I love this place for their banh cuon on the weekends. I also like their smaller stuff like the pâté chaud and cha lua. Bun bo hue is generic and mediocre you can tell with how dark the broth is. The bo luc lac is not that great and is a soy sauce base. The bo luc lac is a bit pricey with a small amount of beef. Not a huge fan of their chicken fish sauce wings which were about $ 11 for like 8 small tiny wings. Probably still to pok pok if you want fish sauce wings… Despite being disappointed with most of their menu, I will still come back because their banh cuon is amazing and their bun rieu is not bad.

Worst service ever. The waitress had a horrible attitude so, we took our business elsewhere. Don’t eat here. I’ve never been anywhere with such horrible service!!! Stay away from this restaurant. They don’t deserve any tip.

I initially gave it two stars. I have never in my life decided to go back to a place and actually gotten a worse experience. My mom wanted to go(she later asked why we didn’t we think of going to the other phở place down the street) and I though why not, the broth can’t be worse than the last time. It was worse. Quantity is small with barely any greens or meat. It just looks pathetic. One thing that did increase is the price. My mom asked for more cilantro and onions. When I went to pay there was a dessert charge when we didn’t have any. My mom said it was for the extra cilantro and onion(like $ 1.25). NEVERAGAIN! Fool me twice … shame on me for thinking it couldn’t be worse!

It’s not easy finding a good phở place when eating out in the burbs(westside of town). One place, however, has been around for awhile now and that is Tan Tan. This locally family owned business serves good Vietnamese dishes that are reasonable priced. I normally get the phở here and sometimes a banh mi on the side. I ordered the Phở Dac Biet(without tripe and tendon) and an original banh mi. Both were pretty good ad satisfied my phở cravings for the day.

Service + Food was really outstanding! This is probably the best Bun ho Hue I’ve found in Oregon! The soup is flavored so nicely and my hubs loved his seafood soup! My husband’s mini me was enjoying his noodles and just overall a very great place to dine. Will be back for more!!!

After a long hunt based on a foggy memory of a tasty dinner months ago with a friend, this afternoon I finally found the obscurely located Tan Tan. If you arrive around mealtime, plan on street parking. I was tempted by many items on the menu but after reading the long list of banh mi options and realizing that I was unfamiliar with most of the ingredients I settled on a «do it yourself» banh mi because it seemed to include most of them. It felt very French but with an Asian twist: the warm, crunchy froth of Vietnamese baguette accompanied by a broad plate of «charcuterie» that included Vietnamese versions of ham, sausage, pâté’, something brawn-like, something bologna-like, julienne vegetables dressed in sweetened vinegar, mayonnaise and, most oddly to me, two fried eggs over easy. I have to admit, I ate the whole thing! At least culinarily, the French and Vietnamese«marriage» is a very happy one. By the way, as before, I found the restaurant staff relaxed, friendly and helpful. I plan to return with friends.

Nice place. food is ok. broth did not have any taste. Ordered Phở and Bun. quality of food was good, but just NO taste. Really nice people there. I’ll try it again to see if it was just an off day for them or my taste buds. I always try to hang with tasty Buds though. ;)

I’m thinking that maybe I ordered the wrong things here– but was very underwhelmed with the Phở and Spicy Beef Noodle soup. Somehow both lacked flavor no matter how much extra hot sauce I dumped into the soup. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious, but I probably won’t come back to this establishment.

Went there to eat with some of my friends from work because they made such a big deal about the place and how it was the best broth and flavors ever. We ordered the #40, some spring rolls, steam buns and it was absolutely delicious. They weren’t kidding. We plan to go back just because it really is just good eats. I highly recommend this place and keep an open mind and try something new every time you go. I know I will and can’t wait.

One of my Vietnamese friends suggested to eat at his childhood, go-to spot for phở and banh-mi. I think that this is, hands down, the best the Vietnamese restaurant in the Beaverton area. The prices are cheaper than surrounding Vietnamese places and the quality to quantity rating is better than most places in Portland. This spot is consistent, service is friendly, and a damn good deal for someone craving some fantastic Vietnamese food. Make sure to try the Vietnamese Crêpe! EDIT6÷9÷16: I tried the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and I agree with other Unilocalers that the broth is not spicy. The noodles are round rice noodles so make sure to ask for a fork for this. It was ok but I’ll stick with the other things on the menu next time.

I chose the Spicy Beef Noodle Soul for my dinner. It had an excellent taste which I couldn’t find at any Vietnamese store. I really appreciated their food and I highly recommend this restaurant to others.

Really fresh, great food. The people working here are super nice. I love coming here and pigging out with my Vietnamese friend. Prices are good. Thai tea and taro boba is bomb, and the lemongrass chicken is so savory and tender! My favorite restaurant in Beaverton area. :)

Prices are good, portions are good, food is delicious. The only thing that it lacks is ambiance and one of the ladies was a bit rude. Nothing you can’t get over though, I still recommend this place. Especially their Banh Mi, really good for the price.

Tan Tan Café doesn’t feel like it used to. It must have expanded since my last visit many years ago. Also, it seemed busier than ever on a cold, wet, Saturday. The servers are friendly and attentive. The soup is a little more greasy than I am used to, but piping hot and delicious. It was easy to see why the tables were all filled with hungry diners.

We just had two bubble teas and banh mi sandwiches but they were amazing(and inexpensive). So good, we def want to come back and try everything. I had the shredded chicken sandwich and my husband had the pork(number 2?) and they both were so yummy and filling. The Thai iced tea with bubbles is really good. Husband had the jackfruit with lychee bubbles he liked. Overall was like less than $ 15, crazy.

Just to make sure you get the whole picture I came back to Tan Tan again yesterday to make sure the first time was not a fluke in taste. Well they lived up to it and then some. The best part was I was only here once and as I walk in Daisy one of the mamasans says«hey you back Big Mike Right?» said yes asked her name again and she smiles and says«I Know you be back you make moan noises when you eat our soup LOL» I definitely love love love this place fantastic service and excellent PHO

My favorite place to get Bun Rieu, hands down — Even our waitress said it was her favorite. We went around 10am and there was another family. The broth was delicious and the meat was flavorful. They have giant portions for their pricing(I think mine was $ 7.95). We ordered their Phở Dac Biet, Bun Bo Hue, and Bun Rieu. Each of them were giant and service was friendly. Bun bo hue and Bun rieu come with a spicy shrimp paste — they only give it to you if you ask.

what Tan Tan lacks in interior ambiance it makes up for in the food. it’s relatively cheap and fairly good quality. the menu is large, an extensive menu of sandwiches, soups, bowls, and many drink choices. the interior is much like a cafeteria, the food is way better. service is usually friendly.
