Just wanted to give a shout out to the guys and gals at JBTF to say I’m a happy customer. People can get extremely nervous and possessive about their cars and I’m no exception. I was also a fickle customer who lost his own wheel lock and was tempted to blame the shop, but I found it later. These guys went an extra mile to make me happy when they found some shiny valve caps for my rims just because that’s what I wanted when getting new tires. I really appreciated the followup text message to get feedback on my service. When I had a warranty issue with shot TPMS sensors they checked them for me on the spot even though I had to go to Honda to ultimately get the work done. I was again tempted to blame them since I had 4 months prior got new tires there but it turned out to be a faulty sensor. These guys even thank me for coming in for regular rotations because they are cool like that. I think the mystery around car repair is frightening for most people. I believe in the quality service and integrity of this shop for the best prices and the willingness to keep me informed and feeling cared for. They made me want to give up on the Honda dealership who consistently rest on their laurels and give me spotty service at best. I think that’s really as good as it gets.

I was referred to this place by a friend, was told that they were super friendly and always did the job right. I called in to ask a few questions, the guy was very impatient with me and super rude. Cut me off when I wasn’t even finished asking my question and gave me a sarcastic rude response before he even listened to what I was going to ask. Huge turn off. Definitely am not giving this business any of my money. I try to support local businesses but looks like I’m going to schwabs.

The GOOD: No waiting, very nice staff, free popcorn in the waiting area to snack on as you watch tv. Quick service. The BAD: They cross threaded one of my lug nuts causing it to break off. There is NO way the tire guy did not realize he did that. He remained hush hush, I paid my bill and on my way I went pleased… or so I thought. One week later I had to remove the tire to do some repairs to my vehicle and discovered one lug nut wouldnt come off. It broke the stud when I tried to remove it. Cross threaded. I wont be returning there. I am a business owner with integrity. Dishonesty and poor workmanship means 2 stars from me.

I love this place, well, as much as you can love a place where you have to take your darn car and spend money! It is a family run business and although they seem to always be busy, they make time to look at my car for me. My wife and son come here also. I use them for tires, breaks, struts, and oil changes. I have never had to bring a car back for anything, their pricing is reasonable and competitive, and if they do not have what you need they get it quickly. They are a local business that I choose to support and it is well worth it. Say hi to Jen for me when you drop in!

Wonderful service & definitely a place I would recommend to get your tires done at. They do a great job. I got my tires done a few weeks ago & out of the blue. I ended up having a nail in one of my tires– they changed it without any charge. Their price is affordable & their service is awesome.

My check engine light went on, scared me. I was so happy with the quick service. Thank you

Rick from the fix auto recommended me this place when I got a flat tire. I drove there with my spear tire. They had me waited for 15 min, completely fixed my flat tire, put the spare into my trunk with the original condition. And all this for free! I’m so happy with the service and I want to recommend to all of you!

I come to Jim Bacon’s quite frequently and always have a positive experience. There are never any surprises and the crew is good and straight forward. Thanks guys!

I emailed Jenny for a quote and she responded quickly. Called them the next morning, they ordered the tires, and set up an appointment that same afternoon. They had me up and running within an hour. What’s to complain about?

I have nothing but positive things to say about Jim Bacon’s. I would finish the rest of their name by adding Tire Factory, but I left it off on purpose, because they are so much more than just a tire shop.
They definitely give the Tire Factory ties a great name! They have always treated me right, and take more than great care of anyone else that I have recommended to go there as well.
They are currently working on a project that I have been trying to do for some time now on my 2013 mustang convertible by customizing it to make it my own. They listened to everything that I wanted to do to it, and didn’t push to do something I didn’t have in mind.
Very honest and trustworthy shop with more than fair pricing. I won’t go anywhere else as long as the Bacon family is running this shop!

For the most part, we are all here getting the same product, tires. Not a specialty business. What sets Jim Bacon’s apart from the rest of the tire shops is service.
I’ve always had a connection with Les Schwab and since that person has been gone, I have been amazed at the level they have attempted to take advantage of me, as a woman.
So here we are at our new trusted local tire shop with these boys taking great care of us.
As a small business owner, I appreciate how they have earned my business after a manufacturer error, making the problem right.

Today I took my car in for a tire rotation on the tires I had purchased here. Jim jr came out to say the tires were shot. I’ve had the tires for a little over a year. I was pretty upset. i couldn’t believe I needed to replace the tires so soon-I’d done the alignment, rotations etc. I was ready to go somewhere else even though I’ve been getting my tires here for about 15 years. However, Jim looked me in the eye and said they wanted to keep me as a customer and he offered to make it right.
Seriously, I run my own small business and I admire anyone who really offers service. My experiences here have always been positive, but this visit was amazing. You rarely get customer service like this. I will be telling all my friends and family. I will be a returning customer.

