Peppertree Motel

I have stayed here twice in the last year. The first time was with family and the second time I was alone for business. The first time the motel was not upgraded and remodeled as it is today but it has not come up to the standards of most modern motels. My wife told me never to return. The furniture was damaged the towels were threadbare. It was obvious that most surfaces had been wiped and dusted but they all were sticky.
This time I stayed alone for business. It was convenient and my company is budget minded. I asked for a room that was quiet. A room away from family and children in the pool. I was located on the first floor next to the laundry room. At 3:30 a large bang woke me up and yelling and screaming from the next room kept me awake. A call to the desk was unanswered. Later I found out that another altercation between guests was occurring at another part of the motel and that the police were dealing with a third situation. At 5:45 I went to the office and found it locked. The manager locked himself in. It is true that the motel was apparently robbed at some time in the recent past. We the guests could not get to the desk to check out or to the breakfast room to eat until after the manager unlocked the office. At breakfast it became apparent that the hotel provides housing for victims of domestic violence and other social issues funded by the state. The alarm clock in my room was smashed, the corner of the desk was broken off and I couldn’t control the temperature in the shower. I will not stay there again. Those with glowing reviews obviously we’re not woke up by slamming and banging, police in the parking lot and inability to check out because the manager has locked himself in the office.
The pool is beautiful the Landscaping is attractive the breakfast was okay but I went there to get rest and I did not feel safe.

Complete crap! People ODing here all the time! I was here 2 weeks and the PD was there most nights.

Peppertree Inn is under NEW MANAGEMENT so I wouldn’t pay attention to previous comments. I stayed 5 nights this week and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had at a motel/​inn. Don’t let the outside fool you! They have renovated the inside. It has everything you need from a dinning table, desk, fridge, microwave, iron, ironing board and even a tooth brush! I love when hotel’s provide free breakfast in the morning. It wasn’t extravagant but it got me by every morning. The place is dog friendly. There is no surrounding buildings so it’s a huge field (be cautious of the highway). We also noticed that there is a bunch of solar panels on the roof. Kind of a nice touch.
Bottom line, if you are looking for an inexpensive hotel to stay at, this is the place. Other motels/​inn that are near have had bedbugs problems. This place has NOT had any history of bedbugs.

I’ve stayed here two times in the last 6 months.
I returned because the great staff at the front desk (both visits). They recommended places to dine.
Rooms are clean. Great dining room with lots of seating. It’s set up for conversing with others.
Great location to zoo, mall, gardens and downtown Portland.

RUN, RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE…
Husband was booked for 2 nights. Ended up not staying at all due to an emergency. He canceled 2^nd night and was told they’d remove pet fee for 1^st night as she never even entered the room. The 2^nd night was never to be charged. He was given receipt showing what full charge would be and additional receipt showing credit. Our bank account shows full charge. He’s now tried for over a week to get this fixed. Told the manger is only person who can take care of this. Now she won’t be in til next Thursday which will be nearly 2 weeks since this mess started
When he tried AGAIN today, desk clerk can barely communicate. Broken English so bad near impossible to understand.
I also called today and desk clerk giggled like a child.
NOT SURE WHY MY HUSBAND BOOKED AT THIS HOTEL BUT A HUGE MISTAKE. NEVER HAD SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH A HOTEL. THIS IS A COMPLETE JOKE!!!

This review is based on service and price. The very poor and uncaring customer service. The room came equipped with a broken refrigerator and was way way too expensive for the small room in a nowhere location. I lost $ 60 in salmon I’ve been schlepping from fridge to fridge for three days until my flight home because of the fridge, and when I brought it up to the front desk, there was apparently nothing they could do to help. They made no attempt to help and and refused to offer any sort of discount. The room is clean and there is some beautiful landscaping. That’s about all the good I have to say about this motel. Priced the same as a Fairfield’s and the like, but preforms like the one star it is.

They say they’re pet friendly but they’re not very pet friendly. The only petrooms are on the side of the freeway and only have queen beds. The furnishings are from the 1940s.

Not very good but you get what you paid for. Could be cleaner, there is currently cobwebs on our ceilings. Beds aren’t great. Pet friendly. TV is awful. Has a microwave and mini fridge. You can clearly hear the freeway & we requested a «quiet room» pool is ok. NOT A HOTEL AS SOME PEOPLE THINK. I believe they paid for reviews on other websites. Most of the reviews on «Google Reviews» (the reviews that first pop up when you google the motel) a lot of the 5 & 4 star reviews were by no photo accounts with storage names and all 3 years ago. I’d go somewhere else but if you’re just staying to sleep it’s okay.

