happys… a wanna be irish bar. everyone in baton rouge has been there its no surprise. they do a good job to recreate the irish pub feel so ill give them credit there. the speakers in the side room are absolutely horrific. good service, good looking workers, and they put on live music in the back occasionally. its whatever just not a fan of the 3rd street scene

Enjoying drinks. Service was fast and music was fun! The outdoor performers were fun and interactive and the inside music was appealing to all different ages.

This is probably my favorite bar downtown. The new game room is awesome if you want to kick back with some friends after work on a Friday. The drinks aren’t to expensive and the bartenders have always been nice and quick with getting my drink. The 5ks on Tuesday are also a good chance to get a little mid week work out in while you meet people, and they usually have some live music out back afterwards. If you live close by and frequent this place, buy a mug for around 30 bucks that they will keep at the bar for you. It’s bigger than a regular glass and you get a small plaque hung up in the bar with a quote of your choosing. It will make you feel like a local even if your not.

I really enjoy coming here! I work on a paddlewheel ship that stops in Baton Rouge every week and this place always treats us great! The girls behind the bar are always smiling and working hard! You rarely ever see them just standing around which is refreshing! Always very attentive and are quite knowledgeable about all of their drafts! We had a girl with us that was on a diet but still wanted to come out and the bartender gave her so many options of drinks and even knew calorie counts! I was a bit skeptical and checked and she was spot on! Can’t thank this team enough for always making my experience a pleasant one! I make it. Point to go in every time we are in port!

Serena the bartender was rude. Fun bar but she was bummer. Otherwise this would be a fun place.

Happy’s is one of my favorite places to drink. While their beer selection is small compared to places like Chimes or Draft House, the girls there are sweet and friendly and, overall, provide exceptional service. I have yet to meet a cocktail that wasn’t balanced /well mixed or, if it wasn’t, was generously poured. They often have live music in the back, and their game room is FANTASTIC. I’m a personal fan of the shuffleboard table, and I can say without reservation that they have the BEST pool tables and cues of any bar downtown. Also, I’m a sucker for popcorn, which they provide free of charge ;-P

Now expanded happy s but it is still God olé habits to me. Sorry the Coursey location closed down but this one is nearby for me quite often as well. Staff dresses provocatively, usually friendly although sometimes more business like than friendly even though not extremely busy. Good selection of beer and decent happy hour with popcorn. The expanded happy s area appears to be a game room but perhaps not. There is an outdoor stage in the back which is good as well

One of my favorite bars in BTR. Great drink specials and the bartenders always remember me. They usually have live music and they have a game room. I enjoy coming to run their 5k on Tuesdays and my favorite day of the month is St. Practice Day, which is on the 17th of each month and has better specials than usual!(Did someone say $ 1 green beers?)

Happy’s is decent, friendly to regulars, dog-friendly, but nothing special as far as beer selection goes(compared to, say, the Bulldog and The Chimes). The liquor selection is a little better with a few top-shelf whiskey choices. 3rd street drama catches up with this particular location similar to Lucy’s across the street and, in fact, several of the staff works at both of these locations as well as Jolie Pearl. The curse of 3rd street, as a consequence, is a cliquey atmosphere and similar service that you will see across most of these locations. Happy’s somehow rises a bit above that pettiness and provides some very friendly service. I’ll be much happier once the beer selection rises to the level of her service provided by most of the Happy’s girls.

Happy’s finally expanded! I’ve always liked getting a few beers there, but on weekend nights you can’t move inside. They recently expanded and it’s great. They have another room with pool tables and mini hoops. I think they had a shuffleboard table as well. The extra space made a huge difference. We usually go in for car bombs and leave quick because it’s so crowded. We stayed for 2 hours last night and probably spent about $ 30-$ 40 per person between games and drinks. They also have a full bar outside, rather than the makeshift cooler bar they used to set up. The whole experience was better and more accessible. Good job, Happy’s.

Great hang out. True Irish pub feel on the original side. The new side feels very much like a sports bar though. Kind of a mid-match but it works.

Hot bartenders, great atmosphere, and the Happy Hour is marvelous. 2−4−1 draft pints means a whole quart of Abita Andygator for $ 5.50…wahoo! I am coming back more often.

