Jimmy’s is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area as far as I’m concerned! The service is consistently excellent, the food is absolutely delicious(try the eggplant parm) and they give you a nice bread basket with eggplant caponata and olive oil to dip. They always have nice specials, Jimmy is so nice and always comes over to greet you and they have a nice party room on the side.

The food was ok at best. Ordered the Sea Food special which included lobster. We were asked if we wanted it in the Shell or out of the shell. 4 orders were placed for the special 2 orders were served properly cleaned the other two still had the roe left on them and they were mixed with tomato sauce. Upon showing the owner the food he was dismissive about the matter. Well at least the salad was ok and the ice was cold.

Best part about Jimmy’s is the service. If you’re looking for a place that has great service(because you have a larger group) and you don’t care so much about the food, then this would be a place you should consider. If you’re looking for great Italian food, I’ve certainly experience much, MUCH better. We ordered calamari, antipasto salad, and bacon wrapped scallops for the appetizer. The bacon wrapped scallops were pretty good… although you really can’t go wrong with bacon wrapped scallops, unless the scallop isn’t fresh(then we’d have some real problems with this place). However, the calamari was SOGGY, and the antipasto salad was VERY underwhelming. With new restaurants I always play it safe and order penne a la vodka, which typically cannot go wrong. Thank goodness I did, because my friends who ordered other pasta dishes were very disappointed. Gnocchi was really bad… I’m sorry Jimmy’s, but this dish either needs a huge rework or needs to be taken off of your menu. We felt bad returning the entire dish, but do the chefs even taste the food they’re sending out? The Gnocchi had a horrible doughy aftertaste that just lingered in your mouth. Some of my friends said it reminded them of Play-Doh. The sauce(meat sauce) tasted like straight up sloppy joes out of a can(which, by the way, I have no problem with as long as the description and price of the plate matches the actual product). The rest of the pasta dishes were either way too salty or completely bland. I’m surprised that this place had so many high ratings when I logged in to write this review. As for me, I saw myself in an episode of «Kitchen Nightmares»

This is by far the worst place I have ever ever been to. Service awful, food worse and overall just terrible. I can’t believe how many good reviews there are for this place. Mind boggling.

Everything about this place is fantastic. The food, staff, and beautiful renovations they’ve done over the years

Wow!!! The food was AMAZING! Took me by surprise!!! The Italian food here is of the caliber of Arthur Avenue in the Bronx or Little Italy. So glad I found dead this place!!! The red sauces and mushroom sauces are fantastic and even the mozzarella sticks were different than anywhere else I’ve been. The bread was ridiculously good and service was super friendly… I will be back and I will bring friends!!!

I love Jimmy’s Trattoria in Bayside. Don’t let the de or fool you, this place rates five stars on my book. Family owned and run local restaurant where the staff is friendly and the food is so fresh and delicious. The staff hustles to make sure each table is getting attention. Did I mention the food? So delicious it will knock your socks off. Tonight I had the special Osso bucco with mushrooms and cauliflower. The best I ever had. And my husband had the seafood Luciano. We cleared our plates. If you are looking for home made authentic delicious Italian food this your place.

I have been to this restaurant several times this year. Most times was with large groups for an organization, but most recently I was there for dinner with a good friend who lives near by. Jimmy’s is an excellent restaurant in a very lively area of Queens, Bell Boulevard. The bus boys start you off with multiple bread options that are all delicious, as the waiter tells you all the various special they are offering that night. I love gnocchi and get it at most Italian restaurants, and I was not at all disappointed by Jimmy’s plate! I recommend getting it in the cream cause with extra Parmesan cheese! The wine list it extensive, and there is a bar up front if you just want to come in for a cocktail. Although everything was tasty, the prices were a little more than you might want to pay for a regular day of the week dinner. Save this place for a somewhat special occasion, and then swing by one of the various dessert places or bars nearby!

A perfect setting for my niece’s graduation party. The meal was delicious. I had the seafood special; linguini, scallops, lobster and crabs over a white wine sauce. All the seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection. An excellent family restaurant with amazing food. I highly recommend this and can’t wait to return.

