I would give negative stars if possible. totally screwed us over. tint looks good but comes off super easy and I have chip marks in the first week. didn’t warn me that I would have to keep windows up in the middle of summer. I have no ac so that was inconvenient. a warning would have been nice. ruined my locks then argued about it and then toyed with it to fix it. then made my stereo short out. then told me they would pay for the locks to be fixed. fixed them. took them the bill and then had to wait over three months just to get my money back. it was like pulling teeth. not trustworthy. I would have been a return customer if they had kept their word. owner was extremely arrogant. all the time and money I spent trying to get what they said they would pay for was barely worth it. rude. unprofessional. negative to the fullest.

Lol service here was such a joke. Bought a groupon deal for window tint. Was for my old civic so didnt care to spend too much. Groupon deal wasnt much cheaper than alexa but savings is savings. Went there, dropped the car off. When received car was done, went to pick it up and had to wait another hour! Why tell me its done when its not? Time to pay, was charged an extra charge for each door!!! Was told it was to take off the door panels. Never been so heated at a service. There should not be any additional costs, if so, it should be listed mentioned prior. I would never go here again and have told many folks to avoid. Crooks

Got a groupon for window tinting. They did a great job on that. But my appointment was for 7:30 am and no one arrived to open the shop until 8:00 am. I added on a full interior/​exterior detail, overspray removal and paint chip repair. When they were done I couldn’t tell that they had done anything but clean my mats. My car was pretty clean to start with, so maybe they felt like they didn’t have to do anything. There was dust all over my dash, dirt and small rocks left in the cup holder, and kick/​scuff dirt marks on the back of the center console from my little passenger. There was some black sticky crap left on my front (white) bumper (that shouldn’t be there after a detail, right?). The part that upsets me the most, though, is the paint chip repair. They painted over paint chips with plain white paint (my car is pearl white). They did an incredibly crude job of filling in the chips, «coloring» outside the lines and not even bothering to try to get the paint level even. (Even though they needed my car overnight, and it was ready first thing in the morning?) But they gave me a small bottle of paint in case I want to mismatch future chips! Isn’t that special?

Eric and ACE have worked on five of our cars AND our boat. And not just one time. We’ve gone back to them for several of their services: interior detail, exterior detail, invisible bra, car repair (2 of our cars) and window tinting. Their work has been beyond flawless. We started as a groupon customer as many others have noted. We’ve taken our vehicles to both their Aloha and Beaverton locations. We are very picky customers.
Are they perfect? No. If they make a mistake do they make it right? Absolutely! We started going there in 2009 and I’m heading there today to take a fender bender to them. Why? BECAUSE I TRUST THEM to do it right and for less than I’ll pay elsewhere.
We’ve been SO satisfied with Eric and his staff that I can’t understand all the negative reviews.

AMAZING JOB! I got the interior detailing of my older, and definitely worn car done… I came in they told me exactly what was fixable, and what might not be. They said my car would look 80−90% better (for the stains all on seats and floor) and it was definitely 90% better! My car was completely clean, smelling good, and almost stains were gone! (If not gone, at least minimized) 100% worth the money, would definitely return!

I received a groupon for my birthday for an interior detail, exterior hand wash and headlight restoration. I was so very excited! Now, I have a small, two-​seat convertible. Not a lot of interior space, but I like my car to look nice.
When I called to schedule the appointment, immediately I was told that I had to schedule online for tinting services. I said, «I’m not calling to schedule for tinting, I’m calling for a detail». The person was not friendly, but I got it scheduled and couldn’t wait to take it in.
I took it in on a Saturday morning and was so excited when they said it was ready to pick up. He asked when I would be there, and I said «within the hour.» I arrived about 50 minutes later and no one was there. The open sign was turned off. My car was unlocked, rags were still in the car and my floor mats were no where to be seen. The outside looked like it had a cursory wash. The inside looked good (except for the rags), but they didn’t clean behind the seats (in the space where the top folds down).
As I was getting ready to start calling their phone number, the two people drove up. I guess they went to lunch. The guy basically told me that I could only use a groupon once with them and that they only get half the money from it. My thought was, so you did a half assed job because you don’t get paid as much? I told him that I love using groupon to find out the kind of work that a company does before using them for other work. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. Bad customer service on the front end, bad customer service on the back end, and I’m sorry Mr. Business Owner if you aren’t happy with the groupon deal… don’t freakin use them if you don’t like the deal they offer you!

