Beaverton Psychic

In addition to being a scientific/​engineering consultant, I am a mystic, a spiritual healer and an intuitive. Because of this, I usually get a number of readings each year from psychics who are strangers to me.
On a weekday afternoon in mid-​2012, while driving west on SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, I noticed a house on the left side of the highway with three large signs reading along the lines of «Psychic — Palm Tarot», along with a phone #. One sign read «No Appointment Needed!».
I shortly pulled off the highway and called. I asked the woman who answered if I could get a reading on short notice, since I was near her shop. She said yes, telling me that many of her customers were, like me, walk-​in customers who had not made an appointment. I headed back and pulled into the parking area in front of the house. Toward the left of the parking area, parked near the road, was a brightly-​colored muscle car with a prominent hood scoop.
A heavy-​set dark-​haired man in his thirties answered the door, and ushered me into the living room, gesturing for me to sit on a small sofa at the front of the room. Returning to his seat, he told me that the reader was his sister, Tammie, and that she was currently resting in a room to my right for a bit, and that she’d be with me in 5 minutes. As had Tammie, he reassured me that she regularly saw plenty of unscheduled walk-​in clients.
As I waited, Tammie’s brother, whom I’ll call Vic, and I exchanged first names and some pleasantries. He kept trying to draw me into conversation, and at first I declined, because I always prefer to get a totally cold reading, where the only things that a psychic knows about me at the start of the reading are my first name, the date and place of my birth, and where I live. I prefer to tell them nothing more about myself until after the reading has ended. Thus, I certainly did not want to share any details of my life with Vic, since Tammie, nearby, might overhear them, or else he might share the info with her.
Vic persisted mightily in trying to draw me into conversation, and gradually, as my promised 5 minute wait reached 15 minutes, I relented, shrugging inwardly to myself about this glaring exception to my rule. He asked me where I was from, and why I was visiting the Portland area. He also asked me what I did for a living, and whether I was married, and a number of other questions about my life. I answered each question briefly, realizing the he was mining me for information that would be very useful for Tammie during the reading if she wished to fake it.
After I had been waiting about 20 minutes, I indicated to Vic that I was leaving, since the promised 5 minute wait had grown to 20 minutes. An older dark-​haired woman briefly appeared from a hallway to the right and announced that she needed another 5 minutes before she’d be ready. Time passed. Vic continued to chat with me, asking me lots of questions about myself and my life, sharing that he and Tammie had recently moved to the area from Los Angeles to avoid the crime and congestion of LA, and he mentioned that the muscle car outside was his.
Another 20 minutes passed. I again indicated that I was leaving due to the long delay. Tammie appeared to tell me that she would be delayed just 3 more minutes. 20 more minutes passed as Vic tried to chat me up more; I had now been sitting on the sofa for an hour; I stood up again in order to leave. Tammie suddenly appeared again to tell me that she needed «2 more minutes» before the reading. Another 20 minutes passed without Tammie ever reappearing. Vic continued to try to chat me up, prying for more information about me.
I then realized that I had been waiting for an hour and 25 minutes, and that Tammie was not yet ready. I stood up and explained that I was leaving, since the promised 5 minute wait had now stretched to almost 90 minutes. Tammie magically reappeared (gosh, she musta been psychic!) to tell me that she needed one more minute. I agreed to wait a minute.
Five minutes passed, as Vic continued to ask me more questions. Tammie never showed. I stood up and announced that I was leaving, since over 95 minutes had passed since I had first sat down. I ignored Vic’s protestations, and walked out the door, not bothering to wait for Tammie to reappear to request another «2 minute» delay!
So, ater a promise of only a 5 minute wait, I waited over 90 minutes for a reading that never occured, and for the entire time that I waited, Vic had tried to pump me for information about my life, info that would be very useful to Tammie during a reading. And it was obvious that Tammie could indeed hear my replies to Vic’s questions, for she had magically appeared each time that I had threatened to leave. These behaviors were not at all civil, nor professional, nor honest, and were very strange and quite suspicious; none of these were good omens!

This woman is a hokey. She’s such a fake. Nothing she told me was even close to accurate except that I have a «creativity block.» No shit. Who doesn’t?! Everything else was so far off. If she can’t get anything right about the present, why would I believe anything she says about the future? Don’t go to this woman, she just wants to take your money.
