Mt. Beacon Bed and Breakfast

Our weekend getaway to Beacon was made even better with our stay at Mt. Beacon Bed & Breakfast. Mother-​daughter duo, Barbara and Lauren Walling have beautifully appointed rooms with great details. Their morning fair served at 9:00AM, all lovingly prepared, was a treat for me, enjoying berry-​topped waffles one morning and egg soufflé with steamed asparagus the next. Looking forward to visiting again!

Enjoyed a lovely stay here, owners were beyond kind and accommodating, fresh hot full breakfast in the morning when places usually do a fruit and-​ten-​kinds-​of-​bread Continental Breakfast (special diets accommodated as well.) Clean, beautifully-​furnished, bed very comfortable. They have a pool and a very charming, relaxing patio of which I made maximum use. Only caveat I offer — I had a little trouble stepping in and out of the old-​fashioned tub, high walls and nothing to grab onto, wouldn’t stop me from staying here again, but if you have trouble with that kind of thing, now you know. And when they warn you about the water being hot, believe them. It is – adjust the temp before you step in!

The trail up is kinda tough because there is a lot of uphill hiking. There’s no climbing involved but because of the hills, it’s very tiring. The hike up is worth it though. The views from above is gorgeous. On one side, you can see a city view with bridges and on the other side, you get a more peaceful nature view with the mountain.
The hike is free of charge, which is a plus.

We stayed at Mt. Beacon for our anniversary, and we really couldn’t have found a nicer place in Beacon! The house is gorgeous, beautifully appointed without looking too antique-​y. The hosts were so nice and accommodating, offering great suggestions for dinner when we arrived late. Plus, the breakfasts included were really impressive, an egg soufflé one morning and apple french toast the next. The location was very central as well for everything we wanted to do in town. I would certainly stay there again!
