I do understand the concept of making a profit, but this is ridiculous. This store is the biggest ripoff ever. How they can justify their prices is beyond me. Go to Marc’s, go to Aldi and you’ll save a ton buying the identical product. Having good lighting or being a clean store or putting bags in the car does not justify what they charge. See you at Marc’s!

From a former employee perspective, I was at Heinen’s for 3-years and was always treated with respect from my fellow employees. I really enjoyed working here. Every time I go in here, my former co-workers always want me come back to work lol. I cannot think of many negatives that made me feel like I should quit or this job isn’t for me. The hours, discounts, and pay are great. The relationships you build with the customers and fellow employees are helpful. It’s a great start-up job for younger kids /premature adults. You develop a great work ethic, customer service skills, and those soft skills that you need later in life. For me, as an example, I’m an introverted personality and I currently hold a client-facing position in my job at a professional services firm — if it weren’t for Heinen’s showing me the way, I don’t think I would enjoy my current position and talking to people. The skills you gain from Heinen’s will provide the necessary soft skills and work ethic you need in a future career.

Excellent variety of things you can’t find elsewhere. Salad bar on MOST days are fully replenished with fresh things to choose from. Constantly stocking shelves. Only downfall with that, the stock guys don’t really move out of the way and aren’t very friendly like the other associates. One cashier(reddish hair) is beyond amazing. She is super friendly and outgoing. Nothing but a fun and friendly girl. The gentleman at the prepared foods is super helpful and will tell you what needs to be done when you get home with the food. Customer service ladies are ok, but not like the rest of the associates. And the parking lots at ALL Heinens are AWFUL!!!

A very clean store with helpful personal. The seafood and prepared food sections are my favorites.

I have been a loyal shopper here since 1979, when I lived a block away and pushed the kids in strollers there to shop. My family has been raised on the high quality and fair prices always found there. Occasionally I would comparison-shop with competitors just to see if I could be missing something. There was no comparison. The diverse selection, the economical store-brands all helped us as a one-income family. Now as empty nesters with two incomes, we can splurge on the many other goodies there. Thank you, Heinens, for providing outstanding quality along with the best associates found anywhere!

I LOVETHISPLACE! Great produce, great selection of beers and wine, great prepared foods and catering. Clean nice atmosphere. Friendly and helpful employees. AND they put your groceries in your car for you! I love Heinens. Only complaint is that it can get super crowded. As a bay village resident, some tips to avoid huge crowds: on Sundays go during peak church attending hours(9 – 11)and you can usually avoid some madness. Or go on Sunday about an hour before closing. Early mornings on weekdays are usually nice and there is usually some down time around 2 – 4 when the kids are being picked up from school. I haven’t figured out Saturdays yet…

Very similar to the ones east side but people seem a little nicer. Everyone was so helpful. It was surreal.

I’ve been coming to this Heinen’s for years, every time that I am in Bay. The produce, seafood, and meat are all very fresh and high quality. The prepared foods will make a great meal in a pinch. Also — they’ve got a diverse wine selection as well as some craft beers. The service is quick and efficient, I’ve never had a bad experience I completely disagree with Lou K’s review — I’ve never felt that the staff is pretentious, or that the cost is excessive. Sure, the groceries will be a bit more expensive than at a discount grocery store like Marc’s or something, but its nowhere near the level of Whole Foods, for example. And the cost here is definitely proportional to the higher quality. Further, you can find plenty of «unhealthy» brands here, but if that is all you’re shopping for it would definitely make more sense to go to a place like Giant Eagle or Marcs.

I’m a regular. The sea food department is out standing. The specialists have placed special orders on oysters and chilean sea bass for me. they were even nice to call me when the shipment came in. The lines are never long. Heinen’s definitely has high quality standards.

I’m surprised Heinen’s of Bay Village sells toilet paper, since every time I go there everyone in the store acts like they don’t poop. Honestly, these people are the most pompous shoppers I’ve ever seen. And management knows that, as you won’t find most of the unhealthy, cheap brands that form the staples of my diet. Sure it is clean, and the help is friendly, but I want people to judge me by the content of my character, not the content of my basket. That’s another thing. I’ve never used a cart at this Heinen’s because I couldn’t afford to fill it. If I could, then I’d be able to have it carried to my car by the cart valets – have to admit, that’s a nice touch, and tipping is not allowed. I’ll go there when I need something and it is the closest store that might have it, but I get the feeling that I’m not good enough to be a regular. Giant Eagle is more to my liking, as I can carry Hormel Chili to the checkout line with my head held high, and pick up Camel Lights from the service desk without apologizing.
