Came here with a very large party. We were a pain in the ass and many of us had separate checks, and they were able to accommodate us! The sushi was AMAZING, and beautifully presented. The drinks were strong and nice sized. Loved the décor. Our waiter was amazing. Great memory, very attentive!

This is my first ever post on Unilocal due to how poor the service was during the entire night at Vine. Had a 7:45 reservation with my family on Christmas Eve 2015, and didn’t leave until 11PM. This was not because of the conversation, but due to the fact that the food was served at 10:20. The only person who cared enough to check on the group was the man providing alcohol, presumably because that’s how he got paid. Besides that, we were never checked on once, drinks were empty for quite awhile and no one would return for at least 10min if we were able to grab an employee. Only time they cared enough to check in was when after the bill was placed on the table. Seems like a classic situation where they truly only prioritized the regulars, and could care less about anyone else. Terrible way to spend the holidays. Will never return.

I had the opportunity to dine at Vine for a recent work holiday dinner. I was limited to a set menu but the food was great regardless. I started with a tasty fried calamari appetizer that hit the spot. Fort entrée I had the Bronzino, which is a flaky white fish, and it was fantastic. A great restaurant to visit for sure.

We had not been to Vine in a few years and decided to give it a try again. It was excellent. We waited in the bar for a bit beyond our reservation. No problem, because the bar area is very nice and the bartender was pleasant. Finally we were seated at a perfect table for 2. A manager came over immediately, and offered us complimentary samples of some appetizers, and apologized for the wait. I thought that was a very nice gesture. The waiter was a professional. He knew the menu, and made good suggestions. The food was excellent! The vibe in the dining room was cheery, overall a very nice evening. At the end of the meal, the waiter swept the bread crumbs off the table with his little plastic tool, I remarked to my wife that I hadn’t seen a waiter do that in a long time. The check was presented, and the total was very reasonable, $ 50 less than I predicted. This is a $$$$ restaurant at a $$$ price. Here’s a little constructive criticism… Make a little sidewalk connecting the back parking lot to the entrance area. Otherwise a perfect evening. We will we back. Thanks!

The food was good but the waiter was kind of a wise guy.

Crab cake and Goat Cheese for the appetizer is good. Main dish: Duck is really good. Spicy scallop and shrimp risottos is not good — can’t find the shrimp or scallop. Desert: Chocolate Molten Cake & Ice Cream is good too.

This place does it all! Very elegant place with a wonderful staff. The dishes here were just irresistible. To top it off the dessert here is a great way to end a perfect meal. Can’t wait to come back!

I have only been to large group dinners here, but those have all been fantastic. The staff is incredibly attentive. The kitchen is flexible. With a million Italian restaurants in North Jersey, this may not be number 1, but it will not disappoint.

A were in town for a business trip. Fancy restaurant which was pricey but oh it was worth it. A quite elegant dining area with very good service. Started off with complimentary bread(very delicious)! We ordered the fried calamari with the spicy marinara sauce. Calamari was a bit tough but the fried outer coating and spicy sauce were tasty togetherl. I had a Coke($ 2/each, no free refills). My manager ordered the special of the evening which was the Jumbo Shrimp in Pesto and Fresh Linguine, my co-worker ordered the Sea Bass, and I ordered the Lobster Ravioli. We all shared our meals. The Jumbo Shrimp was so clean tasting and didn’t have the shrimpy flavor. It tasted sweet with a hint of ocean salt water. The linguine was made fresh with a delicious pesto sauce. The Sea Bass was delicate and no fishy tasting. But the star of the show was the Lobster Ravioli! The pasta was thin but the filling was full of lobster. Just full of heavenly lobster shellfish flavor. The frothy broth of Champagne caviar sauce was delicate and married well with the ravioli. They definitely didn’t skimp on the lobster filling. We ended the dinner by sharing the Vine Chocolate molten cake with vanilla gelato on a caramel chip. A plate of ginger snaps were also included. A happy ending to a great experience/meal. Is it classy? Yes! Is it pricey? Yes! Is it worth it? Yes! Probably the best food I have had in years, maybe decades. I can still taste the lobster ravioli right now as I write this review! Good thing the company is paying this expense! ;)

We hosted a luncheon for family and close friends after our mother’s memorial mass at a nearby church and the Vine did a fabulous job. The setting was wonderful. Since the luncheon was on a Saturday and the restaurant is not open for lunch on Saturday, we were able to occupy the entire downstairs dining room, which is lovely. There were fresh flowers on each table. The pre-fixed menu was perfect. Each guest started with a mixed green salad, and then had a choice of rigatoni bolognese, tilapia almondine or chicken with a lemon sauce with artichokes, followed by dessert of cheesecake or sorbet. We were charged for only those who attended which was great because we were not quite sure how many people were planning to attend the service and the lunch. We opted to serve beer and wine as well as mixed drinks and we were charged for only what was consumed. After enjoying this fine establishment for dinner and the wonderful service they provided during this luncheon, I can highly recommend the Vine for fine dining and special occasions.