It’s 5 o’ the clock on a Friday night and the sky’s clear. I’ve just arrived downtown after trying on 3 different short/shirt combinations at my house. Why? Well, it’s Live After 5 in the Red Stick and I don’t want to look like a bum. After taking a nice low level parking space in the 3rd Street Garage, I make my way down the road. As if on cue, the phone buzzes. It’s Robby B. and he wants to know the haps. «I guess meet me at Happy’s» is my reply. Along the way I bump into Mike D. and his lovely bride(I think) as they enjoy a drink on the patio of Lucy’s. Pleasant conversation is followed by cordial goodbyes as I see my homies coming down the boulevard. Robby B. is decked out in obnoxious aviators that he swears are his style, and Glynna M. is resplendent in whatever it was she was wearing… because she’s always resplendent. Oh wait, here comes Wesley M. around the corner. Obligatory uniform of an LSU shirt is right were we expect it to be. High fives are exchanged and we make our way to Happy’s. Two for One Beer is in full effect. They don’t really give you two, they give you a giant cup and call it two. I’m pretty sure it holds about 32oz. That’s a big ass beer. We all pick our poison and, since we’re fairly early, are able to take a seat in the corner booth by the window. Hi-jinks ensue. By this time, several more have joined our troupe of toasting tribesmen(and women), and Glynna has already started standing on the bench, shaking her booty in Michael’s face. But hey, it’s her birthday weekend, so all bets are off. We spend a little time admiring the salacious graffiti covering pretty much every square inch of the ancient brick walls, grab another round and make our way to the concert stage down the street. Our usual routine is to make our way back to Happy’s every time we need a refill, but these monster cups got a hold of me. I remarked to my friend that I had already drank 2 quarts of beer in less than 2 hours. That being said, we made our way back to Happy’s and I indulged in one of their fine Vodka and Red Bull beverages. Not really fine. No different than anywhere else, but I needed a wake up. We retired to the back patio because inside was way too smoky and crowded for my tastes. The outside patio is a very large space with a place for bands to play. I’ve seen many. I’ve come back to specifically see only a couple of them, but the open area and its own bar are very convenient. They also have port-o-lets out there… and I’m a dude… so it works for me. We hung out for a little while longer then made our way to the Radio Bar(still trying to decide how I’m gonna write that review…).

Went here for a little concert after the spanish town mardi gras parade and it was a cool little set up in the back. Tons of places to sit, but tons of places to dance too. Band was good, drinks were good, things were happy at Happy’s.

Happy’s Irish Pub? I don’t understand how they think they can call this place a pub. It looks like a pub, but it sure as hell doesn’t feel like one. It feels like any other super generic bar in Baton Rouge. This place is really small. Like ludicrously small for the amount of people that sometimes come here. You cant even move. When it’s like this, good luck ordering a drink. You are only getting something in a reasonable amount of time when you know one of the bartenders. The only time you will get decent service here is when they aren’t very packed. Some nights they will open the back patio and have bands play there. When they do this it’s a lot easier to get a drink as they put a temporary bar outside. One of the main draws for this place is the bartenders. It’s kind of like a Hooters/Twin Peaks type outfit that the bartenders and waitresses wear. I don’t like this place at all, but it’s not the worst bar in Baton Rouge. There have also been times where I’ve come here and had a good time, just that those times are very rare.

Great Irish pub. Considering it’s not owned by authentic irish pub owners, they do a great job of keeping the irish pub feel. It’s definitely not authentic, but very enjoyable. I am a Guinness lover but only drink it out of regularly rotated taps which there are only a couple in Baton Rouge. The crowds at Happys are always great and I almost always have fun here. The space is a little constrained but you can go out back where they build a nice wooden stage and there is plenty of space.

It is a dirty, dreary bar. If all you want is a bar with scantily clad waitresses, this is good. If you are looking for anything else, this is not it. They don’t have windows or food.

Happy’s is the kinda place where every time you go back, their drinks have increased in price. I used to love their happy hooligans back when they were $ 5 a pop(I’m sure they started even cheaper than that, but I wasn’t around for it). A little pricey, but for an awesome tasting drink that was decently strong, I paid it. Went back a few times, and the had migrated up slowly from $ 5 to $ 6. I’d buy them still, but sorta grudgingly. Few more visits and they were up to $ 6.50. I’d scrape together the cash for 1 or 2, but deep inside I felt me and the hooligan were going to be breaking up soon. $ 7 hit and I bailed. Fuck me, but I can’t see how it’s worth it. It gets you tipsy, but not $ 7 tipsy. I’d rather go down the street to puncher’s and get a donkey punch, or schlittz and giggles and get a horribly overpriced schlits, then pay that much. Sorry Happy’s, but when you inflate your prices that much that fast, you lose my business. Take it slow and steady and I may be coming back, cause if you took it slow they’d probably only be $ 6 still. As far as the bar itself goes, it tiny, crowded, smoky, and kinda questionable. The first 3 are to be expected and tolerated. The sketchy customers make it a little less fun. B&T down the street has a much nicer crowd. Happy’s won’t be seeing me back any time soon, unless some seriously hot poon drags me there.

This is a great, no frills happy hour spot. As Corey D. said, there aren’t a huge selection of beers but it still captures that great pub feel that seems to be otherwise missing from BTR. Definitely check it out.
