Meh, this place is just okay. I stopped here back in February for a quick lunch and I really wasn’t impressed. The sandwich I had was decent, but not amazing; it had good flavor, but was a bit pricey and small. My co-workers enjoyed their soup, but I didn’t have any, so I can’t comment on that. I doubt I would come here again.

Came here on recommendation of a colleague. Great soup, v good service. Seems to have regular customers which is a good sign. Bit on pricey side but worth it I feel

White Bean turkey chili Soup was good although salty. 1 star is for the ridiculous price. It’s just soup. Medium size soup cost $ 8 and large cost$ 11. Its overpriced and people need to stop going to make them see that they are being ridiculous. It also comes with a small dry piece of bread…

This is so awful. I rarely write bad reviews but I feel like I need to write it this time. I ordered a Half sandwich and a chicken noodle soup from there yesterday. When the cashier, or the owner of the store rang me up, she said $ 15.97. I asked her. Oh. The soup is $ 4 the sandwich is $ 5. How did it come up to be $ 15.97? She said, Well you wanted it combo didn’t you? It comes with an apple and a piece of roll. I said, «you asked me if I wanted an apple and he roll, and said that ITCOMES with it, so I said yes. I didn’t know that 1 Apple and a piece is going to cost me another $ 6!!! No thank you, I don’t want the combo. Then she immediately said, $ 9.57. Anyone reading this would be shocked to see how they run their business. It is so gross and I feel like I was robbed. Does Anyone have the same Experience with this shop? And btw, they never provide you with a receipt either. I don’t see why they would rob customer like the way they are and can still stay in business. Or most people don’t pay attention to how much they are paying for the food? This happened to me on more than three occasion and when t first happened, I thought here was an err. The second it happened, I thought well, maybe they are too busy then. But this time, I really realized what is happening. The scope of this is a lot broader than what I thought.

A lot of selections of soups. I had the white chili which was fair. Nothing to rave about but nothing to bash about. I probably would of given this place 3 stars but I find the prices a tad expensive for soup. I paid 12 bucks for a quart. For that price, I would of gotten burger instead. Not that this place is bad. Just nothing to rave about and prices are up there.

Very friendly staff. Lots of soups, sandwiches, and snacks to choose from. I was unimpressed with my soup and sandwich. I forced myself to eat half of it all since I just plopped down $ 17 for it(plus a water). The sandwich description drew me in(turkey, orange cranberry relish, greens, cheese, cranberry walnut bread), but it wasn’t nearly as good as imagined. The soup was okay-probably should say it was good considering it was vegan and gluten free. I won’t be returning. $ 15 credit card minimum.

the soup is amazing and the sandwiches are great … my poor rating is because he overcharged me and didn’t put the right fruit or any bread in my mom’s bag they said«oh i didn’t charge you for the soup after i paid(i had a soup, drink and sandwich) i said i think you did but since they don’t give you a receipt(or offer you one) i had no proof my mom paid for her stuff and asked 3 times if her banana and bread were in the bag and he said yes(it as an orange no bread) this is the SECOND time i swear he over charged us… i will not be going back if you want to eat there plan on getting bumped. tables are jammed in

The area is around businesses so a lot of people come in for lunch. But what I don’t get is why would you set a minimum credit/debit card transaction fee of $ 15. Not all people spends that amount of money for lunch not all carry cash these days. Plus technically it is illegal to put a minimum transaction. When I told the guy owner, who happened to be on the register(trust me, ull know he s the owner by his attitude) that I didn’t have cash, he gave me a pass on that day and let me pay with card for the amount of $ 11. He made me feel like I owe him so I never came back.

Overpriced and the people could be a lot friendlier. Sandwiches and soup are ok, not great. The candy and nuts sold at the counter are ridiculously overpriced.

The food is fine for a quick lunch, but everything else about this place is not good and it’s clear that it’s all due to the owner. It’s a bit pricey for what it is, but you can say that about every place in the area. However, they really nickle and dime you on everything here, which is really tacky and unappealing for a restaurant. They have a really high minimum on debit/credit cards, they have all of these little snacks up front which are exorbitantly priced and possibly illegal. Are you allowed to take 10 peanut M&M’s out of the original packaging, put them in one of those clear to go cups for condiments and resell them for $ 2? The owner is loud and obnoxious and yells at his staff in front of customers, which is also tacky and distasteful. Try to class it up just a little, and maybe just raise the prices by a few cents to cover the fees from the card companies rather than giving every one who goes in there a hard time about trying to pay with a card. It’s also a violation of their agreement with the credit card company to charge anything higher than a $ 10 minimum. Feel free to report them

$ 12 minimum for card. It’s 2015!!! It’s called the cost doing business. I bet they don’t pay cash for all their supplies! I was asked 3 times in 30 seconds if I only wanted a sandwich. Normally not, but they only had 2 types so I had to settle. In other situations, I would get chips and a drink, but I was treated like they were doing me a favor the second I walked in. Was researching a new spot to take clients. If in the area, GOTOURBANTABLE!!! Same plaza, better service.

