I never had a problem with them not having a book that I wanted. They had e-books and a large genealogy room for those interested in ancestry. They had a sizable DVD and audiobook library and the staff were always friendly and courteous. The library was clean and well-lit. They had multiple meeting rooms, plenty of computers, and places to sit, read or study.

Much better than most of the county libraries found adjacent to Nelson County, both in terms of amenities, activities, and catalogue. Medium, small, and study spaces available by reservation and first-come, first-served. A modern and well-connected space with knowledgeable and helpful staff. And, unlike many area libraries, they’re not all about stocking romance & western & tinfoil-hat nonsense at the cost of maintaining access to classics and significant books that should be in every library. It’s almost as if the staff and managers actually appreciate and know how to read. Could it be??? If only I could spend more time in Bardstown!

This is the library. One of the finest small town facilities you’ll ever visit. The staff is friendly and accessible. They offer meeting rooms, computers for the internet and stacks of books and information on just about anything.
