You’d barely notice it on the corner, but once you step inside its likely you’ll be returning soon. There may be 10, or 100 people in there depending on what day you go, but you’ll always find someone who’s willing to chat & make a new friend. Daytime is often a mix of regulars, randoms, & some older crowd, & home cooked complimentary food served daily in the kitchen. The nighttime crowd is a younger, livelier bunch & always an entertaining scene. Always have the sports games on, & all the bartenders are incredible. Shuffleboard, jukebox & bar top game machine offers options to spice up your visit, along with a card & game table, & live music on weekends… DJ, acoustic, full band, song swap… no matter who it is you’ll most likely be impressed. You’ll often see groups playing catch phrase, or heads up, so feel free to bring your own games or cards in. Sunday evenings you can stop in, watch a movie, play some video games, have a «church burner», & kick back before you have to return to reality on Mon. Great place for groups, or to stop in solo & grab a drink & meet some new people. Friendly people, free food, laid back dive bar feel. what more could you ask for?

I’ve been here twice now and each time I’ve been glad I went. The inside area is not the biggest and can get crowded easily. With that said, it’s never been too crowded for my tastes. Both times we were easily able to find a table to sit down and relax. They do have shuffleboard(best bar game around) and a decent selection of the standard and craft beer. If you’re looking for a dive bar without the grunge, look no further. Thirsty’s is your place.

Thirsty’s is the most awesome place to party. I love playing acoustic shows there, always a great time. I look up and I see friends, I listen and I hear great music. A+

Thirsty’s is a little odd, but I also don’t hate it. It’s in a strip center off Phelan and Dowlen, and the area isn’t exactly a hub of activity, but it’s not out of the way, either. It was easy for our group to pop over for a drink after our painting class finished at the nearby Painting with a Twist. I ordered an amaretto sour and the drink I got was all sour, no liquor. When I returned it to the bartender and asked for more amaretto, she looked at the color of the drink and apologized and added a good amount of Disarono amaretto. The service was fast and friendly in all encounters I had with the staff. Not that an amaretto sour requires any special mixing, but once the liquor level was right, this was probably the best drink I’ve had in a Beaumont bar. Or maybe I was just thirsty.(Har har) There was a live band on Saturday night, though they weren’t particularly in tune. We spent most of our time on the back«patio,» which is actually some tables underneath a metal carport in the alley/loading zone behind the strip center. There is a large shuffleboard table that intrigues me, and I appreciate that the lights are kept dim.

This is the kinda place my middle-aged and up redneck relatives hang out all day and all night. I’d heard lotttts of stories. That said, I was surprised to see a somewhat younger crowd here around 10:30 on a Saturday night. My well cocktail was $ 4.50, which I think is probably standard for Southeast Texas these days, but cheaper than I’m used to now in the DC area. The outdoor area is really pathetic– two small tables and about 15 people worth of standing room if they’re really good friends. It was also extremely dark and just dingy feeling– and literally under one of those metal carport covers. That’s really where Thirsty’s lost me. After one drink and one shot(though in comparison to the mixed drink, this was expensive at $ 5,) we settled up our tabs for higher ground.

Thirsty’s is a great, chill place where you don’t have to sacrifice good beer or great crafted cocktails for a more casual environment. Also good to be anonymous as other bar-goers are friendly, but not overly chatty. It’s very cozy, especially on nights with live music, but there is never a cover to enter.

If you’re looking to lay low & in the West End, then this is the place to be at. Super chill atmosphere with a surprisingly large alcohol selection compared with other small establishments. There is shuffle board inside and a small patio for smokers on the outside. Hardly ever a cover(I’ve personally never encountered one) & the bartenders are very attentive. On some nights there will be live entertainment/musicians. In fact, this is the only place in the West End that occasionally hosts DJ’s who play vinyl/mix live & actually play a groovy selection of tunes.

I agree with Henry’s review. This is a small bar and there isn’t a wait to get a beer. Ladies… it’s a meat market sometimes as there is an over abundance of men and a lack of groups of women. At least, that was my experience. For a smaller bar they have one hell of an alcohol selection. The bartenders were attentive and friendly.

This used to be my favorite place to pickle my liver and hang with friends. They have a hell of a NYE party usually! There is complimentary food most every night if you get there«early-ish»

I’ve been to almost every bar in Beaumont and Thirsty’s is the go to bar if you want a chill evening where there is no wait to get a drink. Every once in a while you hit it right and there is some live music as well. They have a new jukebox and a good shuffleboard table as well.

Place is OK I’ve been here about 3 times… not a really big place i mean with about 20 people i think it will be at capacity… the times I’ve been here there’s really not alot of people around and well real easy to get a drink when its not crowded! There’s shuffleboard which is a plus and a little patio in the back of the place which is good for the smokers…

Older crowd unless you go after about 10:30pm. And by older, I mean your grandparents, older. Friday nights are hectic because there is a «band» there and the oldies stay pretty late. Drinks are cheap, stout. Not much of a beer selection, but overall pretty freaking awesome. One of the few places in Beaumont with Shuffleboard, and a place where you can actually have conversation without yelling(most of the time). Nice, but expensive jukebox. People(like myself) like to play really hilarious things from high school(I’m 27) so be prepared. They have an outside patio that looks like a carport, but has a heater out there for when it is actually cold. Overall, total dive bar, but hands down my favorite place in Beaumont.
