Incredibly bland food. I have gone twice for lunch and both times my entrée was very bland and low quality. Appetizers we cold as well. Service was fairly friendly, but I don’t see a reason to go back again.

The servers were very kind which was nice, but since they changed it from the subway style grill where you pick your ingredients for the noodles, the food is disgusting. The décor is also pretty sad. I am certain that in my veggie noodles, they put an entire raw onion in. After I picked them out and ate the noodles, it was evident they were massively overcooked. The experience was disappointing to say the least.

It may be good authentic Chinese food but it’s not good American Chinese food. General Tso and sweet and sour were not what in were expecting, and not in a good way. The General Tso… way too hot. Overpriced, didn’t seem like quality chicken either and what is that«frozen» milk bottle dessert they throw in that was not frozen, despite what the bottle said,

It’s so hard to get a decent bowl of jjajangmyun in this city! I actually gave up my search for a while until I heard about this place. I really enjoyed Wok ‘n Guys’s black bean noodles and seafood fried rice. Tasted like what I would get if I ordered yetnahl(old style) jjajang at any neighborhood takeout joint in Seoul. This style is hard to find in the U.S.: it’s simple and flavorful with plenty of pork, cubed potatoes, onions, and cabbage in the sauce. Hit the spot for me! Service was prompt and professional. One star subtracted for the noodles. I prefer my noodles to be thinner and more springy.

not sure why anyone would want really good quality food to be done and delivered to you within 15 min but(sips tea) i really like this place. The staff is friendly, the ambience is simple. and the food is quality. i always get the jjambong when its cold out — it hits the spot especially if you like spicy soup and i always always get the fried potstickers with anything i get. stop by there if your ever in the area! super good food and a very friendly staff!

I ordered the jjajangmyeun with seafood and it was solid. The noodles were relatively fresh but the secret was in the sauce. I’ve had it one too many times when they would get it wrong with the sauce — too starchy, too runny, brown, too oily. But here, it reminded me of many times that I have eaten it in Korea, the way it should be properly prepared. Next time, I wanna try the jom pong. But I will be skipping the burnt spring rolls

I always choose this place to have some asian food. I love their spicy chicken house noodles. A huge portion with good price. The servers are also very friendly. Give this place a try.

really disappointed. I got House Chicken Noodles. $ 11! WTF for lunch? Worse part was the chicken was so over cooked it might as well been jerkey. Horrible.

I just spent 2 weeks in Korea and ate jjampong/jjajangmyun twice in Seoul. This place is totally comparable to good Korean Chinese places in Korea. We tried the cream jjampong, regular jjampong, and jjajangmyun, and they were all superb. Their noodles look hand pulled, and the vegetables in the jjampong broth were wok-seared which resulted in smoky, deep flavor. My husband and I are super excited that we have such a solid Korean Chinese place in the greater Portland area. Asian food in Portland is getting better and better.

Went in well before closing. Order shrimp and broccoli to go. The rice was dry and crispy in parts the soy sauce based was globbed onto my broccoli, probably previously frozen. The shrimp was so dry it was chewy. Never again. It was not worth money or drive. I am better off with the frozen food section… The staff is friendly but it doesn’t help their cause for worse food then what you get a the food court in the mall. My friend got the seafood soup and spent the night in the bathroom. So nothing is worth it there!

Had jjajang myun, jjambbong, and kkangpoongki. Kkangpoongki was too breast, explains why it was more oily than necessary. Jjambbong was good, but had too much hot oil. Jjajang cam out room temperature, was potatoes galore, and the portion was not comparable to the jjambbong– the did sizes are the same at any other restaurant with these dishes. These three dishes take 15 minutes to cook AND deliver in Korea and to cook at many places in the US, this place took an hour just to get our first dish and 15 minutes thereafter for the following two. I wouldn’t be surprised if another table got out order. They came a couple tables later than us but were served the same dishes first. Odd. I always either finish my food or take it home with me. I did neither today. A little further but I recommend Taipei Noodle Haus instead.

Yeah, this some authentic and delicious champong and jjajang myun. Large satisfying portions, and extremely flavorful. The champong was loaded with seafood and the broth was spicy and full of depth. The noodles seemed to be fresh, not dried and thus a little soft. I’ll be back to try some of their offerings very soon!

