Beavercreek Community Library

A great library with helpful staff.

Yesterday was my first time at this library. My only complaint? The layout is a little strange. The children’s section is split… part is in the front on the left, and the second half is near the adult section. But… the librarians are more than happy to help you.
Overall I had a good experience.

I only visited this branch once and it was once to many. Every week I take the 5 year old I watch to a different library branch. I allow him to explore the children’s section while I borrows the adult section. I was sitting across from the door so I could make sure that no one walked out the door with «my kid». Two minuets of being there, the kid comes up to me and tells me he is not allowed to play on the computers that have a sign that says «5yrs and up can play without supervision». I couldn’t see the problem since he was FIVE… The lady in the children’s section then gave me a lecture on how they aren’t they to watch the kids… DUH… I got the impression that she wouldn’t even look up if a kid was screaming that they don’t know someone who is dragging them out the door. The staff was rude in general, and the kid never wanted to go back. Can you blame him?
A few months later I had placed on hold DVDs that this library had in-​stock and they would not pull them and send them to my library branch. I had to ask one of the librarians at my branch what was the problem and they had to call them to pull the DVDs and send the DVDs to them.
I hope whoever is in charge of the Greene County Libraries reads the reviews and corrects these problems.

I absolutely love this library. The staff is extremely helpful. Great selection of books and movies. Nice quiet seating areas for studying or reading.

Maybe it’s because I grew up in a poor town with a tiny library but this one is amazing! Great selection of books along with audiobooks (which I love), movies, and CD’s! They even have self checkout! I’ve never been to a library that I actually enjoyed until this one! The kid section is huge as well so that’s a big plus for parents!

This library has done a good job of keeping up with trends over the years. For example I remember when they started transitioning from VHS to DVDs; now the DVD selection is quite extensive. Now they are really expanding their selection of e-​books. If you can’t find what you need at this particular location, it’s so easy to request something from another Greene County library to be sent here for pickup.