Elegant formal dining on tablecloths, prix fix lunch is $ 21 for three courses, very quiet in the dining room and graceful service too, full bar service, plenty of parking. There’s also a small but very nice bar, more a place to wait for your dining companion or a table rather than a destination. No taps, if you were wondering. Bread comes first, a couple of rolls and slices, plus a huge pat of butter. We succumbed to the lure of 3 courses and walked away with quite a food coma. For an entrée I tried the blackened tilapia over sweet potatoes, spinach and lump crabmeat — that’s huge lumps of crab, not any piddly pieces — a sophisticated, yummy meal. My dining companion ordered chicken marsala, the meat was done perfectly and it came with potatoes and a big pile of green beans, all very good. They bring gingersnaps at the end, excellent crispy little cookies, see pic. Vegetarian rating at lunch: 2.5 stars, options include a mushroom bisque soup(excellent, we tried it), several salads, burrata & eggplant appy, four-cheese ravioli in cream sauce, and a sun-dried tomato and veg ravioli in butter sage sauce. No veggie entrée in the prix fix menu and sorry no substitutions; they don’t add any veggie entrees at dinner either. This is definitely a little spendy, a perfect place to take your parents or even grandparents. Absolutely A-OK, I’m just not a big fan of formal. But maybe after another decade of Unilocaling this will be a 5-star place for me lol.

We had an event at Vine with 70 people. We chose the restaurant for its warm feel and excellent food. I can not say enough about the service. The staff and care are top notch. Everything we asked for was«no problem.» The restaurant is family run with incredible personal touch. The owner even gave a guest a ride to the train station so that no guests had to miss out on the event. I highly recommend Vine for an evening out or for an event. The food, feeling and care make it a truly special place.

Excellent and friendly service. VERY small bar, however good ambience. The duck dish was cooked perfectly, with all included components working well together. Mocha chocolate cake for desert was also seriously good. Would absolutely return!

Nice décor. Service was pretty good. Did not enjoy meals for most part. Tuna pizza appetizer was very good. Steak gnocci casserole is a nice idea but dish didn’t come together, flavors didn’t combine well, and meat was very gamey and at times tough. Cauliflower purée was like a bowl of cream — no body to it, felt like eating sauce, and I wouldn’t recommend. Decent place, probably won’t return given prices and my overall feeling of a lackluster meal.

Awesome service and food. Was in NJ for a class and ran by this restaurant. It was wonderful. Family owned but highly professional. Ate lobster ravioli not only homemade but delicious. Nice touch in the bar with nuts and pretzels and ginger snaps after dinner. A must go!!!

I dine out quite often, but I have to say, Vine is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. I always enjoy a visit to Vine. The service is great and the food is incredible, although, I would especially recommend the duck. I have driven an hour and a half just to eat here and I have no shame in admitting that because I love this place so much.

Really enjoyed our meal. I’d go back again. After returning home, we found an error on our bill. I called them and they credited us(which they didn’t really have to do as it was after the fact and on our word alone). Enjoyable and romantic.

I had a business meeting there today for lunch with about 20 other financial advisors. The décor and lighting were top notch! The water and bar drinks have an overwhelming taste of chlorine. I asked the waitress for San Pellegrino sparkling water and she brought me out a glass of sparkling water(supposedly San P). When I tasted it, it still had the foul taste of chlorine! I pulled the waitress aside and gently insisted that I wanted something from a bottle as the chlorine taste was too overpowering. She replied that it WAS San P. I said it had to be seltzer from the bar dispenser. She said she would ‘open another bottle for me.’ Then, she brought out the big bottle for me. I didn’t realize that an open bottle would somehow take chlorine out of the air and spoil it! Yeah, right. The food was okay(I had the pasta Bolognaise), It was quite bland. I could have done better at home with my good jarred pasta sauce.

Today, we went to Vine, and it was only OK. I ordered fried calamari for the appetizer, and a steak dish and a tortellini dish, and it was only OK. The place was nice, and had a good atmosphere. The place was also hosting an event of some sort upstairs, but overall, it wasn’t too noisy. Regarding the food, the tortellini dish tasted good, but certain parts of the tortellini were hard and some soft, and I did not like that. The steak was OK, not horrible, not great, but it had lot’s of fat. One of the other people in my party ordered Penni alfredo and said that it was good, but I don’t know for sure whether or not it was because I did not have it. So, overall, I would recommend it, but I can not say that it is the best place, as there are other great places around too.
