Woody’s Custom Landscaping

Woody and his crew made a very large landscaping job seem easy and stress free for us. They worked off a plan drawing from a prefessional landscape designer (Gregg and Ellis) and followed it to exactly what we asked for. We now have 2 terraces in are sloping back yard very sturdy and prfessionally done. Coble stone lighted paths with railings that take us to the bottom of the yard with a very nice water feature. And all the plants that were requested that were in the plan were precisely planted in the right places. We waited awhile for them to start because of other jobs scheduled but they are definately worth the wait. They do a great job and they are honest and really work hard to please. Use them and you will get the landscaping job you invisioned.

Our backyard was transformed from just dirt to a beautiful backyard with all the plants, flowers and fruit tress we wanted along with a fire pit and brick seating, a beautiful water feature and a lush green lawn. All this with a sprinkler and drip system to each and every plant and tree.
The Woody and his crew were very responsive to any of our requests and needs.

We have used Woody’s to install patio pavers, back yard landscape and low voltage lighting system. Each project was extremely successful. Woody and his team are prompt, neat, respectful of the owner’s needs. Lastly we had a failure in one of the lights and Woody promptly removed the light and replaced it under the warranty. I highly recommend this company.

We had a couple landscaping companies come out and give us bids on re-​landscaping our back yard. We went with Woody’s Custom Landscaping and we are 100% satisfied with the work of the workers. All the guys are so respectful and polite. They even called and gave us a 30 min window when they would show up, that way I could bring the dogs in the house and unlock the side gate. We recently contracted Woody’s Custom Landscaping to plant a row of Arborvitaes (22 plants) along the back edge of our property and also plant ground cover (45 plants) on the slope leading from the grass line down to the property line. He estimated a start date and hit it right on the noise, even despite the weather. The job was finished in 1.5 days, right on schedule. Both Woody and his crew are very professional and pay close attention to details. They always respect the desires of the property owner as well area where they are working. We are new to the area and wanted to have some landscaping done to a house we recently moved in to, got several estimates, and decided to go with Woody’s company. We are totally satisfied with the work and will not hesitate to contact him in the future for additional landscaping needs. We highly recommend his company for any landscaping work.

Woody and his crew were professional, timely and detail oriented from beginning to the end of my huge backyard project. They went above and beyond, adding little details and finishing touches without even being asked. I was thoroughly impressed with Woody, his integrity and his honest approach to business. Every person on this crew was knowledgeable about landscaping and had great ideas on presenting an aesthetically pleasing finished product. We just had our yard renovated and landscaped by Woody’s Landscaping, and we love it. We had gotten three bids on the job. Woody was the middle bid. We think his bid was accurate and reasonable. Of the three, he was the only one to take accurate measurements and give us a detailed proposal of the work to be done, the amounts of materials to be used, and a complete description of the materials. We also spoke with others who have used them, and good very good reviews. Woody worked closely with us in designing the landscaping to ensure it was beautiful and what we waned.
His crew was fast and professional. If we noticed anything that did not look just right, they were quick to change it to meet our requests. The crew was on site every day between 7 and 7:30 am, and worked until about 5 pm. Woody showed up usually 2 or 3 times each day to be sure the work was progressing as planned and to ensure our concerns were addressed properly.
If we ever have any landscaping done in the future, we will call Woody’s Landscaping. We will also recommend him to our friends and neighbors. By the way, everyone who has seen the work have commented on how nice it looks.

We had work done by Woody and his crew back in November that they completed on time and at a level of professionalism you don’t see much anymore. The work they completed was above and beyond our expectations and beautiful. I have called Woody three times since and EVERY time he or his supervisor come out and fix my issues that aren’t even related to the work they completed. I have had the opportunity to observe first hand and personally many satisfied customers of Woody’s Custom landscaping. He does things the old fashioned way, he says what he is going to do then he does it. He has the education as a landscaping engineer to sit down and thoroughly go over a customers desires, put it on paper, then accomplish his plan on site. Over the years Woody has proven to be more than capable to perform in this highly competitive field by providing a superior product at a fair price and on schedule. For that I confidently rate him five stars.

I am pretty damned angry. I cannot recommend Woody’s Custom Landscaping. We hired Woody to do a large landscaping job at our house and he did not perform. I cannot call this man a professional unless that title includes the following: Be prepared to pay up front. He arrived on start day with his men and the materials but refused to get started until I paid him over a third of the total cost with no invoice. He came highly recommended and I had back-​to-​back projects scheduled so I trusted him and paid him to keep on schedule. He also insisted we pay him throughout the build but refused to offer itemized invoices for each payment. The project was delayed before completion because Woody and his men disappeared three days before the job was done. When I finally got him on the phone he said they would be back out the following Monday but never showed. He showed up again on Tuesday, late, then rushed through the final three days of work in just one afternoon leaving the job undone. He also completely rerouted our sprinkler system without our permission and now the zones are linked in a way that does not work for the plants or for us, we would have to dig up the entire project to realign the sprinkler zones. Woody talks a good game but does not deliver. Because he had another job to get to and abandoned our agreement, the yard was left looking very raw. We wanted him to come back to add the finishes as agreed so the yard would look like it was done by a professional but he stopped returning phone calls or emails. We were forced to pay another landscaper to come out and finish the job. His refusal to consult the homeowner over changes, his insistence that you pay him up front without paperwork, and his very poor communication skills makes this landscaper seem pretty small by comparison to others in the area. All of the glowing reviews we read about this man are the reason why we hired him. Why he chose to act like an ass on our job is a mystery. What ever his problem was, it is not professional to take it out on your customers. He is a fast talker and just be prepared, you may be next. I cannot recommend this company.
