Why stay in a chain on the highway when you can stay by the waterfront in a preserved home? Chaming, clean and comfortable. Friendly & helpful staff, fire pit, courtyards, porch.

The grounds were really beautiful. We were disappointed the restaurant wasn’t open for dinner when we were there because we weren’t overly impressed with the town fare. The room was nice but the TV didn’t have enough sound,. too quiet to hear and breakfast was only okay. Dog policy seemed a little pricey for what the room was(we like hotel chains like Sheraton and Westin that don’t charge any fee) and would probably make us consider other places for that reason.

We spent one night here and really didn’t want to check out. This B&B is loaded with Southern charm and we will definitely return some day.

This is a gorgeous hotel with the feel of a plantation. Our room #9, however had issues. There were three bulbs that were out, making it very dark in the room. Using the tv required a networking expert to figure out how to change the Input of the tv to the cable box without using a remote in a dark room. The main problem is the queen mattress. Somewhat hard, it sagged in the middle so we kept rolling towards each other. The AC vent in our room was aimed squarely at the pillows on the bed, so you got a blast of cold air in your face when it decided to come on. It was also somehat noisy, cycling on and off. The bathroom sink was extremely slow draining. There was only one place to put our luggage, no stand, always annoying. Water usage in the adjoining rooms was quite loud and woke us up early. We parked in the registration lot and used the luggage carts available there. We had to lift a full cart up a 5 in. slab into the kitchen receiving dock area, which was unbelievably filthy, then steer the cart up a ramp to our room. If you are going to have guests use that path, please rent a pressure washer and do an occasional deep clean. There was crap laying around everywhere. It doesn’t present a good first image. Breakfast was very delicious with a helpful staff. A private lot across the street was large and convenient. We hit the Old Bull Tavern around the corner for an outstanding meal.

Being from New York where hotels are so worried about being«chic, modern and cool» this was a nice refreshing break from dark rooms with random squares and balls. Great place for couples, the staff is über friendly and I love the southern comfort décor and feel. It was absolutely adorable. Beaufort Inn is relaxing, peaceful and clean. This is not a party town and everything shuts down at 10 which is fine because that equals peaceful sleep, which we had. The rooms are like mini apartments with soak-in tubs and showers. The little soaps and lotions they have smell great. I would come here again and again and again. Shops are in walking distance and they’re not your typical«made in China» souvenirs. We picked up some lovely olive oil and balsamic vinegar from Olive the Above. The gift shops had uniques perfumes, jewelry and clothing. I have not one single complaint. The concierge isn’t 24 hours but if you’re an adult with access to the internet you will be just fine.

To start with I will go over what kept it from being a 5 star inn. My bf called to book the rooms. We paid to have an upgraded room in the garden cottage, my bf did it so I can have the pleasure of soaking in a claw foot tub and relax for a few days. While on the phone my bf asked if it was possible to have a top floor room since it bothers us to sleep under other rooms. On the phone they said it will not be a problem and so we booked the room. The girl on the phone also said she would email recommendations on where to go and what to eat since we have not visited before. We never received that email and tried contacting them twice as the reservation got closer and never got a response. And when we showed up for our reservation the room was in the right place but it was on the first floor. We explained the problem since we booked for a second floor. They were super apologetic and even offered a suite that didn’t have a room above but the suite did not have a claw foot tub. We decided to stay in the original room just on the lower floor but it was a stressful start to the vacation. Those were the only 2 problems we had at all with the place, everything else was great. The bathroom was great, huge, almost the size of the bedroom. It had an amazing claw foot tub and a great waterfall shower head. I wanted to spend the whole vacation in the bathroom. The room was nice but a little stuffy since we really couldn’t keep the windows open since we were on the first floor. The cottage was behind the main inn so it was nice and quiet and had a beautiful courtyard. They also offered breakfast but we never woke up in time to make it. I was happy and surprised that when I checked in on Unilocal there was a 20% off discount for one night off when checking in. It was a little surprising that the manager did not even know this was going on but she was very nice about honoring it without many questions. If I come to visit beaufort again I would love to come stay here, I think I would just be a lot more proactive in calling ahead and making sure things were in the right order.

Let me start with some positives. Leslie was outstanding ! We enjoyed the service at our meals & the food(except omelette) was very good. However, if we’re going to pay premium prices. Endure small rooms with old tv’s and no bath tub. There is an expectation level that needs to be met. Unfortunately, a delightful stay was ruined by the following. DON’T STAYINBOTTOMFLOORROOMATCARRIAGEHOUSE! The blinds on the glass door are not the right size. The court yard white lights stay on all night. Called to complain, got answering service & lights were still on when we left at 9am. Completely exhausted we canceled our drive to Hilton Head & came directly home to Florida. Our complaint was never acknowledged in anyway, I would not recommend the Beaufort Inn.

Stayed at the Beaufort Inn when I went down to SC for my brother’s graduation from Marine Corps boot camp on Parris Island. The Inn was fantastic! The front desk staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful. I left the banner that I made for my brother on the airplane by accident and the front desk staff went way out of their way to get me all the art supplies I would need to make a new one. My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and they even put out iced tea and scones every day at 5pm — both the tea and scones were fantastic! The only down side is that the wifi(which is free) is not super fast and knocked me off a few times. If I ever head back down to SC I will absolutely stay at the Beaufort Inn. Another plus: the restaurant in the Inn was DELICIOUS!

What a beautiful place! The staff treated us like rock stars and the room was unbelievable! I will make this my stay every time I visit. There aren’t enough wonderful things I can say.

The rooms we stayed in were clean and comfortable. The wait staff were courteous. I’ve stayed at B&Bs before and always been warmly welcomed. The hospitality from the owners could use a little boost. Breakfast was very nice. It’s an ok place but would probably prefer a smaller, more personal experience otherwise may as well stay at a hotel.

On a shoot here… stayed in the«loft» — a huge apartment-like hotel room on the main drag of Bay Street. Big flat screen TV, full kitchen and dining room — perfect to have the whole crew over for pre-dinner drinks. Three separate bedrooms, one with a king size four poster bed, private bathroom, large shower. All very neat, clean and comfortable. Nice staff, good coffee and fresh fruit for breakfast.
