Huge commissary that will lead you to and from the PX. I can’t imagine this place being crowded given the size of this base. They have a wide selection of items from fresh to frozen food, so I’m sure you’ll find just what you need. Plus who doesn’t love a trip to the commissary?!

Large, clean, plenty of parking, best prices. All you need is an ID to get through the gate!

Since I work at Hanscom and I’m retired military, I get to shop here. Prices on canned goods, paper goods and meats are terrific. Produce is so-so. The deli is good — offering large subs(I’m talking 4 ft) that we can pick up for office functions.

Typical base commissary. Great prices and pretty good selection make this my shopping place of choice in Mass. Access is limited to military and military dependants.

I am in the Army and was lucky enough to be stationed close enough to Hanscom AFB, a facility offering a clinic, Base Exchange and more importantly a commissary. The commissary deli has been a spot I have been going to for lunch since 2005. They offer a wide variety of custom sandwiches, short order food items, sushi and bakery delights for short money, and you will have a hard time trying to find a better deal for lunch in Bedford. The staff is very kind and helpful, willing to make almost any kind of deli sandwich you can think of. The food is almost always delicious, the only complaint I have about taste is that some of the short order items taste as if they have been sitting around a LITTLE bit too long, I never really get that stuff any way but if that’s your bag I would find someplace else to go for Buffalo wings and chicken fingers. The sandwiches are very cheap and as I stated before are always delicious. When you get a sandwich made the staff always puts so much meat on it, the equivalent of a $ 7 sandwich anywhere else; I promise you. The bakery items are great and the selection is wide, only issue with them is that only a few of each item is made so when they are gone; they are GONE. All in all the experience is always good, a main issue I have though is the fact that even though they stay low, the price of the sandwiches always changes; every day. There have been days that I have walked out with the same sandwich costing between $ 1.99 and $ 4.30, there is no consistency whatsoever with the deli prices. It almost seems that the price changes based on who prepares the food, kind of a pain. Although access is limited to only those with a military ID the Hanscom AFB commissary deli is definitely the place to go for lunch on the base.