For what you pay here, the accommodations are quite decent. The hotel staff are extremely nice and helpful. One came up and brought us an extra chair within a couple of minutes of requesting one! Sure, the chair was plastic. Sure, the breakfast was not good, pretty mediocre actually but hey, if you want to pay $ 50+ dollars for somewhere else just for some scrambled eggs and greasy sausages, go for it. We had a good night’s sleep in a relatively quiet location (you’re always going to find loud rude people wherever you go) and a nice clean albeit low-​quality room.

One of my friends was getting married in Beaverton, and my girlfriend and I needed a place to stay nearby as we are from out of state. Keeping our budget in mind, I took a little bit of a gamble on Peppertree. I would say it paid off; the staff was friendly, the room clean, the pool quite nice, and parking was a breeze. Location was convenient, as well.
The hotel was recently renovated, as per what they had listed online, and white it’s obvious the building is older, the renovations really did breathe new life into the old place. The only major downside would be the noise levels; we were located poolside and could hear every jubilant cry from every child swimming. Nighttime was still fairly quiet, no rowdy neighbors.
TL;DR A nice choice for those with budgets in mind, just avoid poolside rooms if you want a daytime nap.

We checked in, got to our room and discovered there were flies. Not just a few flies. Attached least 30 flies. They were quick about giving us another room. There were almost as many flies in that room. So gross. Left immediately to find a different place even though it was late at night. Ended up at the Embassy Suites.

My buddies and I paid just $ 84 per night to stay here! I got a great night’s sleep all 4 nights!
The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff swept up our room each day nicely. The beds were a little rough, but that was okay since I was tired from all the hiking and sight seeing around Oregon. Continental breakfast was included. Each morning, I would have a waffle, a hard boiled egg and a peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich. Then I would grab a banana and a danish for the road.
The only downside was that the temperamental shower. It went from tepid to scalding in a flash. It takes patience and a steady hand to adjust the water to the proper temp.
I left here feeling happy and my bank account was happy.

I’ve stayed in some real flea bags, but this place was nice! I was super worried about it after reading all of the bad reviews, but was pleasantly surprised! It’s not the Hilton (obviously), the guy at the front desk didn’t have a ton of personality but he made an effort, the bed was comfortable, place was clean, shower was warm. It was the cheapest thing around, next to the Motel 6 (which had a picture of a bedbug in a review). Maybe my standards are too low, I roadtrip a lot and am always grateful for a vacancy and clean sheets at the end of a night. Take a chance, especially if you’re on a budget or are driving tired.

This was one of the worst motels in which I have ever stayed. My wife and I stayed here after a long day of walking around Portland, so we were too tired to notice the noisy freeway nearby. What did bother us was how dirty the room was. Our first night there we found pizza boxes and other pieces of trash from the previous guests. The second day, while we were not there, someone put in a new dresser. When we got back, the packaging peanuts from the box were left all over our room. Housekeeping did not clean anything up. The small fridge was unplugged and what used to be ice was dripping onto the floor.
I would not recommend Peppertree Motel to anyone. For the price, you can find a much better place in town.

This is a very good value. NIce room with all the amenities and even waffles for breakfast. NIce layout and although next to busy highway, not really noisy. Also very convenient since one short exit away from a mall and from Beaverton’s shopping area that have lots of choices. Again, very goo dvalue.

Please read all the bad reviews, they are accurate.
The first night we arrived from our flight at midnight we were given a room facing the highway… Needless to say, there was no sleep that night due listening to trucks and cars outside the room.
In addition, I reserved a queen bed… they put a double bed in the room with a queen headboard. I argued with the manager that it was a double and she insisted it was a queen. Buyer beware… I know the difference between a double and queen She looked at me as if I was an idiot.
Day 2, I was willing to give it another try if they moved me to the other side of the hotel away from the noise.
OK, better, the room looked like there was some renovations done, fairly clean etc. Then at 8:00 I woke up to painters spraying out side of our building and had to listen to the spray guns go off all morning. On top of it all, on a windy day they are air spraying the side of the building around everyone’s parked cars.
And, the faucet in the bathroom was stripped, the maintenance guy fixed it with a screw driver, but you can only get a little hot water, so the showers were lukewarm at best.
Clearly there is a market in this area for an economy hotel or it wouldn’t be filled, but this is ridiculous. I wish I had the money to buy this place tear it down and build a nice little motel that is clean and convenient. for the area.
Otherwise, stay away, unless you like staying in truck stops.

