ 160 for 2 people for the 4 course without alcoholic beverages, 18% tip and tax included. We did spend about 3 hours in there, the entrée takes long to finish. Make sure you have something to talk about when you go there. We did left with our bellies full, we could not finish the entrée, even though portions looked small, it was more than plenty of food and we had to have room for dessert.

Last month I tried Melting pot for the first time, it was different then other restaurants because you select what entrée you want from the menu, I selected beef, chicken fish, potato’s and vegetables. next you select what fondu you want, and the ingredient’s you want in your cooking broth when you cook your food. The waiter brought me my entrée, I just had to put the food in the broth and cooked it until it was finished and looked done. For dessert I had strawberries dipped in a chocolate sauce which tasted great. this was a very different experience, but I enjoyed it a lot.

My initial review of this restaurant was pretty negative. I was shooting from the hip w/my post-dinner review last Saturday night, so I have decided to slightly alter my original post, as I have composed myself a bit and would like to take the time to explain WHY.(It’s still not a «good» recommendation) First of all, I really did not want to write a bad review about this restaurant, as this dinner was to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday and it was her idea to come here. Unfortunately, there were 8 of us dining, and all were in agreement that we would not return. However, I will say that I would be willing to give it another try, but with a much smaller party(4 people, tops!) and would NOT choose the 4 course meal. With that being said, my disappointment mostly stems from my not expecting that the entire meal(aside from the salad) would need to be cooked in a fondue pot. I figured that the cheese and chocolate would surely be served this way, but with the high prices I expected a fully cooked, chef prepared entrée. Instead, we were presented a plate of raw meat. Shame on me for not investigating this beforehand(I really mean this… I wish I had!). I am sure that some people do not mind spending large amounts of money for this kind of dining, but it’s just not for me. Second, we arrived a bit early(10 mins), our table was ready, but two of our guests had not arrived. I requested that we be seated so that we can start with a cocktail, but the hostess refused. She proceeded to explain that the waitress would just need to explain the menu again for our two missing guests(this puzzled me, as I did not understand quite yet why the menu needed explanation). I did have a problem with her demeanor & attitude, as all we wanted to do was get out of the cold alcove at the front door and just sit to relax and enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. Apparently that was too much to ask. Service: The table-side preparation of the fondue was messy. The grated cheese was dumped into the pot, splashing the liquid that was added first, onto the table and burners(which were never cleaned between courses … yuck!). The waitress was burning her hand on the handle of the pot, so one of my guests offered his napkin to her, in which he had to request a replacement several times before receiving one. My daughter was to receive 6 complimentary chocolate dipped strawberries after the meal. I had handed the waitress the coupon during our first course, but after the bill was paid I had to ask for them. No big deal, but the waitress looked at me as if I had three heads and seemed irritated. She then proceeded to say that it might take a few minutes, as they needed to be made up. This could not possibly be true(when we finally did receive them, they were ice cold). Food: Fondue: We ordered the Alpine, Cheddar and Fiesta fondues. The Cheddar and the Fiesta cheese dishes were good(the Fiesta was the best). The items presented to dip were: 2 small cuplets(like Dixie cups) of sliced granny smith apples, 2 small cuplets of cut raw vegetables and two bowls of cubed assorted bread. I would have preferred less bread and more veggies. Salad: Very good. Entrée: All but one person(who is vegetarian), ordered meat/fish/chicken dishes. There were three pots of cooking«broths» in the center of the table. The table was rectangular, so unless we wanted to pass raw meat across the table or walk to the other side, we pretty much felt stuck boiling our meat in what was placed in front of us. It took forever to eat the entrée! I have a special needs son who I would not allow to cook his own meal, as I was afraid of uncooked meat and/or burning himself, so I cooked his first, then cooked mine. The discussion at the table was NOT personal and friendly … we were just too concerned as to whether or not the meat was cooked well enough. This really REALLY irritated me. So not a relaxing, enjoyable meal. Dessert was very good. The best of the 4 courses To conclude my updated review, I will again state that I MAY try this place again, but not with 8 people and certainly NOT for the entrée! I would suggest to those who are interested in trying this restaurant to skip the entrée, but recommend that they try the Fiesta fondue and either the chocolate/peanut butter or Turtle fondue.

