I called this place because a coworker suggested them. I talked to Antonio(who’s probably the owner and only worker), and he was good the first two times I talked to him to get price information for towing my car to Reedsburg, WI($ 120 to get it to Sullivan’s Two in Reedsburg from the Baraboo airport in case you’re doing comparison shopping). The third time(when I found out I’d actually need to get my car towed to a Nissan dealership and was getting new price information to tow it to the nearest one in Madison) was a mixed bag: — Good things: * He suggested that I use Bill’s towing service because he only had one«wrecker» and would charge too much to tow my vehicle to Madison and said Bill’s had more vehicles and would be better suited to help me… and I did end up using Bill’s service(through my State Farm Roadside assistance program), so he at least knows who to send you to when he can’t do the job. * He’s only does towing, so you don’t feel bad or anything about having him send your car to any local auto repair shop. — Bad things: * He was somewhat crude/rude the third time I talked to him(calling me «mam» and«dear» and miss… even though I’m a dude and told him at the start of the conversation my not-usually-mistaken-for-female/not-a-common-female/very-common-male name)… although I’ve had other people I’ve never met think I’m female on the phone(and he could have forgotten my name), so it isn’t like he’s the first one to do this to me. * Given the above bad thing, he must have thought I was a stupid/naïve woman because I felt he was talking down to me like I didn’t know why a wrecking truck would cost more to get to Madison(even though I didn’t question him on his statement that he’d cost too much to get to Madison and that I should talk to Bill’s Towing). It wasn’t extensive or severe or anything, I just felt like he was trying to explain why he couldn’t get my car to Madison and had biases against women knowing things about cars/towing and thought I didn’t know anything because he thought I was female.(I will admit that this is the first time I’ve needed a tow truck, but I was cognizant of the fact that someone doing only local towing would probably only have the regular«wrecking» truck and that there are tow trucks that actually carry the vehicle on a flatbed and that that’s probably what I’d want to take my car to Madison and that Bill’s probably had it since he mentioned them.) All in all, I’ll probably see if other places are cheaper before talking to Antonio again, but won’t avoid having him tow my vehicle. Hopefully the next time he won’t think I’m female since I told him at the end of the third conversation that I was a dude.