2.5 stars I did sleep
Please don’t, unless it absolutely fits a budget, you are a «heavy sleeper,» look forward to a place to stay that has thin walls, squeaky floors, close to the freeway, and just plain bad construction. It’s not all bad though The Peppertree had a good coat of paint, decent interior designer to spruce up the place; convincing me to at least stay the night, a pool, and a decent internet connection so that I can book at a better place.
At first sight, I was apprehensive, because normally my wife and I will spend a little more to get a good night rest. I did, that is with the aid of a noise machine that drowns out most of the sound when I sleep. Surprisingly, I did get a full six hours, that was amazing to me, but that was because the neighbors went to sleep at 12:30 am after listening to them bang one out, followed by the upstairs neighbors dropping what seemed like hammers at 6:30 am. on a Saturday during the Memorial day weekend.

Wow this place sucks, at 8:30 this morning construction crews came and started banging on the roof. I don’t know what kind of management these people have but it is not a good one.
Can you imagine going to a hotel trying to sleep in and all you hear is hammers banging on your head.
it is a cheap hotel and hope i don’t get itchy later today.

I unfortunately didn’t listen to the bad reviews I read before booking my room so this is probably my fault. Although I wasn’t expecting a 5 star hotel, I was very frustrated with my stay here. Not only did it take the toilet tank about 2 hours to fill after it was used, but the shower was not great. When I turned on the faucet in the bath it was nice and hot. When I switched it to the shower it would take about 5 minutes just for the water coming out of the shower head to get tepid. So I gave up and took a cold shower. When I told the staff about the issue with the shower on checkout, the response I got was «Yes, we are aware of that and have a plumber coming.» ??? why in the world would anyone rent a room with this issue. The one thing I want after traveling all day is a hot shower and I’m sure I’m not alone in that. Ugh. Won’t be staying there again.

After 10 hours of driving on a recent tour we arrived at the motel tired and ready to check in. Unfortunately, not Long after we checked into our rooms there was a robbery attempt or some kind of assault in the lobby directly next door to our room. The door was kicked out of where they serve breakfast in the morning less then 10 feet from where I slept. The rest of the evening was filled with the sounds of police sirens and walkie-​talkies as they investigated. While the staff did agree to comp our rooms the manager was very rude and spoke to us as if we were trying to take advantage of the situation. She actually said the words, «this is not our fault» and «go to your room». While the crime that took place may not have been «their fault» it did take place at their establishment and we are/​were paying customers. As an added bonus the waffle machine was not working, there was no butter for the toast and when I made toast it set off the fire alarm.
I don’t recommend staying at this hotel. While I highly doubt another strong arm robbery will take place in Beaverton anytime soon if any problems do take place the management will not be accommodating and will most likely make you feel as if you are a child who did something wrong.

I’ve read a lot of bad things about this hotel but not all are true. The outside looks super ragged but the inside was really nice.
The inside of the room was nice and clean. The shower was clean which is a must. Surprisingly they even had a nice wall mounted HDTV.
I arrived a day later than I had scheduled and they changed the date for me easily and with no fuss.
Great hotel for the price, though I’m sure the price will go up after they renovate.

We live in Beaverton and due to a broken pipe at our house we would be without water overnight. So my family and I decided we would stay the night at this place. It was horrible! The carpet was so filthy that my daughters and I had to throw out the socks we wore in the room! I believe we could’ve walked outside in our socks and still not have had them as dirty as they got walking on the carpet in the room. There was poop on the bathroom wall. The blankets on my bed smelled like body odor. I called the front desk they brought what I thought would be clean sets of sheets and blankets. One had a stain that I was scared to wonder what it was. I discussed these issues with the front desk, he didn’t look surprised at all. I wished I checked Unilocal before going there. NEVER again should we need to spend the night elsewhere, we will just camp out. It’s cleaner and less expensive.

After finally finding a motel with vacancies, we stopped. The clerk flat out told us that since everyone else was booked, they raised their prices… by $ 40!!! The room smelled, the bed was uncomfortable. The shower was the best part if the visit.

The free internet is crazy fast, that was nice. But the beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are small, the staff is incompetent and constantly made errors with our booking (the lady who works mornings is the only one that knows what she is doing), and the shower fluctuates temperatures so often it will damn near scald you. There are better hotels nearby for the same price without all of these issues.