This place used to be awesome(pick your meat, veggies, noodles, rice, sauce all at a reasonable price) but they changed it to a more«authentic Korean» restaurant. It’s no longer what I want and the Korean food is just ok in my opinion. Better options around… I miss you old wok n’ guys.

They’ve done some remodeling and changed from a subway style pick-from-the-line to a sit down. The prices went up, but they have bigger menu selection and the place feels nicer with a modern Asian flair. The server was super nice and offered water while I waited for my to go dish, but it did take a while to get the food, they used to be quicker when it was a more casual joint. I feel like the food quality went down though, maybe because they’re offering more? It had a bit of a chemical flavor to it. One time I got a dish with teriyaki, noodles, and chicken and it was like soup, so I asked for less sauce the next time and it was practically bone dry. There was no in-between :(

If you like Korean Chinese food this is the place to go. One of the best in Oregon. Owners and servers are all friendly.

Not fresh. The seafood was horrible. The eggs in the stir fry was even fishy and I’m a big seafood eater. Service was good, but I would avoid this place

Whoa guys, this place is great. The name — Wok’ n Guys — might throw you off because it sounds so.Americanized. But when you check out the menu, they offer legit Korean and Korean/Chinese dishes. Black bean noodles, jjambbong, pork or chicken katsu, tangsooyook, etc. Sure, you’re not going to get metal chopsticks, a million side dishes, or anything like that. But you WILL get quality food and great service at an incredibly reasonable price. We had requests for low sodium, extra pickled radishes, etc., and they were incredibly accommodating. Seems like great people run this place and I’m already ready to come back next time I’m in the area.

Oh my god! I came here expecting the fast food noodle joint of reviews past. No more! This is a legit Korean restaurant now, and the noodle dish I had — jjajang myun $ 9.49 — was fantastic!!! The noodles are quality with the right chewy texture, and the rich savory sauce was so delicious I wanted to lick my bowl clean! It’s mostly noodles and gravy with potatoes, onions, and a few pieces of meat in it. You get a little side dish of kimchi and pickles with your meal. I love the little touches. I also was given a little Korean yogurt drink dessert, but I’m not sure if that’s just because it just re-opened with the new menu.

I won’t be going here again. Not because the service wasn’t excellent, which it was. I did have trouble hearing the man’s «timid» voice over the blaring fan hoods in the back though. No, I won’t be going back because the food simply wasn’t good. It wasn’t inedible, but it was ill-prepared and not super fresh. The shrimp were precooked and kept in a warming pan before being added to the dish I ordered. After their final reheat, they were tough and not at all nice to eat. The noodles were precooked in another warming pan, and added to reheat them in the wok with sauce. The sauce(sweet & spicy) wasn’t very well balanced and hit a bit flat. Maybe it needs some acid. The whole combination of veggies, shrimp, and noodles ended up being a slippery, gloppy mess. I ordered teriyaki kid’s plates for my girls and the sauce ended up tasting burnt and the chicken(reheated from another warming pan) was overdone as well. This was simply another variation of a Mongolian grill, but wok-based with fewer choices, and fewer and lesser quality ingredients to choose from.

The Triangle of Quality states that you can have it Cheap, Fast, or Good. Pick two. Wok’ n Guys seems to buck the trend by only picking one of those options. That is, the cheap option. On the plus side, it is a pretty huge portion that I don’t always finish. My first visit was opening week. Being less then happy with the meal, and thinking«they’re new, they’re just working the bugs out,» I went away satisfied and promptly forgot about it for several months. I’ve since then visited several more times and have had almost the same experience every single time. The girl at the counter takes my order with no problems. The guy at the wok starts cooking the meats and then realizes that he’s out of noodles when he’s almost done. So he turns the heat down on the meat portion, leaving it to simmer for the roughly eight minutes it takes to cook the noodles. He then spends another two to five minutes washing out the pan he just used while. After that he throws everything together and it sits on the counter waiting for final packaging by the girl working the counter. Usually for another five minutes. By the time I get the food the meat is very over cooked rubbery and seems to have almost no flavor left. Only the application of soy sauce and teriyaki sauce seems to save it. In short, it’s a step above fast food. It’s slightly healthier then fast food. It’s in the same price range as fast food. It’s got larger default portions then fast food. It takes longer to cook then fast food. But otherwise it’s firmly in the category of being fast food. Go here if you’re poor and hungry and just need anything to fill your stomach. Don’t expect anything more then that.
