My wife and I wanted to spruce up our back and side yards, so I went online and lined up several contractors to come meet with us to discuss design, service and budget. From the beginning, I was the most impressed with LLS. The estimator told me, straight up, «We won’t be the cheapest but we won’t be the most expensive, either. And we will do the work to your satisfaction.» He recommended a designer, Susie Sondren, whom we contacted and hired to do the design. She was great and such a wonderful resource. With the design in hand, we then got an estimate from LLS – at that point I wasn’t interested in using anyone else – and went forward on the project.
They scheduled the work for two weeks out. They showed up on time and did everything they were supposed to do except grout the patio, due to the weather. Six weeks later, as soon as the weather finally cleared (gotta love Portland), they came out and finished the job. Although this was not the biggest project in the world, it involved installing two rock pathways, stairs and a patio, tree planting, soil preparation and the installation of a fountain, including electrical work. Everything was done well and, as promised by the estimator, to our complete satisfaction.
On a side note, this project had the potential to be derailed when the original estimator left the company just as we were making the final adjustments to the project. Instead, I received an email from the owner, Jim Lewis, written about 9:30 pm on a weeknight, asking if we had all the information we needed and to let him know if we needed anything else. I replied we had just made some final adjustments and were waiting on the final estimate. The next morning, I got a phone call from his office, setting up an appointment. Both Jim and Scott, the new estimator, came over. We went over the project, Scott worked up the bid and the project stayed on track. Scott managed the project from that point forward and always responded to our emails and phone messages. Great guy and super easy to work with.
So we were very impressed with Lewis Landscape Service and are happy to recommend them to anyone who needs a landscaper.

I’ve owned my own service business for 12 years & so, as a service client of Lewis Landscape, I was extremely shocked that Jim Lewis charged me hundreds of dollars to send someone to come fix a sprinkler that they had already charged me hundreds of dollars to fix. Bottom line is, they were unable to fix it twice. They stood behind the expensive charges of unsuccessfully messing with my sprinkler apparently, because without telling me they were doing so, they sent it to collections. They don’t have any regard for the service industry or their clients. When my company is paid to repair things, we do it, or we don’t charge. How are they in business? Stay away!

I had the pleasure working with the owner, Jim Lewis. He is the real deal. He has the passion for quality, customer satisfaction, and presentation. It took a couple of weeks to lock in a design. Then, he was able to setup the job 2 weeks later. Then, it took 8 days to complete the job. He would be checking on the guys every day, ensuring his crew knew what needed to be worked on that day and made sure we were staying on plan and on-​time.
He is professional, brings 20 years of experience, and works with you to make you happy. He didn’t rush me. I was even able to get the hardscape ordered, then get the plants in later.
My backyard is the talk of the neighborhood. I have lighting, large patio, fire pit, water bubbler, irrigation system, and stone seating. He made the best use of my budget and patiently answered all my questions. I’m 100% happy and impressed with the quality and attention to detail his crew had. They spent quite a bit of time cleaning up the front and back to make it look like they were never there. That is always appreciated.
Would have no doubt in recommending him for any of my neighbors, friends, or family.

Lewis Landscaping sent Ben out to trouble-​shoot and repair the sprinkler– and drip-​line systems that our young dog had so thoroughly destroyed, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of work and the service the company provided. Ben was very knowledgeable about irrigation systems, the various types of plantings in our yard, and the kinds of watering needs our landscaping would require throughout the summer. He was able to salvage much more of the system than we’d imagined would be possible, and he managed to reconfigure a twelve-​zone system down to nine much more clearly-​purposed and easy-​to-​monitor zones. We appreciate the prompt and professional service provided by Ben and Lewis Landscape Services and will definitely rely on them again.

I started using the weekly maintenance service years ago and was so pleased with Lewis Landscape that I had them redo the entire front yard with stacked rock retaining wall, new lawn and Rainbird sprinkler system with misters for the shrubs and flower beds and flagstone patio and walkway. The crew does an outstanding job and go beyond expectations to make my yard the best it can be. The price is reasonable and the service is dependable. I would say LLS is not the least expensive you can find but it is the best you will find.

