We would like to acknowledge the great service provided by Yadira. After a long day of events we came into the lounge and were immediately greeted by Yadira. Once seated we were served chips and salsa right away. By the time we finished our dinner meals were delivered including a customized dish for our disabled son. The service provided by Yadira was exceptional! We look forward to future dining at the restaurant.

This location is ok. Went here for a family dinner. Typical chips and salsa to start out. Chips were fresh and hot. Salsa was ok, nothing spectacular. I had the chicken macho burrito. Kinda meh for me. The chicken didn’t have too much flavor in my opinion. I’m full, but not impressed. My wife had the chicken mole and that was really tasty. There were a few other things at the table, but nothing really memorable. Wasn’t my first choice and I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go again. Service was fairly decent.

I typically don’t write bad reviews unless the food/service are both highly unacceptable. This place falls into that category. I waited over an hour for a «to go» order that was supposed to take«10 mins» when I placed the order on the phone. I sat in the lobby for what seemed like forever, and then when I finally got my cheese enchilada, the cheese wasn’t even melted and the sauce was cold! They didn’t even give me a modest discount, when it should’ve been free of charge altogether. I will never go back here, even though it’s only 5 mins from my house. La Hacienda Real and Raul’s are MUCH better options in the area.

We had a large party for a birthday and we were unintentionally confusing for our sweet waitress, Lupe! Lupe did a GREAT job helping figure out our separate paycheck confusion! The food was yummy and the service was spectacular! Will definitely be back!

I’m beginning to gather that many of the Mexican restaurants in town are party places – stereotypical décor, cliched food, oversized portions. They seem designed as fun places to drink lots of margaritas or beer and tequila. If that is what you are seeking, and just want some food to slow down the alcohol, this place is a four. If you are coming for food – two stars is a generous review. Salsa is ground up canned tomatoes and paste with some flavorings thrown in. The food is similar. Not worth a longer review.

We both ordered our food, and great that it was out within 4 – 5 minutes. but only if it’s actually hot. My gf ordered a salad, so she was fine with hers being under temp, but I sent my food back, and declined to order anything else under the presumption that they aren’t holding their foods at a hot enough temperature.

Back in the day(1990s) I considered Azteca to be the very peak of fine dining and the best food in town. Whenever I was asked«what is your favorite food,» my reply was«Mexican,» with Azteca specifically in mind. When traveling to Seattle area, I went out of my way to find an Azteca to eat at because I knew I liked the food. In the early 2000s, this specific Azteca location was my go to date place. Not for the atmosphere, but for the food and excellent service. I was here at least twice a month, and frequently four or fives times a month. Unfortunately I stopped going here on a regular basis in about 2009. The service at that last visit was mediocre but I shrugged it off as a bad night. I started enjoying the bounty of restaurants that Portland was starting to get and forgot about Azteca until about 2011 when the craving for a decent happy hour drink and some chips and salsa struck my fancy. I remember that trip vividly. Because it has been repeated almost exactly twice more. The hostess seats me in the bar area and provides a menu. And then disappears. We didn’t see anyone for 20 whole minutes. Finally the bartender comes up with drinks, chips and salsa. Takes our drink and meal orders. Ten minutes later the food comes at the same time as the drinks. Both were not as good as I remember them being, but hey, we’ve been around and experienced find dining. My tastes have changed, I can accept that. The next time we see an employee is another ten minutes after we’ve finished our meal. Waiting for the check took another ten minutes. Getting the card run took another fifteen minutes. We seriously almost just walked out without paying because we felt the service was so bad. We leave feeling unsatisfied overall and vowing to not come back. 2013 rolls around and I decide«Well, maybe that was just a fluke» and pull into Azteca’s parking lot once again. Read above, substitute the word manager for bartender, and alter the times slightly. It was still nearly a two hour ordeal that left us feeling unsatisfied. Willing to give Azteca a last, final try, we try again in 2015. This time, the crafty reviewer decides to go during regular dinner hours and sit in the restaurant instead of the bar thinking there might be something wrong there. Unfortunately that was wishful thinking at best. Another 90 minutes of poor service in a ¼ full restaurant, with things like water glasses going dry, finally gives me the hint that perhaps it isn’t me, it’s the restaurant. So good luck Azteca. I’ll see you in 2017.

If I could give no stars, I would. We go out to eat quite a bit and very seldom have labeled something a «terrible experience» but this definitely was. The place was empty, yet the bartender didn’t seem to have time to serve us. We ordered the original margaritas on the rocks to start and he poured the entire drink from the bar gun, which was confusing. We almost spit our drinks out. They tasted like pure margarita mix. We then asked to order two shots of tequila, gently stating we needed them to add to our margaritas, he didn’t seem at all concerned. Mind you we are not young party animals trying to get wasted, we are just young professionals that want a decent tasting drink. We asked for Sauza, which is one of the tequilas he offered, he then disappeared for 10 minutes to come back and say he didn’t have it. We asked for the closest thing and said it was fine and immediately asked for our tab. We weren’t risking it with the food after an already horrible experience. When all was said and done, we were given El Jimador, which is cheaper than Sauza and were charged for Sauza. The experience was capped off by paying a tab that was $ 30 for two god awful margaritas and a server that cares none about even minimally decent service. Never going back.

Great mexican food!!! Very fast! Just got there and all the plates came in. The margaritas are reasonable. The original is big enough as regular! The nachos are well packed and the quesadillas are packed full of flavor

The customer service at Azteca was one of the best I’ve seen! I love the manager and all the servers are very friendly! I wasn’t extremely excited about a meal and the manager made sure the next time I came in it was on the house and made to perfection! Thank you for remembering me and making our visit personal and memorable. See you soon!

Do not get me wrong here, I do like their food. My biggest turn off is probably the price. I never understood why Mexican food were so expensive. $ 15 – 18 for a large plate sounds nice, but not when one third of it is Meat, rice, then beans… Rice and beans are so cheap. They even let you grab as much mashed beans to eat with the chips or tortilla. The pricing is just unreasonable.

I went to Azteca for my birthday. The waiter didn’t seem to understand what we were saying, and often ignored our requests. Therefore we had to pester him quite a bit. My family has gone to the other chains in Washington and have always had a good experience. However this site’s food is lacking in the quality we’ve grown to expect. Their salsa had no flavor and our food was sub par at best. The only good thing we had was the original margarita. However the waiter did not card me and I look much younger then 21. Which we found incredibly irresponsible. I don’t believe we will be returning to this site.

The atmosphere is very Aztec style decorative which was fun, I like themed places. The manager was also super nice and on top of things. But the service got my order wrong, and also seemed to ignore some of my later requests so I had to pester him a bit. I do not recommend the tacos as they did some sort of greasy pan fry to the tortillas, who knows why, and they were just meat in the cooked corn tortilla, nothing else but luckily the salsa bar was nearby and decent. The cheese quesadilla was somehow not so good and way too fully of green onion and tomatoes for my taste, seemed odd. Also when I asked for a side of cilantro(being the tacos had none) what came out was not very fresh at all, that wasn’t a good sign. Overall it just wasn’t that great especially when you have an amazing taco truck a few blocks away and another much better Mexican place on the same road a bit to the east.

I came here for taco Tuesday($ 3.99 must buy drink in the bar) with two classmates for a major disappointment in the food. The service was good, but the food was low grade next to school Sisco food. Horchatas did not come with free refills. The tacos did not have any taste, no sour cream, no onions, and the cheese tasted no bueno.