Don’t waste your time or money! I have been wanting to tint my windows for sometime now, but before taking my car to the first shop I find, I shopped around to find the best deal. I kept getting estimates of 150 – 220, but when I found a GROUPON by Ace for window tinting for only $ 135. I bought the deal and at first it seemed that this was an incredible deal, but I was quickly mistaken. I called the shop to make my appointment to get my windows tinted and they told my that appointments have to be online. I went to their website and discovered that the wait time was two months! Regardless I remained calm because I still considered the Groupon a good deal.
After waiting 2 months my appointment had finally arrived. I head to the shop and they immediately start offering me tint that is illegal in the state of Oregon. The service guy later told me that there would be an additional charge for my car. I was very annoyed because I wasn’t expecting to pay anything else, but I agreed because I had waited so long that I just wanted to get it done already. When I finally went to pick up the car, I went in to pay and I was astonished by how much they were charging me. They claimed that the regular cost to tint a cars windows was $ 299.99! After giving him the Groupon code, the service guy said I still needed to pay him an additional $ 70!
My experience at this run down place was terrible and I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. Just go somewhere else, it’s way quicker and cheaper then this dump.

I am extremely happy with the results of my car. They took great care of it and even told me little details that I could do to make it look even better. They took most part of the day for the same reason that they do a really good job and really take their time to make sure that there are no bubbles and defects on the window tint. They go a step further to protect your tint and even give you a warranty so that if something does happen your car is covered. Overall I am amazed with the results of my mustang and I will defiantly come back and tell everybody about Ace Car Reconditioning.

Like a lot of other people, we bought a Groupon deal for window tinting for $ 135. Seemed like a good deal, until you get there and are told about tons of extra charges, like $ 10 per triangle side window, $ 5 per door panel, and $ 10 for extra cleaning per window. None of this was mentioned in the Groupon. In fact, in the deal’s Q&A, it says the $ 135 is totally inclusive. We asked about this and were told that the guy who wrote that has been fired. Uh… ok.
We dropped the car off, read some more reviews, realized what a scam /​bait and switch this place is and immediately called to cancel the service.
The guy at the desk didn’t care at all that we were canceling or mad about extra charges/​bait and switch tactics. When I mentioned that there are many similarly bad experiences on Unilocal,he said «that’s fine, you can fight Groupon for your money.»
Hope this place goes under soon so no one else gets suckered.

Wow, now I see why I should have checked Unilocal.These unprofessional providers of poor service made me move my appointment to beaverton telling me they’d provide me with a loaner. When I got there they tried to charge me $ 5 for a heap with a popped airbag. No thanks to these guys.

To follow up to my previous one star review, I filed a complaint with the BBB, and to no surprise whatsoever, Ace Car Reconditioning has ignored their attempts at trying to reach them to resolve the damage they did to my car.

I was one of the living social coupon holders. Upon reading reviews on Unilocal,I was extremely wary of taking our car here, and I should have listened to my gut. We went through the night before and removed all valuables and dropped the car off early in the morning.
Upon opening the car, the seats that were in need of a deep cleaning did look better, as did the carpets. As we got into the car, that’s when we noticed the damage. Our AC vent can no longer direct air flow. My husband thinks he can take it back out and repair it. Hopefully he can. We also found an ice scraper in the back that did not belong to us. And the most distressing for me, was the damage to the marquee in the center of the steering wheel. The blue that surrounds the iconic Subaru stars has been scrubbed to the point where the metal is exposed. I have no way of knowing if this was due to inappropriate cleansers, or cleaning technique but it looks trashy, and beat up. Its a silly thing to be upset over, but when I take my vehicle to a BODY SHOP for a detailed cleaning, the details is what I expect to be taken care of. This felt like an easily avoidable mistake that as a professional shop, they should have known better. I can’t imagine that someone would take their luxury car in, only to drive away with damage to the details.

