Our fancy dinner splurge while visiting Bar Harbor — definitely worth trying! Delicious and well-presented dishes. Fresh ingredients. Vibrant colors. The lobster gnocchi was absolutely divine — so flavorful I wish I didn’t have to share with my friends(and seriously considered ordering an individual one just for myself on top of the shared portion). Low key décor but excellent service.

This review is based on our interaction with the hostess alone. We didn’t get to try the food because we did not like the way we were greeted and refused to stay. We came in on a Monday evening and were shown the least desirable table. When we asked if we could have any of the other tables that were available, she said they were fully booked. On A Monday evening, end of Sept. Hmm. Now, we would have stayed, had she said it differently, but the tone of her voice and facial expression made us believe she did not appreciate our business, so we decided to walk out of there. There are plenty of other good restaurants in Bar Harbor with welcoming staff and awesome food. We prefer those!

Clearly the best meal we had during our 4-day visit to Bar Harbor. I’m glad I didn’t order an appetizer, the Portuguese Seafood Stew was plenty of food! In a tomato based stew, the clams, mussels, scallops, salmon, calamari, crab, and haddock was fresh, flavorful and filling! Hubs ordered the Grilled Ratatouille with Tri-Colored Pasta. He really enjoyed his dish, but did steal my focaccia bread. Definitely going back next time I am in town!

This place is a little off of the beaten path, but well worth it! The first night we ate at a local lobster shack and it was 150 $ for 3 of us… food meh — tonight at fathom we had 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 3 drinks and 2 desserts for the same amount !!! And the food was lick your plate good! The duck lettuce wraps were not very flavorful, but the beer salad and the lamb stuffed calamari were to die for – the steak was the best steak I have ever even eaten – melted in your mouth delicious! The lobster gnocchi was to die for and the crème brûlée and rhubarb pie were delightful– did I mention they bake their own bread?! I wish we would have eaten here every night, it was absolutely delicious.

I’m from Los Angeles California. It’s my wife and my first time in Maine. We are accustomed to traffic, friendly people and amazing restaurants. So far we had not been blown away by any restaurants sadly. Anyone who does not give this restaurant five stars. Clearly has no taste in food customer service or atmosphere. Extra extra amazing. The beet salad. It was amazing. The bread pudding I have not tasted it yet because I’m so full but I know it’s going to be amazing. I ate a special so it might not be on the menu but it’s udon noodles and muscles and it was amazingly good, I love that word. If my grammar is poor it’s because I’m doing talk to text. If you are from out of town like myself and want to eat really good food with vegetables… Something a lot of other restaurants seem to have forgotten to put on the menu. Then this is an excellent choice and there are three money stars here but I really think it should be more like two or 2 ½:))) also I don’t know anyone that owns this restaurant or anything. I know I’m being really nice and haven’t had a lot of Unilocal reviews — sometimes that can seem fake but it’s because I forgot my password and did not have the energy to reset. Until I was blown away by the food and found it worth my while to sign in and add this review.

Very nice place, the dining area is smaller so it’s not really meant for a large/loud party. The bread is delicious. We had the ratatouille and the perch/udon special. Both were very good. Drinks were also great, must try the bluette. It’s not too sweet or too overwhelming with blueberry flavor. Outside seating wasn’t available when we went, but it looked gorgeous so definitely try to sit outside if it’s a nice night.

Very good food, though the menu selection is rather limited. However, quality is definitely emphasized as all of the dishes our party ordered exceeded our expectations. I had the Chateaubriand Filet… Tasty! Helpful, friendly staff. Water glasses always filled. Prompt service and ample, though somewhat intimate, seating.

The food here was delicious. This restaurant was by far the best out of the ones we tried in this area. Food: Sweet and salty maple syrup bread — delicious Crab cake — good Drunk shrimp with focaccia — scrumptious hearty sauce. Must get this. Duck — this was ok. Wouldn’t order again. The kumquat sauce made the dish taste a bit too sweet. Scallops — delicious with the risotto and mushrooms Filet — ok Lobster gnocchi — best dish of the night. Must order this one.

We were told about this place from a local in Bar Harbor and encouraged to check it out and we are so glad that we did. The location is on a side street off of the main streets of Bar Harbor. Definitely not a «tourist trap» like many of the other places we dined at this week. Absolutely amazing food! I wish I remembered what the name of our appetizers were — some type of shrimp dish and pork dish. Both were great! I remember my dinner vividly, however. I got their filet mignon. The filet was cooked exactly as I ordered and covered with broccolini and kale. The portion was large and the food was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend had some sort of lamb dish that he enjoyed wholeheartedly. We were told that their menu changes frequently to keep things interesting. To drink, I had the«Fizz» which was a champagne-based mixed drink(also wonderful). The server was friendly and gave us excellent service. I do not have one negative thing to say about this place. Highly recommend to all!

Great meal and great service. I had the filet and my friend had the halibut… wonderful. She began with the lobster bisque and raved.
