Very disappointed, would’ve been no problem if they were marketing what they are serving which is more like a snow cone, not shave ice. There is a huge difference to me and I don’t really like snow cones. Not soft and fluffy like shave ice is supposed to be, sad.

I tried a rootbeer/vanilla combo of this ice(was chunky, as the other reviewer mentioned, not shaved) while at Sellwood Park. Since so many people were buying them, I thought they must be good. Had I looked around, I would have realized it was the only vendor available at that time, and it was hot. I was really disappointed, and could only eat the small pieces of ice on the top, because the entire center of the ice was frozen solid and I couldnt break it apart without the generic sugary syrup spilling all over me. I wouldn’t get this again.

After a long Sunday Parkways, we made it to the top of the Tabe and treated ourselves to some icy treats from the«Two Wahines Hawaiian Shave Ice» vendor cart. Problem is, this isn’t anything close to real shave ice. The real article is flaky like snow and melts in your mouth. This was crumbly like hail and required lots of chewing to break up the chunks. So, in conclusion: it was lousy shave ice, but a damn decent snow cone.