STOLE MONEY FROM MY CAR AND CAUSED MULTIPLE DAMAGES REQUIRING REPAIR! Wish there were an option for NO stars!
From start to finish this was the worse and most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a car detailing service and I get my car done every year. When I dropped the car off I was told that they were open until 6pm. They called mid-​afternoon and told me that my car would be ready by 4:30. I said I would be there before they closed at 6pm. Then they told me they closed at 5:30 so I had to get there before then. I got back to the shop at 5:20 and my car wasn’t ready (WTH? What if I had come at 4:30 when they said it would be ready?!). I only had to wait 10 – 15 min, but still…
Eyeballed the interior and it looked good. Got in and drove away and immediately there was a clicking. The same clicking if you turn on a turn signal or hazards only no buttons or signals were on. Sometimes slow, sometimes fast, sometimes a combination, but the clicking doesn’t stop. I don’t know what they did to do this but it won’t stop after days and now I have to take it in for repair.
Next I opened the glove box to get phone cord and everything was missing. So I opened the ash tray and all my quarters were gone. The car has a large ashtray and was FULL with quarters so it was likely $ 40 or more in quarters. I turned around and luckily they were still there. I asked where all the stuff from my car was and they told me in a bag in the back of the car. I felt stupid when I saw the bag so I drove home with the clicking.
When I got home I put everything from the bag back in to the glove box but the quarters were missing. In all the years I have had my car detailed I have never had someone steal my money. I’m pissed that I gave the guy a huge tip (30% of paid price through yahoo local deal) since now they got at least $ 40 more BY STEALING.
Then I go to put stuff back in the center armrest console that I left at home and THAT IS BROKEN TOO. It is loose and moves around and completely broken. Yep, another thing to fix. Meanwhile the clicking never stops.
A couple days later I go to put the car seats back in the car and the seat belts aren’t on the seats. Peeved because I have to move the seats and get the belts out. Get one side done and when I go to the other side I see why they hid the belts: the other one is broken. Totally effing BROKEN and there is no way for me to fix much less use the seat belt. ANOTHER thing that I have to take in for repair.
That put me over the edge so I called the shop. Received a call back from Eric who said he didn’t understand what I was claiming because there was no way they could have damaged my car. He had no excuse for the missing money. We set an appointment the following week at 2pm. I ask if 15 – 20 min will be enough time for him to show him the damages and get my money back because I will have to leave at 2:20, he says yes.
The morning of the appointment Eric calls and tells me he can’t remember when the appointment is. I tell him it is at 2pm and he asks if we can push it back to 3pm. I say no, the appointment is at 2pm and I can’t make it any later. When I arrive for the 2pm appointment Eric isn’t there. An employee calls the Tigard store and tells me that Eric just left the Tigard store and is on his way. I wait for Eric for TWENTY MINUTES and finally at 2:20 he calls and tells me he will be there in five minutes. I remind him our appointment was at 2pm and that I can’t stay and he tells me he is on his way from Portland and got stuck in traffic (he LIES to me — the shop told me that he left the Tigard store to meet me, remember?). I’m pissed.
Whenever I try calling back to reschedule appointment my call is sent to voicemail which is full and won’t accept any messages. So I’m stuck with three things in my car that are broken that I now have to pay to get fixed and missing at least $ 40 that was stolen from my car. I am deciding whether or not it will be worth it to pursue in small claims court.