Pleasant greeting by Hispanic man setting up soup, lady with teal shirt today serving the soup didn’t give warm reception like the owner at the cash register. Nice selection of soups, ordered the Angus chili. Nice chunks of onions and peppers, minimal meat and a bit soupy. It comes with bread and a banana probably to help justify the $ 7.11 price tag for a pint of soup. Not the best or worst chili I’ve ever had, comparable to the quality of owners cuisine. Used this place as a rest stop on my way to PA. Kudos for owner for being the face of the business and warmly greeting customers.

Waking in we got a great reception from the owner. As we decided on what we wanted, we saw a few regulars come in and be greeted by name. That is always a sign of a good eatery. Being able to sample the soups was a catch 22 because they were all great tasting. My sons settled on the steak sandwich which they shares because they were a nice size. I have the ham sandwich which was great and my wife enjoyed the soup. We will definitely go again when we visit.

Fantastic place for sandwiches, salads, wraps, and of course SOUP! A family owned business that puts quality into everything they make. I don’t even bother with Panera down the road. I’ve been going to this spot for years and the food has never disappointed. I recommend the turkey chili! One of my favorites. Lots of love to the staff there. They work hard and it shows in the quality!

The food is average and overpriced. However they are extremely disorganized. One person will bounce back and forth b/w helping customers and it takes FOREVER to get your food. It is so frustrating. I only come here b/c it is convenient after we leave the Y and to get my kids a bite to eat. I’ve heard the owner yell at his staff on multiple occasions and it is extremely uncomfortable. They need to figure out a better way to service their customers.

Went there once and had a fruit salad. It was amazing. The place is pretty packed regularly but it’s worth an experience.

I wish I could give this place a higher rating, but given the specific things I’ve tried, this falls squarely into the«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» category. I came here with a co-worker on two separate occasions, and on both occasions, I was somewhat disappointed. Soup Shoppe has a good variety of items — pre-made salads and sandwiches that look fresh and tasty, and several hot lunch options. The staff here are also really friendly. That said, the food itself — at least what I’ve had — was not great, especially given the prices they charge. I tried the chili — which I was expecting to knock my socks off. The overall flavor and veggie to meat ratio and flavor was generally okay, but for the fact that it was wayyyy too salty. I also tried one of the hot lunch options a few days after which was a baked penne pasta with tomato sauce and cheese. Pasta was generally okay other than the fact that the food again seemed overloaded with salt. I think Soup Shoppe has the potential to do a lot better. In my book, it would merit at least 3 stars if everything wasn’t so overwhelmingly salty.

This place is just ok in my book. I went here religiously for a while then discovered some other places nearby. I’m not a big soup guy, so maybe my review is misplaced as I have never gotten soup here. The good: –They almost always have a delicious hot sandwich special. –Their other sandwiches are pretty good –Nice make your own salad situation with fresh ingredients –Friendly service(the lady at the register uses terms of endearment for all customers) The bad: –Pretty overpriced($ 12 for a sandwich, chips, and a drink) –Confusing line situation inside –Except for specials, sandwiches are pre-made and packaged in a refrigerated display case -$ 15 minimum on credit card purchases. They aren’t crazy strict, but I am guilted every time I don’t have cash with a stink eye. You’re a sandwich place… the majority of your customers do not spend more than $ 15. BTW, credit card minimums are illegal. –The macaroni salad… woof –The lady at the register uses terms of endearment for all customers(depends on my mood). Ooh, I’m such a bitch.

The Soup Shoppe offers six fresh soups, a daily hot entrée, some salads and a bunch of sandwiches. They get you the food pretty darn quickly. Very busy at lunch time. One option is a $ 7 combo of soup, roll and fruit(apple, banana, orange). I got a potato-spinach soup that was hot, pleasant and not overly salty plus a side salad which was very fresh and had tomato, cucumber etc. My unindicted co-conspirators said their chili and their sandwiches were good but the bread was nothing to write home about. Friendly staff, the counter people try to answer questions and the checkout lady calls everyone«Hon.» But there are plenty of problems. Chili is listed as «market price», as if it were wild-caught salmon, strange. There’s no board that lists the daily soups and no signs on pots either, so almost every customer asks the same question, what soups do you have today? Sandwiches are all pre-made and in plastic boxes in the cooler. It’s fast but I don’t think you can get a customized version. There is a soup and half sandwich option, which they accomplish by taking half a sandwich out of one of the boxes in the front cooler. There is no soup-and-salad special, just buy each separately. And the pricing seems a bit high. Water is $ 1.75 for large and $ 1.95 for huge bottles. Lots of overpriced sweets at the register. Saw the(large) owner but he didn’t live up the bad rep given by other Unilocalers :) Dining room seats about 30 people but the tables are right at the door and it has no double-door system, which makes for a chilly lunch in the winter.