I would give no stars if I could and none of this has to do with the food. We went for girls night for my aunts birthday. We got there around 620 and our waiter was slow. I mean he literally had to be asked for things triple times and just took long times to get all food. I mean half hours in between even putting the oil on and leaving. He never once mentioned that our oil cost more because he had said it was included. Well it was 930 and we hadn’t even got chocolate yet. I had to go see a manager because it was close to when my uncle needed pick up. She handled it well kind of but thins got hasty after that. Our waiter was rude and didn’t like that I told on him. He handled that manner by putting things on my check extra instead of asking whose to put it on. Then we left him a tip of 19 dollars which apparently he was unhappy with. I left my phone at the table when I went back and thankfully found it. He said«that’s karma for you» infront of other waiters. Then proceeded to follow me out of the restaurant not saying a thing but smirking at us in the hallway to the door. I was not happy wiht his attitude then he decided to take it a step further. Stand in the door blocking me from getting into the building again well making a weird tisking noise. I was in a unsafe place at that point. He kept taking steps every time I did and follow us to the outside door, I’m a little unsure why maybe he didn’t like his tip but his service sucked or maybe he was mad but he never expressed that feeling. Either way it was an unsafe place for me to be. No restaurant should ever feel unsafe and I was very close to calling the cops because he was blocking me from even entering the restaurant again to tell a manager. When I spoke to the owner I was so disappointed to get but he’s so great and people come here to jut have him. Either way he changed and we never truly know someone until we make them angry. But the food was great but the atmosphere left me feeling unsafe and that’s no place I would want to go again.

Unlike The Melting Pot in back bay, I had a decent experience at this place. I went for Girls Night Out on a Thursday night. Why 3 stars you ask? 1. They ask for your CC to make a reservation. I mean, really? It’s not like they’re 100% booked on Thursday nights. 2. They capitalize on the fact that women are strangely attracted to fondue. The prices are too high for pieces of veggies and approx 4 oz of meat(if that). 3. They won’t seat you unless the entire party is there. Which they don’t explain to you while making the reservation. The bar is very inconveniently located on the way to the tables in a very very narrow space. There are no stools and the 2 seats tables by the bar take way too much room. 4. I bought a berry martini and it tasted like syrup and ZERO alcohol. I should probably check my sugar level… I asked the bar tender for ice because my drink was too sweet, and plain bad. She gave me a glass full of ice and didn’t even apologize for such a s**ty drink she made… 5. 2 people in our party bailed, and that was our bad, but we still were paying customers. I asked to be seated twice, and had to be more«firm»(if you know what I mean…) 25 minutes after the first time we asked to be seated we had a table. 6. Our waiter seemed nervous, so I made small talk and ohh do I regret that… That boy interrupted every single conversation we had by chiming in unsolicited comments! 7. Overall, the food is okay and they give us the opportunity to have fondue. I still believe it’s way overpriced. At the end of the night, I paid close to $ 50(tip included…) and I don’t think it was worth it. 8. The hosts were rude and disrespectful. They look at you up-and-down as soon as you walk in, and they don’t even greet you! Their attitude was actually one of the worst parts of my night. I must say that if you want extra vegetables than what they offer, they will give you more. The girls night out menu is $ 34.99 with meat, or $ 24.99 w/salad. Both dinner menus come with the cheese and chocolate fondue, and a drink of $ 9.99 or less.

We came due to a livingsocial deal and enjoyed cooking our own food. The cheddar cheese fondue was delicious with the perfect spike and hint of lager beer. However that’s where the deliciousness ended. Sangria was way too sweet, I couldn’t drink it. The entrees are extremely unimpressive. I can make better food at home, even on my worst night. The sauces didn’t improve the meats, only made them worse. They should sub their signature sauces for mustard, ketchup and bbq sauce. If you’re going to come here, I wouldn’t plan dinner around it and just go for cheese and chocolate. Melting Pot does these very well and they may be worth the trip, while the entrees aren’t.