I have been here several times for oil changes using the auto saver deals on living social. I agree with other reviewers that it often takes longer than quoted to get an oil change. I’ve waited up to an hour and a half after being told 45 minutes on more than one occasion.
I also bought a set of tires here 2 years & 26K miles ago. I noticed they were looking a little bald, so I brought them into Good Neighbor tire center who informed me that these tires were warrantied for 5 years/​40K miles and said they have never heard of this brand, they had to look it up online. I called Jim Bacon today to ask about some sort of partial refund on these crappy tires and I was told the only way to honor the warranty would be to get the tires replaced by them. WHY would I want to buy tires from you again when the last set you sold me barely lasted HALF their lifetime?! Never again! Go to Good Neighbor instead, they’re just down the road and their great Unilocal reviews are accurate!

I will give these people one star because they’re apparently breathing.
I took my 2010 Honda here to replace a tire damaged from a pot hole. Jenny told me the tires on the car which were purchased by the previous owner at another big o tire location in Salem were discontinued.
She said she’d order a close match and get it installed. I got the car home then looked at the tires only to notice the replacement tired was totally and shockingly different from the other three tires. I was shocked called her back she ordered three matching tires to make a matching set.
I’ve taken the car to get the tires rotated twice at Jim Bacon big o tires. First time they installed lug nuts on passenger front tire which were way too long for the wheel they looked like they weren’t tightened. I had to go to the Honda dealer buy my own lug nuts then Jenny credited me back this charge.
I went back last week to get my tires rotated again. When I got home I again noticed a too long lug nut placed on the passenger front tire. I had to go buy my own replacement lug nut at the Honda dealer again because the tech told me they’d have to order a lug nut.
I’m at Les Schwab now getting a new set of tires and ending my miserable experience with Jim Bacon.
Do yourself a favor skip Jim Bacon and go to Les Schwab.

Throw in a second star, just because I feel like erring on a nicer side. Do not for a second believe that this means I’m a happy customer.

–Accusing the customer of doing something wrong
–Not stating the return policy, not even on the receipt
–Business practices which encourage swindling the customer, as opposed to earning the customer’s respect with decent service
We went in the other day to get snow chains for a Subaru Outback. Unlike everywhere else we had tried, the chains were in stock, but they were $ 80. (Most places sell them for around $ 40-​$ 50, including other auto stores.) We bought them only because there was snow on the ground and we were about to head on a trip up north. We were told by Jennifer B. that we could return the chains so long as they were unused. So we bought the chains and went on our trip. While we were away, we found snow chains at Sears Auto for half the price and decided to return the still unused chains.
Upon returning to Beaverton, we stopped back at Jim Bacon’s Tire Factory to return the overpriced chains. The man working in the office that day had to have been having a bad day; if this was normal behavior, he should have not been hired in the first place. Once he heard why we were in, he straight up accused us of trying to rip off the company. He claimed that the chains «were not a rental» and that we couldn’t return them until April 2014. We informed him that this was the first we had heard of this policy, but he retorted that every customer was informed of this policy. So I double checked the receipt – it had absolutely no return policy written on it anywhere. None of the additional paperwork that came in the envelope the receipt came in mentioned anything about what he called «a dead date.»
Had Jennifer B. told us about not being able to return them until April, we would have put some thought into our purchase first, but she didn’t tell us about it. If the chains were a «rental» like this man said, I would have actually gotten some use out of the chains. But I didn’t even open the package they came in.
We bothered to stay just long enough to ask one more question: can we return the chains at a different Jim Bacon’s Tire Factory? «Probably not.» As a customer in a sea of customers, I feel like any explanation to this would just be preaching to the choir.
Save yourself a headache. Just make the trip to the nearest Sears Auto Center.

***Really?*** 9÷1÷12 Am I invisible? Not one but two customers walk right in front of me (not customers that has already been in the process of being helped) as I am waiting to be helped. The general manager and employees really need to ask who was first in line and not whoever walks up to you with their problem? After the whole place being empty then I get a «has anyone helped you»? Then to add more fuel to the fire the wait for an oil change is 1 ½ hours not including the actual oil change. Sigh maybe just caught them on the wrong day.

I really was going to not going to submit this review until I came back on 9÷4÷12 and recieved more bad service. But I am enslaved to this place by the dang living social deal for 3 free oil changes which is not free just cheaper with no disclosure of a $ 3 disposal fee? Be aware of that.
They told me it would take 45 minutes, but 9:43AM –10:59AM 9÷4÷12. The reason why it took so long was because they forgot about me while they had their joking conversations as I was waiting in the lobby. I was concerned why it took so long? So I walked to the front door to see if the car was still in the oil change bay and what do you know, it was already done and parked outside. That just got me even more frustrated because I had other things to do! Who knows how long I would have been waiting in the lobby if I hadn’t walked up to the front!
I will say that they do have good pricing on their tires and they price match or beat it. This is the only positive experience I’ve had here.

