Three words: lobster Bloody Mary. I would go back for that alone! Lobster custom ordered pizza and grilled scallop and lobster risotto were delicious as well. Will definitely return next time I’m in the area.

Shared the Fish Taco w/Salad and a Ricotta/Fig/Proscuit to Pizza. The pizza was excellent, the salad and taco tasty.(Note: the Haddock sandwich at the Thirsty Whale was a far better fish quality.) Both were served within a reasonable time after ordering. And there is a huge draft beer selection. Here’s the thing. October is the end of the season and places are closing. But wait staff should remain attentive, right? The direction on the beer menu was to read it. The waiter didn’t check back after the food arrived until the meal was finished. Hmmm — I can’t say we were ignored, but just a bit more friendliness would have been warming. Is this a Maine thing? One saving grace was the hostess with a foreign-accent — very accommodating and sweet.

Visited Bar Harbor for a weekend and decided to walk in here to try their food because we liked the ambiance, it seemed popular, and the menu was extensive(local specialties and more). There was a minor wait as it was the weekend, so we waited at the bar and they had some crafty(and strong) drinks. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer, which we would not stop raving about. The broth that the mussels were cooked in was perfect and went amazing with the bread. For entrees, I got the scallop tacos with kimchi and slaw, which was as delicious — scallops were perfectly cooked and the slaw/kimchi made it refreshing. My boyfriend got the jerked steak tacos, which was the reason why we went there a second time the night after… The jerked tacos were unreal! I am no professional for jerked foods, but I do love anything spicy enough to make me sweat, but my boyfriend was raving about how this was the closest thing he got to the jerked steak he had in Jamaica. So we went back the next night, because he couldn’t stop thinking about those tacos. There was a slight wait the second night, but nothing was going to stop us from going there again… We realized that the specials changed(a sign that food is pretty fresh), so we switched it up. Drinks were still great and strong. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallop with blueberry maple glaze, which were the perfect balance of sweet and savory. We also ordered oysters, which were incredibly fresh and came with a tasty vinegar instead of the traditional horseradish. Of course, my boyfriend got the jerked tacos again, but I also jumped on the jerked seasoning train and got the jerked chicken salad, which was phenomenal. The heat was one that you thought you could handle and then kick you in the face a minute later. This place was just great — service was good, food was fantastic, and I thought prices were extremely reasonable too. Food was fresh and you could taste the fact that each plate was cooked with care and thought. I would go back to Bar Harbor just to eat here again. Love this place!

This is the first beer I have had since going Gluten Free and it’s a full bodied red! Canadian based… hope I can get it back home. I also ordered the Lobster & scallop risotto and it was awesome. Between the wood fire grilled taste of the scallops, the buttery flavor of the lobster and the creaminess of the risotto, I was in taste bud heaven! If ever in Maine again, I will eat here again!

The New England clam chowder was really tasty — loved it. My summer risotto was flavorless so I practically used all the salt and pepper on the table. We are usually big fans of mussels and those were just ok. They should cook them in the sauce but instead they put it on the side. I wouldn’t come back but others seemed happy with their crab cakes, fries and lobster.
