La Salsitas

I effing love this place! Bring your own sanitizer if you’re worried about germs. Pee before you get there if you’re going at night… Otherwise, they are the only hope for America’s saddest city :)

I used to despise this place because they took away my beloved Danny’s Taqueria, which had the some of the best ceviche in the area. I gave it a couple of chances, but they were always out of whatever I wanted so I said I was done.
Then I got desperate a few weeks ago when I was in search of a taco truck after leaving work famished at 1am and Tacos El Primo wasn’t at their 11^th and Washington location. Come to find out, La Salsitas I guess sort of merged with Tacos El Primo. So I gave it a try since my options are rather limited that late on a Saturday night. Glad I did. Well, mostly. I asked for avocado on my tacos al pastor; pork and avocado was all I got on them. Ok, NBD, I know now to ask for each specific item I would like on my tacos, but it was rather disappointing at the time because I really wanted some cilantro and onions with a squeeze of lime. Lesson learned. Thankfully the green sauce saved me from a bland dinner that night.
But that drive-​thru speaker though! Please, for the love of all that is holy, please change that stupid, tinny, worse-​than-​nails-​on-​a-​chalkboard speaker box! That thing is easily as old as I am. It’s always the worst part of my experience there, but I do have sensory issues so maybe it’s just me. Or maybe it’s just awful. I always go late so I prefer not to get out of my car alone, so drive-​thru it is. If they would just fix that monstrosity, I’d give La Salsitas a full 5 stars, because I really do love the food and prices.

Skip the tacos, trust me. Get the burritos. The flour tortillas on the tacos are the american style u can get from the store. On the other hand burrito has more filling, and also has the authentic soft flour tortilla. I haven’t tried the corn tortilla tacos but they look a small. Also the steak, pastor, barbacoa is all winners. I love the burritos its way more fulfilling than the small tacos.

Great food! Hot, fresh and big portions! They accommodated my request! Good location close to hospitals and freeway with drive thru.

Formerly Danny’s Taqueria. This place is outstanding. Great authentic food, great service, great prices. And with a drive thru that is open 24 hourS a day, I can’t find a reason not to like this place. I absolutely love their steak burritos; really hit the spot when I work late and have to pick up something quick and easy.
