Black Rock Coffee Bar

I love Black Rock coffee and am so excited to see this location. One, it’s really close to my house so it’s not an out of the way stop, ever. And two, the other Black Rock that I drive by on my commute to work is the one on the corner of 185^th/​Baseline, which is a nightmare intersection at best and really only accessible (safely) if you are coming from Baseline eastbound or 185^th southbound. And I’m basically never headed in either direction.
I’ve been on a tea kick lately, occasionally chai, and the chai latte here is very, very good. I prefer nonfat milk, generally, and I’d recommend that here — it’s rich and decadent enough without the whole milk, but if that’s your preference you go. Service is always friendly and usually really quick.
My one meh about Black Rock is I wish they had a few other food options. Nothing cooked or anything, mind you — I get that speed is one of the values here and I appreciate it. But maybe bagels and a cream cheese packet? A piece of fruit, or an oatmeal cup (you add the water later)? The available munchies tend to be on the sweet side and sometimes something a little more filling/​savory would be nice, particularly for a quick breakfast.

Barista was the typical hipster/​too cool for school dude. Nice guy, great coffee, good location. That’s all I have about this place.

If I’m not drinking my Mexican Mocha from Manaia Coffee House & Island Grill, I’m ordering it from here! We live up the street from this location so it’s super convenient & the staff there are AWESOME & SUPER FRIENDLY! Never had a bad Mexican Mocha & their Mint Oreo Shake w/​o coffee is great!!! & I hate mint lol. Thanks BR!

Oh my gosh. Best coffee shop. All of the staff are so sweet and have a lot of knowledge on everything. I love coming through for the great coffee and conversation. I go out of my way every time. And they have an awesome seating area outside of the shop!!! Ah love it! I highly recommend coming and seeing for yourself!

Today was the worst experience. I was told since I ordered an iced mocha with an extra shot and light ice that my drink would not be full. I said just add a little milk. I order the exact same drink 7 to 10 times a week. He then told me I would get charged for the milk. The drink is literally no more than ½ inch from the top of the glass. I said no way I have never been charged extra for maybe ¹⁄₃ cup of nonfat milk added to my drink. He then acts like I’m an idiot and says in a very snotty rude voice that why can’t I see the point. It costs money for that. Then I said something about I don’t care it is ridiculous and he said the same thing again and I said don’t act like I’m ignorant. He yells at me «did you just call me ignorant? !» I said no, don’t you act like I’m ignorant. My point is I have never been charged for the milk. He was so rude and yelling. I told him I will never buy a drink again from Black Rock. I called my husband and told him the story and he won’t buy one again either.

Great family owned and operated coffee shop! The staff is always smiling with coffee ready for u when u get there. Highly recommended

I love Black Rock but this one seems to have super slow service!!! I’ve only been here a handful of times since they’ve opened and it’s been painfully slow every time. Hoping they hire a few more baristas or something?

I love black rock and I’m so excited this location opened right next to my home but I’m so upset that I will never return to this location with all the convenience because I’ve been here 3 times so far at different times of the day but it’s always very very slow. It’s a drive through so you expect less than 12 minutes wait but it’s slow!!! Today I was here on a Saturday morning. So sad

I am a long time Black Rock addict. This is an easy drive up addition to my routine as I am on TV highway all the time.
One of my fav baristas is here. They are all friendly and efficient however.
Today when I got my mocha he knew exactly what to do. Iced, half sweet. Yeah!$ 3.50.
They even have a couple umbrella tables at this location if you want to hang out.