Got a Super Saver Card for Christmas to test out the services here. I had an oil change done on my 1996 Jeep Cherokee about two months ago that leaked from the filter all over my starter, causing it to go out just the other day. I brought the issue to the attention of the manager, Jennifer, who told me that I would have to pay to have my vehicle towed back to their shop (10 miles) so they could confirm, with no guarantee that they would replace the part. Jennifer would not even agree to look at photo evidence when I expressed unease at footing the tow up front and hung up on me. Never going back here again. STAY AWAY — THEY CAN’T EVEN GET AN OIL CHANGE DONE RIGHT.

Businesses can’t always be perfect but for the business to read the reviews & respond to each one trying to make things right says to me good customer service. I won’t be taking them up on the free oil change b/​c I don’t accept free services or products for my reviews (good or bad). But I will be adding 2 stars for great customer service!

Got a living social deal for 3 oil changes for $ 30 bucks. Pretty good deal right? Well, the whole thing started off great. While reading my book waiting for them to do the change, Dustin came and got me to show me a few things with the car…
«You plan on keeping this very long?» While I was a little concerned by this question, I took a peak at what he was concerned about. He states, «It looks like you’re leaking some oil here… and you’re missing your inspection cover… did you know that?» Here’s where I start to wonder, what the f***…
An oil leak is something I can have my mechanic in Eugene fix, nothing that will cause my car to be worthless. Second, while talking with Dustin and looking at my missing inspection cover, we both agree on how clean the area looks that’s missing the cover. It was completely spotless… the holes that the 6 bolts go into were shiny and silver, completely clean.
We both agreed it needed replaced, but would run fine without it… So after the change I ventured home. Here’s where common sense sets in…
I commute 46 miles round trip from home to work. I drove 23 miles just to get to the Tire Factory. When they jacked up my car and showed me the cover was missing, it was spotless. 18 miles later when I get home, I lifted my car, crawled under and had a look. The whole area was dirty from debris.
So you’re going to tell me that after driving 46 miles that day, 23 just to the shop to get my oil changed, that no dirt got in that area what so ever… Nothing at all. BUT 18 miles later, after leaving that place the whole area was completely dirty. That doesn’t make sense. Not one bit…
I called them and brought it to their attention. Dustin was baffled and had no idea, BUT remembered how clean it was when I got it there. I explained my thought process of the whole thing, and he said he would speak with the owner and get back to me. Hours later, Jennifer (the manager) calls me and has no clue whats really going on, or why it would be missing. Simply cause they wouldn’t need to touch that area while doing an oil change… I understand that, but somethings off here. So after talking with her, she says she’ll get back to me. Another hour later, the mechanic calls me back. Gives me a BS story about why it might have happened, and why it was clean (he thinks they whiped it down… No they fuckin’ didn’t…) he said he called a scrap yard to see if they had a spare, but no luck. I told the mechanic to forget it…
My mechanic in Eugene is going to fix the issues, but something went down there and nobody could explain what the hell happened.
I see where they are coming from, and they see my logic, yet it’s a mystery.
Just to top off the whole experience, my wife took our Jetta down there for an oil change. Our Jetta runs on synthetic oil. Where as jiffy lube can change the oil, use synthetic and get us in and out, the Tire Factory had to special order the oil and then wanted to charge us $ 60 for it. How is that part of the 3 oil changes for $ 30?

The guys at Jim Bacon’s Tire Factory are awesome, I found a particular set of 20″ rims I wanted for my Trailblazer and Les Schwab told me they didn’t make them for my car because it has an odd bolt pattern. I told the guy that I could buy them online and he didn’t believe me, so I went to Jim Bacon’s and they had a set there the next day! That was my first experience with them, and since they have always been great.
One time I sent my wife there because a friend of mine had a brand new set of studded tires but I wasn’t sure they would fit on her car, and as sketched out I am of sending my wifey to any sort of tire place, mechanic or anything like that, she went to Jim Bacon’s and they didn’t pressure her at all, just gave her 3 quotes of other set of studded tires that would work for her car. And to top it off, they saw the headlights on her car, and used their little magic buffer thing and cleaned the lenses off to make them look new, and didn’t charge her anything even though she wasn’t buying anything that day.
I am writing this review as a precursor to the bad review I am about to write for the Tire Factory in Newberg! Their manager is awful. Jimmy rules!
