I haven’t had Mexican food this bad in along time! Fajitas came out Luke warm and abit soggy… like reheated leftovers. Guacamole had zero flavor, chips were stale, beans had no flavor. I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their hot sauce and theirs was lacking! All in all I’m disgusted and still hungry seriously overpriced for quality!

Back in the day I would give this place 5 stars but lately there Carne Asada is too salty and the ceviche is not right either. For the price I would rather go to a steak house and get a good steak and as far as the ceviche I would so rather go to that Don Pedro place, there I would save money and get good ceviche.

No complaints here. I’m usually picky about Mexican food since I’m from Southern California. Took me a while to find an authentic Mexican food place that has great tasting food. I’ve had their enchiladas and chimichanga combination and also the carne asada, both plates are delicious and full of flavor. Friendly staff.

A co worker of my wife told us to try this place. As we entered I was pleasantly suprised to see how bright and clean this place was. Had a different pic in my head from the outside. We were seated right away and the waitress was very friendly. We had the shrimp and steak fajitas for 2 and I will say thet were very, very good. Plenty of food. We left stuffed with enough to take home. We also had dessert and ythe waitress recommended the one that starts with an «X». It was awesome. My wife had a medium sized margarita which was very big. Not too strong. I highly recommend this place.

Save yourself the trouble of coming here. Very poor customer service! The would not accommodate our 3 month old baby(in his car seat.) Although they had 0 customers on a Sunday afternoon. Their bad service seems to be a thing at all Mazatlan locations. Pretty disappointing.

This is the only Mexican restaurant nearby that we’ve found to offer queso dip(the white queso fundido dip popular at most east coast Mexican restaurants). However, the last three times we’ve visited, they’ve been seriously under-staffed. Tonight we waited 4 min and 42 seconds after getting our queso dip to receive the chips that were supposed to come with it. As a server myself, I hate to mention something like that if it’s a one-time instance. However, on both our last two trips, my boyfriend refilled his own water after it had sat empty for over ten minutes. We would probably stop eating here if we could get our queso dip fix somewhere else. The food is very good, but there aren’t enough servers on the floor when they’re busy. The servers who are there run their tails off, but without putting another server or a couple food runners on the floor, there’s no way they can keep up.

3.5 out of 5 Atmosphere: It’s your typical Mexican style décor with styled tile and paint. It has a large open seating area with a small bar in the back. Staff: The staff seem to be all Latino but all speak English, from my experience. We have been to this location about 6 times now and most staff is nice but not overly friendly. Pre-Meal: They offer free Chips, Salsa and Bean dip when you are seated. Like others have said, the beans don’t have a ton of flavor but they are not bad and work well if you mix with the Salsa. The chips could be a bit thinner and salted would be nice. Food Price: Combo meals are $ 10 – 13 Average casual dining. Some appetizers under $ 10. Food Quality/Taste: We have had the cheese enchiladas, chicken enchiladas, beef enchiladas, chimichanga, crispy taco(ground beef) and tostada. Each combo plate comes with mexican rice and refried beans. The beans seem to be the same ones they serve for free and are not bad. Same goes for the rice, not bad, i usually mix them together. The pulled chicken used in the chimichanga and enchilada has good flavor but tends to be slightly on the dry side. The ground beef on the other hand is a bit on the greasy/oily side but has good seasoning to it. The green and red enchilada sauces are good. I have not tried the white sauce. The only complaint i have about the chimichanga is that it doesn’t seem to get all that crispy. It seems like its more on the baked side than deep fried. I personally like mine super crispy. Make sure you ask for the SC and Guac on the side unless you want your chimi to get soggy quick. The quality of lettuce and tomato toppings are good. I have not had any problems with soggy soft over ripe tomatoes. Portions: I’m not a big eater but i’ve never cleaned the plate. I’m not saying the portions are huge but if you get a 3 combo plate you should be satisfied. With 3 items plus the beans and rice there should be plenty for most people. Overall: This one for us has been our go to spot since On the Border closed. We keep going back but we would welcome a 5 star option anywhere in Washington county. Unfortunately there do not seem to be any TOPSHELF(must go to) Mexican restaurants in our area. We have tried several that others claim to be the best but we haven’t agreed.

Very large restaurant that serves good Mexican food. They start you out with chips and salsa(which is very nice) and they have a very good drink menu as well. They are known to have very delicious margaritas. I had the shrimp fajita and it was good. Kind of expensive for the amount of food that I got overall. The quality of the shrimp was fair. But I think the price is normal for most Mexican chain restaurants. Friendly and fast service. I would come again, but probably order something else.

Cute décor and friendly wait staff cannot make up for the lack-luster food. Everything from the unsalted tortilla chips to the bland sauces make this place just barely mediocre. I say keep on looking nearby if you want some mexican food with flavor.

So the food was good, but the service was exceptional. The waitress took a bit to come to my table, but when she did she acted like I was the only person in the place, that felt pretty good. The food was well prepared. I’m coming back«fo sho»

We were seated and then waited 20 minutes until someone came and took our order. Ordered a drink that was supposed to have Bacardi and 151 but 100% sure that they just used bottom shelf rum, even had to ask for a glass of Orange juice to mix with my drink because all I tasted was bad rum. Never coming back here again

I like there food and it is always up to par. I gave them a 4 sate because the service could use a little work and always check on there customers when dinning in. Other than that I will always go back because it’s one of my favorites.

The only couple times I’ve been here, the food and salsa have been very bland… Also, I don’t think they even put any alcohol in my margarita. Eh.

We come here every time we want Mexican food, they are the only one that serves hot chips with beans and salsa before your meal. The staff is friendly and portions are large.

Service tonight was ok. More friendly than normal, but also more disorganized and our order came out incorrectly. They were nice about fixing it, but it still extended the time it took for us to have our dinner. Tacos were good. Nothing fancy, but good. Black beans were flavorful, salsa was tasty, chips were somewhat stale. It’s inexpensive though, and close by, and while there’s not much to extol, there’s not much to complain about either.

This is the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. I had been to another Mazatlan on Burnside and it was pretty good. This location is not. I even gave it three chances and each time I was disappointed. The service was terrible, they actually acted like they didn’t want you there. Every single item I ordered was disgustingly soggy with oil and grease, especially the tortillas. The only reason I went more than once is that I wanted to believe my bad experience was isolated. Nope. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Skip this place.

This is a updated review. I hadn’t been here for almost a year and i now remember why. They got a little spendy for the little food they give and crappy salsa and chips. I think they changed their chips. It seems store bought or something. It was sort of hard and without taste. Their beans are still watery. I got their steak and shrimp. None of the food looked good to me. Usually at mexican restaurants i get the cardne asada. But for 50 cents more i could get a BIG steak. So thats what I did. If you get a pop beverage. They only give you one free refill now. For my bf and I, entrees and drinks it came out to $ 33 and we both didn’t enjoy it. The only thing good about this place is their waiters are Awesome. Always personable and attentive. But for what they offer I won’t be back!
