Stayed for 1 night in the Bayview room. Spacious with everything there to cook meals if need be. We’d stay again in a second. Enjoyed the deck for a cocktail. Room was clean and comfy. Kubels is 3 doors away too!

Cute old motel. Very basic but friendly staff. The beds were comfortable and the location was good.

We loved this little place. We spent the night here in the off-​season and loved it. The manager was very laid back and very helpful. The self check in and check out was perfect for us. The rooms are quaint and had everything you would need. It was VERY clean, the heater worked well and the shower was clean and hot. I would definitely recommend this to those wanting that local, bungalow feel.

I was the only guest early October and never saw a soul, called their # and did a phone check-​in, given code for door. Room tiny but I knew that, run-​down but clean. Worst were water spots on ceiling, hiding mold my runny nose let me know was there (faint smell as well).
Chilly but heat (wall a/​c too) warmed me. Microwave and mini fridge but no hair dryer. Soap and stuff. Only one chair but I was only one in the room with a queen bed almost wall-​to-​wall. Not barely counter space for anything. TV wall mount and sizable.
Had there been no mustiness I would have rated this higher despite many frayed edges, priced reasonable for the island.

We stayed at the White Whale for several days around Labor Day weekend. The rooms are very small, barely room to navigate around the bed. The room was clean, but a bit run down. Definitely time for some improvements. After Labor Day, the motel pretty much emptied except for us and a couple other rooms. One of which was a family with little kids that for some reason were placed in the room above us. The walls and ceilings are thin. Every pitter patter of kids feet as they ran endless NASCAR laps around the room could be heard and felt. Only a little kid could find enough room to run in a room this small. The motel has free wi-​fi and beach badges for guests. No bike rack. No ice machine that we could find, but it does have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Prices are affordable comparatively. It is very close to Kubel’s (4 doors away), Poppy’s, and other Barnegat Light attractions.

Spent a Saturday night off season. Rooms were small — my sister and I had a tight squeeze… but spotless. When we checked in everything was freshly cleaned to perfection. It is a really Cozy place. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Check in and Check out were a breeze. You get what you pay for here and then some. I definitely recommend this hotel for 1 – 2 night stay. Not the type of place you would want to spend a week. Front porch was super cozy and serene.

We rented one of the rooms with one queen bed. The room wasn’t much bigger than the bed, but for the amount of time we typically are in the room, it does the job. Clean enough. Nice location. Not outrageously expensive. The owners /​staff were very friendly. They have an outdoor shower, beach badges, and a small back yard with hammocks & chairs (rooms in the back face the back yard, rooms in the front face the gravel parking lot — both have a porch outside running along the entire length of the building). 4 stars MAY seem a bit high considering it’s by no means a luxury hotel, but it’s all relative to the area. Clean, basic, and not too pricy.
