Positive Xmas tree shopping experience. Thirty seconds on the lot and I’d found my tree. Great service by a polite guy, and I was on my way. Perfect.

Lots of variety, but it’s so busy that it’s hard to get service. Even during off times. I’ve walked out twice now when fully intending to buy, and gone to the Bethany nursery instead. Oh, and one guy there is a total snob– you’ll know him when you meet him.

Bob’z is awesome, I always buy my Christmas Wreaths from these guys, every single year for many years. I also buy my Mothers Day Baskets here. They are a seasonal business, they are there during the holidays selling trees/wreath’s, etc and also in the Spring/Summer for plants, bushes and trees. Their prices are good, their selection is a little sparse compared to Farmington Gardens(my Go To place). I have purchased some vegetable starts here and tried to buy some plants this summer, but they did not have the exact specimen I was looking for. I did buy my tomato starts here. It is small, so not as overwhelming as some places are and they are very kind folks. They are not quite as informed as an actual Garden Store about different varieties of plants, but as long as you aren’t looking for something specialized, they will work just fine. At the end of the Summer season they have great sales so you can pick up some nice deals on some slightly long in in the tooth trees and shrubs.

Friend recommended. The guys were helpful and quick. They had a fireplace going. Prices were amazing and we have found the most perfect tree we’ve ever had as a family. Super amazing experience!

BOB’Z is a terrific garden center. Their customer service is the best. I was looking for a specific plant that some of the big nurseries carried, but since they were out of stock I thought I was out of luck finding one. BOB’Z was out also, but said they would look around and call us when they found it. It took a couple of weeks, but they found the variety and quantity we wanted. No other nursery/garden center was willing to go beyond ‘no’ but the folks at BOB’Z understand good customer service and delivered it. We highly recommend them.

This place has the best customer service. I had called them to find out if they offer any delivery on their topsoil and compost. I’ve also wanted to look into buying some mulch to place in my trees and shrubs. The older gentleman that answered the phone was super nice and very knowledgeable. Even though they do not offer a delivery service on their yet he referred me to a place that does offer delivery and the best price in town. The place he was referring me to is Schlegel Barkdust. He also mentioned that he prefer bark dust as oppose to mulch because they are easier to work with and both have about the same amount of nutrients.

The selection is amazing and the prices are cheap! I just got a gallon sized Salvia and a much bigger(not sure of size) blueberry bush for $ 17 total. Gallon plants are $ 7.99 and blueberry was $ 9.99. They are seasonal, open from April 1st to September 30th and sell Christmas trees in the winter. Stop by and see a selection you won’t find anywhere else!

I would often drive by this place and think well I should stop in someday. As it turned out a member of my Parish works there and I decided to check it out after speaking to her. WOW! I got to a lot of garden centers around Portland, you know the ‘usual suspects’ so I know who has what and at what price. Bobz is small but mighty in their unique selections of both the more frequently seen plants and flower but has some very special items, Bonsai for example, very unusual hydrangeas, spectacular annuals as well. The prices are excellent as well. On Mother’s Day I probably drove 50 miles looking for something special… the big centers had a lot of overpriced but incredibly mundane selections. Bobz Garden Center’s selection was special rather than just a lot of the same stuff. I’m going back this weekend!

Bob’z is THE place to go for your Christmas tree, whether it’s at the pre-cut lot on TV Highway in Aloha, or at the u-cut/they-cut farm out in Estacada. We actually stopped first at the Aloha lot because they are one of the only places around that does FLOCKED trees! And they had some decent ones, but we wanted a taller tree with the«first snow» look. So, we called out to Estacada and Tyler(he’s AWESOME!!) took down the description of the tree height/shape I wanted, had it cut and flocked, and it was ready the next day! And for an 81⁄2 ft flocked tree it was only $ 80!!! Plus the gas to drive out there and back, but SO worth it. They have a a nice gravel(not muddy like lots of places) parking lot, plenty of covered space, all the free hot chocolate/candy canes, and huge variety of beautiful regular and flocked trees. This will definitely be the place we go to every year from now on! Thanks Tyler!!!

Right now is the time to hit up this little gem because it closes the first and then opens back up in the spring. The plants here are simply amazing — the quality for the price really is something. And I always encounter the best folks working here as well who really know their stuff.

This is one of those«YOUBETTERACTFAST» types of reviews because Bob’z Garden Center in Aloha is about to close for the Fall and won’t re-open until April 1st, 2009! We happened to be in the Aloha neighborhood for some reason or other and saw their«everything must go» signs so stopped in to check them out. In fact, I cannot guarantee they are even still open, but My Lady and I were there 2 days ago and they had some pretty phenomenal end-of-season sales on plants, shrubs, and even fruit trees — while supplies last! Bob’z is a family owned & operated business that’s been open since 1975(according to their website), and their Garden Center is basically just a covered section of the parking lot in the«Aloha Villa Mall»(hardly what I’d call a mall, but whateva) just off TV Hwy. Apparently they also sell Christmas trees at this location, as well as the cut-your-own variety out in Estacada. The guy who helped us(his name may have been Mike) was friendly and while he wasn’t completely knowledgeable about everything they sold, he did give us lots of pointers and helped direct us to what they had in stock that might fit our needs. We ended up buying a 7ft bamboo tree, a young banana tree, and some various other small plants and herbs, all of which totaled about $ 50 after the discounts. After shopping around a bit for bamboos I’m pretty sure we couldn’t have gotten anything anywhere near this size and fullness for less than $ 50, so it’s like we got the other 5 small plants and the beautiful, healthy looking banana tree for free! When we were there they still had a few more bamboos(both running and clumping) as well as some nice dogwoods, and beautiful Asian pear trees(a few even bearing a fruit or two) all for sale at 20−40% off or more. The selection was a bit picked over since they’re about to close up shop for the season(did I mention you should act fast?), and they weren’t selling anything besides the plants and trees themselves(no pots, planters, or tools), but if you are looking for a few more additions to your yard or garden and are in the neighborhood, check out Bob’z Garden Center. The prices were so good that I’d almost suggest traveling as far as we did(from NE Portland), but call first to make sure they’re still open and be warned — they’re selling down their supply so they may not have much left. I had a hard time figuring many stars to give them because they were so low on inventory, and to be honest I’m not really an expert on nurseries and garden centers, but I figure 4*s pretty much sums up how happy we were with our purchase(at least assuming they don’t die within the month).
