What a horrible experience. Stopped in last Saturday Night after visiting friends in Pine Beach. It was recommended to us by them, but they said they have never bin. With the restaurant completely empty except for a handful of people at the bar, we were completely ignored by the waitress who didnt even acknowledge we were their after standing around for close to ten minutes, This prompted us to sit at the bar which was swarming with some kind of flys or nats. The bartender was extremely helpful and had nothing but apathy for us. We ordered a pizza with extra cheese and after several times of the bartender checking on the order and 40 minutes later The pizza still wasn’t even prepared or even in the oven. They eventually sent out a warmed up pie that looked liked it was sitting around all day. The bartender explained this to the manager who looked very annoyed and never came up to apologized or rectify the experience. They only took the pizza off the bill and never approached us. The bartender recommended another place with good food and enjoyed our time their. Not a place I would come back to or recommend to friends

I can’t believe the health department hadn’t shut this place down Its simply not clean. Floors, silverware, bathrooms, even my glass had something on it. Yuck!

My family has been going here for a few years, my son enjoys the trains. Had bad experience last two times we were there. Only one waitress on the floor with 5+ tables. She seemed to serve everyone around us, who sat down way after us, first. The food was just horrible and she was rude. Didn’t give us appetizer till our regular food came. We had to get up and get crayons and paper for our son but people around us who had kids she gave them too. It was just disappointing…

Have to agree with so many of the reviews. I have attempted going here several times and each time i go i wonder why i tried it again. I was seated by the kitchen door and the kitchen was in plain sight. I will never go back! It was disgusting. I did not want to eat my food once i saw that. The server was absolutely fine but unfortunately an employee can not fix the problems of this place. Still not sure if they want it to be a family restaurant or bar.

Hi all, We went to this restaurant this summer for the first time. I heard a lot of bad things about this place but my friend wanted to try as we we all have little kids & this place have an arcade. First the beer was absolutely flat, I requested another pint and the said the are out of all the draught beer, only bottles were available. Then come my fish and it would shock you it was ROTTEN. Yes it had a strong FOULDECAYING smell and was SLIMEY. When I asked the waitress to smell it who by the way was still at the table serving food said she can’t smell she has allergies. That was it I did not eat any thing else my kids ordered ribs which were horrible, dry and cold. The food my friends orders were pathetic too. My friends apologized for picking this place but none of the staff said any thing not even any recognition of the situation and bad food. Well it was very bad experience and we will not come to this restaurant ever again. I live near by and there are other restaurants some might not have the best food but they do not serve rotten food.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Had a good feeling when coming in, but was quickly turned off when the door to the kitchen opened on our way to to our table and i saw how the kitchen looked. My kids were very disappointed when all but one train was working. The biggest reason to come here is the trains, and i now had three kids all bummed out because they weren’t working. Its billed as a family place, but i think the bar with the guys watching football were a little loud. Food took about 20 minutes to come out. It was average. I would say its just like what you would get in any local diner. Kids meals came with feee ice cream bar. Worst part — the bill was $ 55.84. $ 3.00 for eah drink! Kids meals are $ 7.00 plus PLUS cost of kids drinks! Way too much for this place. Deal beaker was the monster roach we saw in the bathroom on the way out. I really hate leaving a negative review because everyone was so friendly and the train displays are cool, but they really need to give this place a good cleaning, a little updating, charge prices more appropriate for a place of this quality, make sure the forks and knives are clean, and for goodness sakes — get the trains working!!!

It’s been about 15 years since I last ate at CB Huntingtons(I was just a kid), and wow NOTHING has changed. The train setup is still the same, only difference is only one train engine was moving on each side(Just the train engine, no train cars lol). The place could use an update for sure. I ordered the«homemade meatloaf» which was a huge mistake. I swear it tasted and looked JUST like an instant Banquet box dinner. I took one bite and was done. I took a picture of it, but I can’t seem to upload it here… If you go to Black Beards, make sure you eat at home or somewhere else before you go. You’ll thank me later.

I couldn’t believe all the great reviews after eating here. The whole look of the place was lacking and was in serious need of a makeover. The only interesting thing about the décor was the toys trains that run by the side of your table. That entertained my kids at least. Our waitress was very nice but that’s about as good as it got. My 5 year old got a kids hamburger which I order medium well and it came out still raw inside. My husband’s flat iron steak was dry and way over cooked and the mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a box. My poblano chicken tamales were ok but you could tell they aren’t homemade but frozen and probably cooked in the microwave before coming out to your table. For the quality of food that we received I would say that our bill was expensive: $ 60 including tip for 2 kids meals and 2 entrees seemed a little much to me. I can safely say that we would never go back to this place again unless there was a complete revamping of everything, especially the food and even then, probably not.

Been here a few times and had decent experiences. Today was a different story. I called to see what time the brunch buffet was served. The woman on the phone said that they had brunch until 1. We got there at 12:20. Brunch was already closed. The hostess gave us breakfast menus for the kids(since«they got tired of serving brunch») and the lunch menus for us. 15 minutes later we asked a waitress if she could find our waitress. When she asked who it was, we let her know we hadn’t had anyone come over. She said they were really busy and that she would ind someone. There were 4 tables seated in the whole restaurant and 3 waitresses. We waited another 15 minutes and someone finally came over to take our orders. 10 minutes later our drinks finally came because the bartender was on the phone and at the same time they brought the 3 kids milks we ordered. This is getting easy to see what’s next. Food came out over 30 minutes later and the pancakes with bacon the kids ordered weren’t even worth eating, everything was freezing cold. Our food was ok at best. But also very cold. If you can’t do Sunday Brunch don’t advertise it. Especially when the meal costs $ 100 at a restaurant that, on its best day, is average.

