A great place to eat when you pass Barstow. Thanks Unilocal! We were coming with a group of 20 and were worried that the place won’t fit us, or that the service would be sloww… But it turns out the food was great, service was relatively quick and food was better than expected! Our table ordered combo, which consists of pork fried rice, some entrée and either egg Foo young or egg rolls. The one with egg rolls costs less than 7 $, the one with egg foo young is 4.70 $(we thought it was a mistake on the price). The area is a ghetto, lol, selling hookah right next door. But once you’re inside it just feels like just another family owned Chinese restaurant. With a hint of smell of Chinese incense… Would be a better alternative to Pandex.

Not really the typical chinese food you see in many current chinese restaurants but I love it because it’s reminiscent of the chinese restaurants back in the 70s. Mater of fact according to the grand son they opened in 1971. I try to stop every time I drive by on my way to Vegas.

Family run authentic chinese. Asked for no msg and got low salt too yay! The dinner salad was forgettable but the egg drop soup was delicious and the chow fun was really well prepared not too oily, nice charred noodles, a bit too many bean sprouts though. Overall a fantastic experience given in Barstow!

We did not eat the house specialties when we ate here. We had a burger and chef salad. They were fine. This restaurant is located in a historical Barstow property. The owners have a long, excellent, well-documented history with the local Army and Marines. If you bring a group of friends you’ll be well-served with good, fresh food.

Quality generous portions, willing to custom make dishes not on their menu. Prices are VERY reasonable. We are disabled and have service dogs and the owners are very kind and welcoming. We stopped once to check it out and now we go regularly.

Fresh, well-prepared food, a good option if you are passing through Barstow because it’s one of the few restaurants that is not a chain. Plus the Wongs are such a cute family.

I’ve learned from my cross country travels that the best food sometimes comes from the most unassuming places. This little place is no exception! Great Chinese food & my picky 6 year old enjoyed a spot-on BLT. Plus, we loved imagining what it looked like back in the day.

Been eating here for awhile since I work in Barstow. Henry and his family are killing it with this food! Curry chicken, Kung pao, chow fun, and THEBEST pork eggrolls on earth! There’s nothing I won’t try and they have even made special requests for me at times. Love this place. Love the people. Love the food. You must try it for the bomb Chinese dishes in Barstow.

Settled in the heart of old downtown, village café serves American standards and classic Chinese cuisine. Go ahead! Step back in time and relax while these earnest old folks serve and cook with ease and care. I had the egg fu yung plate and egg drop soup with a pot of hot tea. It was $ 6.50! Great food and well off the beaten touristy path. Very refreshing authentic vibe. Felt like I was in a time before chain fast food and… Well don’t the old times always seem more wholesome?

Classic Chinese dishes at a good value. Dining in is a bit of a time warp and the restroom is a bit scary.

Stopped in while staying in Barstow on Friday. I got there a little after 7(looks like they close at 7:30 most nights), so I was only able to get take-out. Ginger beef and house special chow mein. I enjoyed them both, and prices were reasonable.