We were the only ones in for a late lunch when they opened. I was able to basically make my own pasta entrée which was very nice of them. Their olive oil, seasoning, and garlic dip with bread is a new favorite of mine. We had their eggplant as an appetizer which was new for me to try and excellent, especially if you’re vegetarian. The staff was super kind and made us feel very welcomed. :) I’d visit again!

Great service, friendly staff. Great food and next to plenty of nice bars to visit after dinner.

Jimmy’s is great. And so is Jimmy himself. The food is good, the service is good and the staff is accommodating. Order to go or sit down to eat in the restaurant.

If I was rating this based on the first time I came here I would definitely give it 5 stars. This time I came here with my sister and mother. The food is great as usual! It’s pricey but the portions are big enough that you feel you weren’t ripped of. I always leave feeling full and satisfied. I have one complaint which made me give a 4 stars — the service. There seems to be many people working as waiters so they all would come by now and then. Ideally this would seem very nice, but it felt very disorganized. When a waiter would check up on us, they would seem very rushed to go to another table. And when we needed a waiter, they would be nowhere to be found. However, this one instance of bad service shouldn’t scare you away. I still recommend this restaurant very much — we had great food and a great time!

After visiting several times I finally got around to a review. Jimmy’s has a large bar with adjoining dining room. He expanded from next door and renovated the entire place. The service is good. The owner is onsite and working. Now for the food. The veal chop valdestano is fantastic. Nice double cut veal chop stuffed with prosciutto and cheese then breaded fried and covered in a brown mushroom sauce… arrrrrrr. The stuffed shrimp come 5 or 6 jumbo shrimp with a crab cake sized stuffing on each one and oreganato sauce. Chilean sea bass entrée is solid and is prepared to your liking. The tiramisu was excellent on one visit but off on another. Jimmy’s is a good place for a nice meal.

Portions here are HUGE. I regret not doggy-bagging mine to go. But the food itself is mediocre. I ordered the zuppa di pesce because I love fra diavalo sauce over anything especially with seafood. Huge chunks of shrimp, clams, and calamari, but they were all pretty tasteless. Also shared a dozen baked clams with my friend. Nothing to write home about. If you get wines by the glass, they will only serve you house. Place was practically empty when we got there. The waiters are friendly but they go on their phones in front of you until you call them over. So unprofessional!

My grandma loves to come to this restaurant so we often come here for holidays or birthdays. Tonight I had the penne ala vodka and it was great. My mom and boyfriend love the lasagna. It’s a very good restaurant in the neighborhood.

Decent atmosphere… But is not very intimate as the whole restaurant felt like we were being served at a banquet hall. One server and two busboys for the entire restaurant, as the manager/or owner was busy counting his daily receipts by the counter. It’s not bad service, just limited and understaffed… Which is unfair to the staff and patrons! The food took forever… you would think they are in the kitchen whipping up the best. The food comes out very bland, the marina sauce is very blanddddd!!! Everything needed extra sprinklings of salt and pepper. Nothing was memorable in taste or presentation. 2 stars for the seemingly pleasant atmosphere and the fact that these people probably think they are operating a decent institution. I think Olive Garden would even be better than this sadly.

Had dinner here last night because we didn’t want to venture too far in Long Island. Food was very average at best — calamari overcooked, veal sorrentino just ok. More important restaurant has a «Rating Pending» on window. Looked on the Health Dept Site to see what a B rating entails, I will leave it at that. Will not be returning anytime soon.

I got the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The first few bites were absolutely amazing! But the dish was too heavy for me, so I took the rest home. The next day, I took it out and microwaved it and poured out all the oil and it was delicious. I wanted more and more haha The restaurant was quiet and it was a perfect place to dine. I was with my friends and we just sat there and ate and talked. It was really nice. The waiters were super patient when I was ordering my food too.

Food: mediocre, at best. I liked the angel hair in garlic and oil though, that had strong flavor. The veal looked exceptional, but they ran out of their special steak that evening. I was so sad. Service: food took over an hour to arrive. This made it lose one star. We were also basically ignored for a long time before any of the servers noticed… Décor: quite clean and neat. Sadly, this place is unlikely to get a second visit from me.