After living in NJ for 15 years, we finally tried CB Huntingtons for dinner. We heard there was a new menu and we had heard not the best reviews over the years. We went the night the menu was changed over and we were pleasantly surprised! They seated us right away and the waitress was very attentive. I went with my daughter and grandson and the menu was varied enough for all of our palates. Very reasonable prices and plenty of food on the plate, too much to finish it all. We started with fried calamari which was just right, not rubbery and flavorful with a dusting of Parmesan, and the fried broccoli bites, which had a good flavor and they were served with a ranch dressing, but I think it would have been better with a Thai chili sauce, but I like that kind of contrast since the bites had cheddar cheese mixed in with the diced broccoli. I went with an old fave, chicken franchaise, and the chicken was most, perfectly cooked, and the sauce was delicate and flavorful. Served with garlic mashed, house salad with a freshly made raspberry balsamic vinaigrette, and presentation was lovely. My daughter went with the surf and turf, which was mako and petite fillet. Melt in your mouth delicious and the beef was cooked to perfection. The fish was moist, delicate, and seasoned to a T. My grandson, who is not quite 2 years old, had chicken fingers and fries, which he finished!!! He was also entertained thoroughly by the many trains running around the restaurant and the friendly staff who made him smile. Desert was pineapple upside down cake and a chocolate chip lava cake. The chocolate was good but the pineapple was scrumptious! Only complaint is that the décor is most definitely dated and could use a face lift. a little dark with a lot of dark woods, and the train displays in the room were a little over the top. I also never realized all that was behind the restaurant at Blackbeards! What a great alternative to Seaside and the crowds! Hats off to the new chef Mark, who has an excellent menu and we will be back. I will try those new gourmet burgers next time.

I went to celebrate a 50th birthday party here. I must say, the food they provided was great. Staff were great. This is the place if you love trains as there are train signs and model trains around. There’s an arcade in the back(see Blackbeards Cave). I will be returning.

A nice place with a family atmosphere… my grandaughter enjoyed seeing the many toy trains chugging around the restaurant… we were greeted by a friendly waiter who provided wonderful service… the appetizers were generous and tasty… my portabello mushroom tower was layered with just the right amount of roasted red peppers and mozzarella over a bed of romaine… the wings and the onion curls were also well received… I ordered a cheeseburger which was juicy and flavorful and not overcooked as so many are… the sweet potato fries option was a nice surprise as they were sweet and yummy… my son has a steak which was tender and cooked perfectly… the«small» calzone my friend ordered was huge but he ate the whole thing and thoroughly enjoyed it… all in all it was a very pleasant dining experience… nice atmosphere, great service, alcoholic drinks for those inclined and wonderful food reasonably priced… the Blackbeard’s Castle theme park which is behind the restaurant was also very enjoyable…

Went to celebrate an anniversary with my wife and was very happy with the restaurant. Dinner specials at $ 19.99 for two including choice of three appetizers was a real bargain. Service provided by our waitress Dina was excellent. Will definitely go back again. Menu has many choices from hamburgers to steaks as well as pizza and children’s menu. They also have full bar service and great selection of drink specials.

Came here with family since it’s one of their usual spots, and I must say, the service was great! Not to mention the pizza was delicious. Also, when we took our nieces there to ride the rides, it wasn’t too expensive. Can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon, seeing as I live in California, but I liked it!

My wife and I landed here one night out of accidental desperation after finding our favorite restaurant closed due to a power outage. Our thought at the time was«how bad can it be?» It was rather late on a Sunday night, and we seemed to have the place to ourselves. The décor was a little bit kitschy, a little bit shabby, and our hopes were ebbing a bit upon entering. Not much, though, because our expectations had been low to start with. We both ordered the King Cut of Prime Rib, rare(like it’s supposed to be, you philistines), and I must say, it was a beautiful piece of meat, perfectly prepared. We were surprised and pleased, to say the least. Pleasant surprise was the topic of conversation as we ate, which in itself was a pleasant surprise, because after twenty years together, couples don’t always have enough things to talk about to sustain them comfortably through a dinner by themselves. CB Huntington’s seems like a great place for a family to sit down and enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price. Being that we’re not really the«family» type, that’s not an ideal environment, in my mind, but lots of people would feel differently. As for me, I don’t have children, don’t want children, and in accordance with that, I don’t want to see or especially to hear your children. I imagine there are peak times of business when I would rather kill myself than eat in this restaurant. Fortunately, 9:30 on a Sunday night wouldn’t be one of those, so I was able to enjoy my meal. If this place were closer, we would probably go back, even frequently(though late in the evening). Unfortunately, it’s about twenty minutes away from our house, and about 85% of the way to our aforementioned favorite restaurant, whose name I shall withhold. Because of that, barring another unforeseen and unscheduled closure of that place, I don’t see us ever going back. However, for someone who had kids, and especially if they were taking them to the attached Blackbeard’s Cave Entertainment Center, I could definitely see it as a destination.

At first, you might think this is just a gimicky restaurant with basic food that you might get a decent burger. I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered a prime rib that was under $ 12. and it was fabulous. The horseraddish sauce was out of this world! The veggies on my plate were eaten entirely. We happened to go in April the first time, on a Monday night and kids were free. We’ve been back several times since. We’ve gone for brunch and dinners. Don’t be fooled by the arcade in the back and the amusement park behind it. The food is fabulous and the prices are extremely reasonable.