The tinting job was done well. But I will never come here again. Had to book an appt for three weeks out, and then it took 7 hours to get my windows tinted? Used a Groupon, then they charged me $ 60 on top of that. Luckily I was in a good mood, but this is rediculous. Absolutely rediculous. I wish I would have read the Unilocal reviews and avoided this place altogether.

groupon for exterior detailing, $ 99. Extra $ 25 for black/​dark paint not specified. The work done was sub-par…should have just waxed it ourselves. Easily could have used back-​to-​black for bumper. Streaks left on all sides of car. Waste of $

Came here with a Groupon deal and was very disappointed. I bought the coupon for the interior/​exterior detail, but mainly to get the seats shampooed. When I got the car back, stains were still there, the windshield had streaks all over it, and they charged me extra for dog hair, yet failed to do a decent vacuum job.
The crew here is unorganized and not professional. When I came back to pick up the car, there was several people waiting and the guy kept running in and out of the office. He never acknowledged me, no «I’ll be right with you.» After 15 minutes, it was my turn. I paid my extra fees and waited for the keys. He returned with the keys but no car. They parked my car somewhere else around the block since the parking lot is tiny. He told me where the car was located, then he asked me if I’d like him to get it. Thanks for the awesome service, guy.
I like to give other local businesses a try, but after this experience, I am hesitant. I’ve been to Washman for an interior/​exterior detail and they did an awesome job especially with shampooing the seats.

Brought my brand new honda in the o get windows tinted, did a good job on the windows, to bad they broke some of the door panels and now will not return any calls. I will be calling BBB for sure.

This is for the beaverton location: Picked up a Groupon deal they offered for tinting 4 windows for $ 135.00. It was a good deal, except they didn’t really help the customer in deciding which tint to go with. (I’m not an expert at window tinting). I wasn’t offered to look at the selection of tints until I asked to see them, and then I went with a tint that I thought would be dark, but it really wasn’t. It wouldve been nice if they had samples on glass windows so you can see what to expect. Overall, they did a great job on the tint job, but I wasn’t too impressed with their customer service. I only recommend this place if the tint job is under $ 150.00, like a Groupon deal or something.
UPDATE: I went back to complain about the bumps they left in the tint job, and they didn’t even return my call to arrange fixing it. I will now file a complain with my credit card issuer.

I am getting ready to sell my car and Ace did a great job. They were flexible in helping me get an appointment. They were there early so I could get to work on time. They stayed late so I could get there after work. They even gave me a ride to the Max station. Service was excellent.
They got every spill out of my seats and all the pet hair! It looks brand new! I used a Living Social deal for the inside reconditioning so the price was right. Compared to other detailers they were more reasonable… not too expensive and not so cheap that you are worried. Great service and great job! I would recommend them,

I’ve taken a few cars here over the years. Both my BMW and my wife’s Acura have spent the day getting detailed at Ace. Most recently, yesterday, I took my car back in for a repeat appointment for the exterior and an engine detail. I dropped it off at 0: dark30 on Monday morning for the service. I met Eric, the new owner out front and inquired about Robert, the original owner/​operator. Guess it had been a while since I’ve been to Ace, since Eric told me that he bought the company from Robert a few years back. No biggie. Later that day I received a call indicating that my car was complete and I could pick it up.
The exterior of the car looks amazing. Any swirls I may have had were completely eliminated by the polish and wax. Speaking of the wax, it’s buttery smooth. The paint on my rig hasn’t looked this good in years. The job on the engine was «not bad». For $ 25, I’m entirely satisfied. I am going to go through it with a fine-​toothed comb in the near future and get the minor stuff they missed.
Paying for the service was seemingly difficult. They asked me what I was quoted, and thanks to Brent S.‘s advice below, I said that I was quoted the minimum price for an exterior and engine detail. Fortunately, I paid even less than that — $ 125 for the exterior ($ 129 on the website) and $ 25 for the engine ($ 30 on web). So that’s cool. The difficulty was with the process. It seemingly took forever for the guy helping me to craft an invoice, log in to whatever payment system they use, call Eric to find out what their password was… etc. They could stand to (seriously) streamline this process. So, great, payment gets completed and… they can’t find my keys. I’m fairly speechless about this. Dude helping me is walking in and out of the shop, looking in my car, walking back into the office and finally gets on the phone. He corrals the guy that actually performed the detail back to the shop (he was just around the corner) and he managed to find them. Phew, nearly had to press the panic button there.
I’m pleased with the exterior detail. The engine is fine. For me, the fact that Robert is no longer associated with the business combined with the payment weirdness and the brief misplacement of my keys results in… «A-​OK».
