Saw the 5 stars on Unilocal and had to stop in after Marine grad ceremony. Great home cooking, ribs were moist and fell off the bones, real nice rub with a authentic SC mustard style sauce. Spoke with the owner and uses multiple generation family recipes. The apple dump cake for dessert was phenomenal, it also included some pineapple which gave it a sweetness and great textures. Will definitely be back!

Eating here is like having your Mom is cooking your favorite foods. The same goes for the atmosphere and hospitality. It’s like sitting down for a meal at home. Everything was absolutely delicious. This is a must go to restaurant when your in Beaufort.

Awesome place! As out of town-er’s, we always try to seek out the authentic places and the food here was just that. Tucked away location, clearly a locals favorite, with great BBQ chicken, pulled pork, hush puppies, fried chicken livers, Mac n cheese. Super family owned place couldn’t have been any friendlier! Now I have to workout:)

A quaint little gem. Our new Marine wanted bbq after his graduation so we found Duke’s via Unilocal. With excellent reviews we found the restaurant packed with locals(always a good sign). We couldn’t decide on entrees so all of us picked the buffet. The owner came over and chatted with us, twice. All the food is southern home cooking. Recipes are from family and made fresh. I don’t usually eat fried foods, but after hearing their history, I caved and enjoyed the delicious fried okra. Hush puppies– yes(I went back for seconds)! The BBQ was fabulous as well! I didn’t try the fried chicken(or the liver or gizzards) but others in our party did — and loved it all. I couldn’t fit dessert, but I understand the peach cobbler was very tasty. Highly recommended! Friendly and welcoming — a must stop for excellent no-fuss food and atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed.

The Buffett is amazing. The price, selection of food, and taste can’t be beat. We have tried several restaurants in Beaufort and Duke’s is hands down the best!

Excellent! Stopped in after the USMC Graduation. We called ahead for a table of ten. Great southern style home cooking. Great southern hospitality too, our Marine’s meal was complementary.

Followed the good ratings of others and we were glad we did. Reasonable prices, super friendly staff and the food is exactly what I think of as «Southern comfort food» Fried Chicken and okra was the best. The staff went out of their way to help these wayfaring Yankees to try some things we weren’t familiar with. They also noticed my son’s shirt that said his sister just graduated from Parris Island Marine Corps. She thanked us for her service and told us that if we came back tomorrow she would eat for free. 5 stars for sure. Thanks Dukes!

Good place to go if you want to eat a LOT of food. My husband really enjoys their chicken livers/gizzards. I’m more of a vegetable lover so I mainly go for the steamed cabbage, fried okra, rice/gravy. I also live the«heavenly hash» and banana pudding. I wish they had homemade biscuits, chicken & dumplings, fresh southern peas and salad. The barbecue is very tasty.

Oh Duke’s, I miss you. I still have dreams about your Georgia hash. I was stationed there until 1989, and your bbq is the only reason I would return. Please open a location in San Francisco, CA.

Duke’s is about as traditional BBQ as it gets! I didn’t try everything they had, but what I did have was fantastic. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, hush puppies, collard greens, and banana pudding. But my hands down favorite were the corn fritters. They were amazing! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. If only they were open more often!

That food was amazing! Lived here for over a year and first time here everything was delicious. The smoked chicken was the best!
