India Connect is a small mom and pop Indian Grocery Store. We stop by every time we are at the sushi restaurant few doors down. They have fresh coconuts and hard to find vegetables for curry at very reasonable prices. We also like the yogurt and dried beans for healthy eating. We’ve also had luck with looseleaf organic boxed tea and Indian sweets.

This little store has all you could possibly need when it comes to Indian spices or food. Reasonably priced and very friendly and helpful owners.

If 2.5 stars was an option, I’d use that. A friend recommended this place, so we tried it out in lieu of our usual desi store. I don’t think we’ll be going back. It gets points for being the only store in the PDX area, including H-Mart and Fubonn, where I have found tindora/tondli bhaji and green guavas. It loses points because so much of the produce on display was rotten or wilted. I was able to buy a couple guavas for a dish, but none of the tindora was salvageable for anything other than a compost pile. Similarly, many of the items on the shelves were past their sell-by dates or looked like they had been sitting on the shelves for a while. It is possible that you could have better luck if you know exactly what day the produce comes in. The service was what made the visit especially strange. We were the only customers in the store, but the two men staffing the place did not acknowledge us. When I brought my items up to the counter, the man again did not look at me or speak to me. He pointed to the total on the register, and when I gave him the money, he proceeded to hand the change to my husband instead of giving it back to me. Perplexed, my husband handed me the money and we left.

I love India connect and their wonderful customer service. Be sure to check the expiry date on all products. You can also buy, frozen Indian king fish from this grocer, this fish is particularly suited to make Indian curries.
