Unless you want to drive to downtown Houston, This is a good place to try Cuban food. The breakfast sandwiches are good. Haven’t tried lunch, but there Café con Leche is Great. Definitely worth trying at least once.

Need some work on the facility, but the sandwiches are worth a quick pick up order. I crave them and we often grab them for dinner on the way home. Great service, too! I’ve encountered nothing but friendly people.

I had this place bookmarked for a while after reading the rave reviews and being that it is in my neighborhood I just had to try it. The Café is located on Decker drive right off the 330 spur. Its right at the end of W. Baker in Baytown heading south. Nothing fancy, it sticks out on its own next to a hair salon. First time I ordered from there it was for lunch and I called in an order for a cuban sandwich. The lady that took my order over the phone was very pleasant. When I got there I didn’t have to wait long which was a plus. Got my sandwich, drove back to work. Tasted it. The bread was already cooled so I didn’t get that snapping, crispy texture I was expecting. Flavors were ok but the pork tasted quite bland. Not enough mustard and pickles to give it that zing of flavor either. They combine salami, ham and pork. It tasted good but was not the best cuban sandwich I have had. I decided to give it another try. I decided to call in an order since I was close by and eat it right away thinking if I ate it hot it may be tastier. I initially ordered a cuban for me and asked if they made turkey sandwiches so I could get one for my husband. They said yes. When I got there, which wasn’t more than 5 minutes after making my call, they told me they had no turkey and offered to make me a chicken sandwich instead. So I said yes. The gentleman that makes the sandwiches(not sure if he is the owner) was very enthusiastic about his sandwiches and once he completed one he brought out it to show it off. He had just made a fish sandwich and cut it in half and was showing everyone at that front. He was so proud of his creation which made me want to eat there and try something new. They had a spicy chicken sandwich as a special so that is what I ordered for the hubs. My husband did not like the sandwich and did not finish eating it. The chicken was not seasoned and not spicy either. My cuban was just the same as the first time I ordered it. Bland. If I want a pressed crispy sandwich I may give them another try but unfortunately I had my hopes up and got disappointed twice.

This is a great little spot. Not very fancy, not super hip or cool, but they have great Cuban sandwiches! The owners run the place so there’s a lot of care that goes into your order. I had a cuban breakfast sandwich and I plan to return for a traditional Cuban.

Came here because the reviews are good. The food is amazing, I could eat a million of these fried plantains. The girl at the counter wasn’t very great but the guy here(I’m guessing the owner) seems to know his customers and is very nice. Definitely recommend for the food.

Small little place but popular. Went there for lunch and the place was banging. Order at the counter, self serve drinks, and seat yourself. I got the Cuban sandwich which was really yummy. The staff were very very friendly. Will be back for sure to try the rest of the authentic Cuban cuisine.

The café con Leche Cuban coffee is full of rich and creamy flavor. Had never had one and it’s very delicious. I also had a Cuban Sandwich and shared with my picky 6 year old who loved it. It’s toasted too which is a plus. It comes with cheese, ham, pulled pork and salami. Very filing.

Tasty sandwiches and rice and beans(arroz congris) They also have a delicious veggie Cuban, not in the menu: –sautéed squash and zucchini with onions, olives and feta cheese. Awesome! The ropa vieja is also tasty. Service is nice and quick and the place is cozy with free wifi.

So I came here at 3 pm on a Saturday during my lunch break from work and although the sign said«open», all the doors were closed and no one was there. Mind you I had a 30 minute break that was spent driving here to eat and get coffee only to go back to work hungry and coffee-less. Thank god for Starbucks that was around. However I am sure the food and coffee must taste good, too bad I didn’t get a chance to say for myself.

Let me start by saying that this small restaurant needs to be bigger, because this is one of the greatest restaurants I have ever sat in. The customer service is better than anywhere I’ve been, including chain restaurants that require these things. The people who work here regard others as equals, and treat each other as brothers and sisters, the community here is wonderful. Now, for the food! I have only tried one meal so far, being vegetarian is always a little tiresome when it comes to getting the right food, these guys made me a sandwich with sautéed veggies on Cuban bread and Swiss. I held back tears when the sandwich was presented, and as I bit into this beautiful creation I knew I would return for lunch tomorrow. This place is amazing, please do not overlook the location, please stop here and enjoy the ambience, the community and above all, the food.

Nice to have something new in Baytown! I had the Cuban sandwich and it was as I remembered having them in San Juan, Husband got the ropa vieja plate and it made for a big lunch — plantains and rice/beans had a really good flavor. Nice to have new flavors for a change!

Place was recommended by a coworker for their café de leche. Their café de leche is an excellent choice at a reasonable price. I also recommend trying their breakfast sandwich. The owners are from the Tampa area and are trying to introduce a new style to the area. If you are in the area and looking to try something new, stop in!

Great amazing food and terrific service. The owners and operators are extremely friendly and helpful if you aren’t sure what you’d like. I haven’t had one thing that I didn’t like, I’ve had the ropa vieja, the Picadillo, the authentic Cuban, the breakfast, you name it I’ve tried it, and the Cuban coffee as well as the café con leche is better than Starbucks. The best part is everything is so affordable! Def a must try!