Lewis Landscaping installed my neighbor’s fence and we share one side of the fence, which I paid for. The fence is horrible. The men who installed the fence took out a post that supported a wood retaining wall on my property and did not replace it with another support post. Instead they installed a post on the third neighbor’s property across the property line (I am the first house in a cul-​de-​sac). Then they «gerry rigged» some scrap boards to cover their error. My son discovered what they’d done. When I became angry and called it to the crew supervisor’s attention, he made excuses for it and tried to intimidate me. He finally installed another post on my property so we could have something to attach our new fence to but it did not support the retaining wall. In order to do it correctly they would have to take out and replace a long portion of the neighbor’s fence and dig out the concrete holding the illegal post. They chose not to do that. The effect on my third neighbors side is a zig-​zag effect as the two fences work around the illegally placed fence post. At no time did they communicate with me or my neighbors about these abnormalities.
In addition, the nails that were used on the fence have now «bled» foot long black streaks on the expensive cedar used as fencing materials. They offered no remedy for this. Again, the supervisor had a lot of excuses and used his macho attitude to try to make me accept the mess. He blamed the streaks on oil in the nail gun and walked away. So, we live with it. It’s ugly.
I just want to make it known that they don’t have a clue what they are doing as fence installers. My son installed the rest of the fence for my yard and not only is it legal, but it is professionally done. Not like the mess left by Lewis Landscaping. My sympathies are with my neighbors who are older and not up for battle. They paid top price for the fence. The only recourse I have is to file a complaint on Unilocal and Angie’s List.

I lived in Beaverton for years and used Lewis Landscape to keep my house looking nice. They were very affordable and kept my front yard completely done. They trimmed bushes, mowed the lawn, handled fertilization, and generally did it all. They even mowed my back yard for free since my front was under their time allotment.
I used to try to do this all myself and used to get complaints from neighbors since I couldn’t keep up with the real green thumbs in the area.
Lewis saved me.

Lewis Landscape has excellent hardworking staff who care about their work and providing quality materials and service. Our friends used them and highly recommended them. My husband and I are very happy with the work they did for us, specifically we are pleased with the selection of quality plants and engaged staff.

Jim L Lewis landscaping replied with maybe one third of the truth! He can spin it any way he likes„ and put in, what he thinks was said, he was no where near the original phone call i made, I am telling you, it started out with their secretary putting words into my mouth! I precicely asked for someone to give me IDEAS! not sure what part of that word she did not understand,
Anyone on earth can give ideas for 100, 200 or 400 dollars, They were not interested whatsoever! not enough money they said, I NEVER EVER asked that they do work for me! just wanted ideas, don’t let his story fool you! I stick to my original comment! The secretary told me WE work on small project all the way to large projects,
However after this incident she said well, we do work with more upscale people! we really do not do work for such a small amount! I did not ask her (again) to give me a quote, a price, an estimate, I wanted IDEAS, and she knew exactely what i wanted, The owner, as i stated was cold as ice and could not have cared less! He states i was combative? flat out lie, I was in too much shock to move! I noticed he has alot of one stars, hmm wonder why? HE is a flat out liar, and has been given false information from his staff, LOKK at his stars he has more bad reports than good!
I do not recall asking him for anything free He made that up himself, who knows why? none of this is made up, please believe me when i tell you they will treat you like dirt unless you have millions! talk about bad breeding and greed at its finest, and a liar taboot! PLEASE watch out for this company! !!!I noticed on many of his reviews he is trying to explain himself with one excuse after the other! I highly suggest he take a class in honesty and respect,. His answer to my complaint was a joke! all made up and who know why? I never asked for anything whatsoever, just ideas and he had me asking for the moon and a deck and a jacusi, and a flood light and free grass and on and on, and who knows what else he made up to make him look good! EVERYONE WATCH OUT!!!
If his company offered a FREE makeover on my yard it would be an imphadic NO! NEVER!!! NOT FROM HIM! what does that tell you about his statement that i wanted a frre job!

They fixed all deficiencies and having lived with the hard scape it is everything I asked for.

Jim Lewis and Lewis Landscapes has a passion for landscaping. They pride themselves in excellence and integrity. I would recommend Jim anytime. His professional image shows.

If I could give minus stars I would. Have spent thousand of dollars with this company. Always did great work until this year. Met with owner Jim today he told me they grew so much. From 200 maintance customers to 310. They can’t give me same service. I said you now only have 309. Good for you you grew. Customer service gone.

We had an issue with them last year, but the owner made good on his word and got our yard ready for summer. They did a great job and we couldn’t be happier.

Do not do business with this company. There customer service does not care about what they say. They told me it would cost $ 17 to fix a sprinkler head that was missed on their first service call. They then come out and argue the fact that the sprinkler head was missed on the first visit and charge my family $ 70. How nice since I was traveling on business and my wife gave them a check. I spent over $ 350 the first time to get a couple of valves and heads replaced and now another $ 70 because they are dishonest. I spent a total of $ 670 this summer with them and wish I could take every penny back. Absolutely dishonest.
