You can spend thousands in this place and they nail you with $ 175 delivery garage. Ridiculous. They won’t get my business.

I went to Ethan Allen with a friend thinking about purchasing a new couch for my home. I was greeted by Rachel Jones one of their design experts. She asked questions that helped me clarify for me what I wanted, showed me the options I had, and was patient as I hemmed and hawed at what I wanted. Additionally she listened to the needs of my home(wall colors, pets, persons in the home etc). She took the time to contemplate the type of person and lifestyle I lived. She then offered several fabric suggestions, style options and where it counted noted the advantages and disadvantages of the styles/fabrics for my home. I was quite pleased in the end with the couch ordered and the quality. At Rachel has a warm smile that made the experience a pleasure.

I went to Ethan Allen to get my bedroom furniture and had a wonderful experience. Even though I wasn’t able to do the entire bedroom at one time, my designer gave me a full design plan and kept me aware of when sales were so that I could buy things a piece at a time. I bought my bed first and then two of their gorgeous mirrored nightstands. She also helped me with paint color and lighting. I would recommend them to anyone looking to pull a room together and I will definitely be back.

If I were basing this review completely on the finished product /piece of furniture, it would be 5 stars. I absolutely love my new entertainment center. It is gorgeous and well made. The color is great. Everyone who visits my house says it looks awesome. It really brings the room together. Etc. etc. etc. That being said, it was expensive. Protip — don’t ever buy anything full price. By waiting until a promotion you should be able to get at least 10 — 20% off the purchase price, and if you sign up for the emails you will essentially get notified every time they are having a sale. Considering the cost of the furniture, it is definitely worth waiting as 10% off your purchase price is significant. I purchased my entertainment center something like December 26th. I got the spiel about how it’d be about 12 weeks for them to make the furniture /ship it to the distribution center before it could be delivered. That was fine, as I anticipated it. It was delivered March 22(12 weeks later). When it was delivered, the delivery men did an awesome job of assembling it. They did give me fair warning that they could only assemble the furniture itself and were not able to assist in getting it set up with all of my electronics. I’m glad that I was prepared with the little padded feet /floor protectors as the guys added those to the unit’s feet as they put it together — it would have been challenging for me to add them once it was fully assembled, and they really helped me be able to move the piece more easily.(Side note: I have laminate flooring, so it was relatively easy for me + 1 other person to scoot it into place against the wall once it was set up, but it would have been a challenge, to say the least, with just 2 people on carpet.) Upon delivery, it was immediately obviously that 3 of the drawer pulls on the unit were wrong(metal instead of wood). That was disappointing as it had a lopsided look, and I wanted to be super excited about my new furniture and show it off. What was even more disappointing was the fact that it took another month(April 24th) for replacements to be delivered /installed.(Ultimately they ended up replacing the drawers rather than just the drawer pulls, which I was surprised about. But hey, whatever works.) That was fixed, and I was happy… until about a month later when someone pointed out to me that a piece of moulding was upside-down. I called /e-mailed them about it on May 25th. The furniture was under warranty, so the repair(thankfully) was going to be at no cost. A replacement piece was delivered and installed in-home on June 19th. The repair looks great, and I can’t tell there was even an issue. Ultimately, I’m frustrated that it essentially took 6 months to get my furniture(in the condition I expected it to be upon delivery). For the amount that I paid, I would have expected more attention to detail at the factory. I’m completely understanding of the fact that it takes time to order and receive replacement parts, but if their quality control had been better, my furniture should never have been delivered in the state that it was in. Their customer service was very responsive, and the issues I had were promptly fixed, so I do appreciate that. I’ll probably end up buying more furniture from Ethan Allen in the future because I like the styles and the quality, but I’m just going to be very careful to inspect everything to make sure it is delivered as expected.

They claim 8 – 12 weeks and 12 being the worst. We are having to wait more than 14 weeks for what JD(sales gal) claim is custom made furniture even though they are end tables that are clearly mass produced somewhere OFFSHORE. (FYI We had actual custom made furniture done by COCOCOHOME.COM that was literally«CUSTOM» made HEREINTHEUSA, they built 5 large pieces and shipped it to us inside of 7 weeks from NC. We couldn’t be happier with our pieces…2 large Chesterfields, 2 English Arm chairs and an ottoman!) Truth is, Ethan Allen looks for the absolute cheapest transport methods, and wants to do as much volume as possible so they can save themselves $$ making YOU wait. Keep this in mind if you purchase from them as they won’t be putting this info out there as they hound you in their showroom. Interestingly too, they do offer you their floor models if you want them right now. For some reason, they seem to be able to send out their floor models, I wonder if they have to wait 3.5 months for replacements? Ya right.
