Smitten Boutique

I really enjoy shopping at local establishments to support the local economy, find unique clothing, and receive personalized service. Smitten is an adorable little store with a diverse, trendy (but not funky), stylish selection of mostly casual clothing and interesting jewelry. I’ve bought several items of clothing there over the last year. Unfortunately, the one down side is the proprietor is not helpful, rarely engages, and seems put out to be working. One of the pluses about shopping at the local stores is the rapport with the owners and the suggestions they make — definitely lacking at Smitten.

I’ve been wanting to step into this small boutique for so long … opened recently in 2009 in the old carriage house at the Bedford Village Inn. Still owned by the inn-​keepers too.
The store is cute small store filled with great gifts for friends, hostesses, and for yourself! They carry a lot of items that would not be found at department stores. I found myself browsing through brands unheard of. They promote a lot of the independent labels and brands that are not as known, which I love! Something different and unique! They do carry a couple designers that are more common, but they handpick the items that still are more unique and rare.
I am due to go back … I have a lot of items on my wishlist!
