Brew, zoo, yummy food and cool bands, too! So this was a bit of everything enjoyable in one area at the Baton Rouge Zoo. I have attended both 1st annual and 2nd annual Brew At The Zoos, so it looks like this is something that will happen annually and just continue to grow. It was so awesome to not only get to experience the zoo, but also sip on some tasty brews, nosh on some sweet and savory food and listen to some live bands. Overall, it made for a fabulous Friday night. Local brews by Parish Brewing Co., Tin Roof Brewing Co, Gnarly Barley, to name a few. Any event would be incomplete without tasty bites, right? Happy to get a taste of some local restaurants/catering Tallulah Baton Rouge’s jerk chicken sliders, City Pork’s brisket with polenta & pickled veggies, liquor-infused cake balls by Cake Jewels and icy treats by Ninja Snowballs. Best thing about it all was that funds raised are all going to support the Baton Rouge Zoo! It was definitely neat to be able to have more wiggle room and walk parts of the zoo time around. The first year, everyone was restricted to one area. While it was still light out, many got to catch the tigers milling around their enclosures! Made ya want to take one of them home; they’re so cute. There were even zoo handlers that brought out a few small animals to educate the public about them. Über was even a partner for the event to encourage rides to/from the event. It was a fun one and I am already looking forward to attending again next year!

This was my first year attending this event and I enjoyed myself sooo much!!! The parking was easy and the door to get in ran very smoothly. All the vendors here were friendly and they gave information about the different beers. I’m not much of a beer drinker but I absolutely learned a lot. The food vendors had some really good quick food. The egg rolls from bulldog was my favorite. The music was good too:-))) What impressed me the most was how clean the place looked even after the 2 hrs of being there. Guys this was a great event and I truly had a great time thank you Baton Rouge Zoo for hosting such a great event!
